This study examined the characteristics of the temperature change in Daegu area and cloudiness, sunshine hours, and solar radiation analyzed effect that get to daily maximum temperature during summer(from June to August). And solar radiation actuality observation investigated characteristics about one thing decrement of urban center. The mean temperature of Daegu area for 30 years (from 1976 to 2005) has been gradually increasing, and monthly mean values of daily maximum temperature during summer has tended to be on the increase. Through the comparison of mean temperature between Daegu and Gyeongbuk area and other main cities for 30 years (from 1976 to 2005), it has been found that the temperature of the inland places was high during summer and that of the coastal areas was high during winter. In terms of the correlation between monthly mean values of daily maximum temperature and solar radiation during summer, Daegu area had higher correlation than other main cities (Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju and Busan). In the relationship between monthly mean values of daily maximum temperature and sunshine duration, cloudiness, Daegu and Busan had higher correlation than Seoul, Daejeon and Gwangju. In this regard, it has been found that cloudiness, sunshine duration, and solar radiation were crucial elements in determining the highest temperature in Daegu area. In the comparative analysis of Daegu urban area and suburban area on solar radiation, it has been shown that the decrease in solar radiation was noticeable in Daegu urban area more in summer than in winter. Meanwhile, the decrease in solar radiation of Daegu urban area in the afternoon during the summer was higher than in the morning and this was due to the fact that atmospheric transmittance of solar radiation was low in the afternoon as clouds were formed due to the increase in tropospheric operation of Daegu urban area and condensation nucleus increased by suspended substances existing in the upper air.
