        이경옥(Kyung Ock Yi),김경숙(Kyung Sook Kim),원형중(Hyung Joong Won),박승하(Seung Ha Park),김도연(Do Yeon Kim),권보영(Bo Young Kwon) 한국여성체육학회 2013 한국여성체육학회지 Vol.27 No.2

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between physical fitness and creativity. A total 51 students from a gifted youth athlete education center in Seoul were recruited for this study. Physical fitness and creativity were tested at the beginning and end of 34 weeks (316 hours). Exercises included a complex of progressively demanding movements designed to maximize neural stimulation. Collected data were analyzed by paired t-test and Pearson`s correlation by using SPSS version 18.0. Abdominal muscle strength (r=.350, p<.05), rhythmic cardiovascular endurance (r=.346, p<.05), and dynamic balance manipulation (r=.337, p<.05) were positively correlated with creativity. Conversely, increases in speed and agility were inversely related to creativity. In conclusion, combining cardiovascular and core endurance with hand-eye-foot coordination, spontaneous adaptation, inter / intra limb coordination is important to increase creativity, but repetitive movements may diminish creativity.

Vol.22 No.2

The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in foot type of female college students according to academic major in both feet. The subjects for this study were 216 female students who took liberal arts classes in Seoul. Dependent variables were students`` field of study -specifically whether or not they majored in physical education. Analysis of students`` foot type and Malalignment Syndrome were measured using Resting Calcaneous Stance Position (RCSP). There were five categories for RCSP angle: Severe Pes Planus (<-5°), Pes Planus (-3°~-4°), Pes Rectus (±2°), Pes Cavus (+3°~+4°), Severe Pes Cavus (>+5°), x2 analysis was χ used for statistical analysis. RCSP for all subjects (432 feet) occurred at the following frequency: Pes Planus(43.9%), Pes Rectus(43.8%), and Pes Cavus(12.3%). These levels were different for physical education majors, with Pes Planus at 42.6%, Pes Rectus at 49.4%, and Pes Cavusat 8.0%. Non-physical education majors exhibited Pes Planus at 45.0%, Pes Rectus at 39.9%, and Pes Cavus at 15.1%, 15.3% (33 subjects) of all students had Malalignment Syndrome, In conclusion, 56.2% of female college students had a foot deformity. There was nearly four times more Pes Planus than Pes Cavus. According to these results, exercise can be prescribed to alleviate foot deformities, especially supination. Severe pronation and supination problems appeared less amongst students not majoring in physical education. Thus, although exercise might be one cause of foot deformity, it can also help resolve problems with over-supination. Further study will be needed to understand and resolve the specific mechanism of over-supination.

        이경옥(Kyung Ock Yi) 한국여성체육학회 2012 한국여성체육학회지 Vol.26 No.2

The purpose of this study was to develop an integrated multi-disciplinary model for the causes of falling. Subjects for this study were 600 men and women over the age of 55 living in 13 different urban and suburban areas. Four different academic disciplines collaborated for this study including food and nutrition, nursing, health management, and physical education. Nutritional conditions, eating habits, food satisfaction, quality of sleep, excrement, daily activity ability, pain-discomfort, depression, life satisfaction, health conditions, health consultation frequency, social support, alcohol · tobacco consumption, leisure activities, loneliness, exercise, physical fitness, history of falling, and balance efficacy were evaluated via questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using the SAS 12.0 via regression analysis along with the stepwise collection (p<0.05) to develop the integrated multidisciplinary model, There was a statistical relation between five different factors and falling in the following order: a frequency of falling, physical fitness, diminished daily activity ability, pain or discomfort, and low social support. It is likely that subjects with strong social networks leave their home frequently to meet with friends or family and maintain social bonds. Thus, social life can be important not only psychologically, but also physically.

        이경옥(Kyung Ock Yi),강지은(Ji Eun Kang),박수진(Soo Jin Park),정덕유(Duk Yoo Jung) 한국여성체육학회 2012 한국여성체육학회지 Vol.26 No.3

The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of exercise using an iPad on cardiovascular index, physical fitness, and balance for the elderly, Ten elderly individuals living in an mega-complex apartment were recruited as the test group and six individuals living in smaller residential units were selected as the control group for the study, The exercise program consisted of supine, sitting, and standing exercises, with variable resistance and intensity over an 8 weeks period. Cardiovascular index, grip strength, upper and lower extremity flexibility, and balance were investigated as dependent variables. For the dynamic postural control were evaluated using three different test. Collected data were analyzed by covariance analysis with using PASW 18.0 version. After exercise, test group presented decreases on systolic and diastolic blood pressure. They also presented increases on grip strength and flexibility increased, but they are not statistically significant. There was statistically significant increase in postural and core stability in every direction. There was no change in the vestibular system at the end of the test period. In conclusion, television is more familiar and comfortable medium for the elderly and an exercise program using television is likely to be as effective as the iPad program.

The purpose of this study was to find the relationship between standing posture biomechanics and physical fitness in the elderly. Physical fitness variables and postural variables for 227 (140 women and 87 men) elderly individuals were tested. Physical fitness tests (Korean Institute of Sports Science, 2012) included 3m sit, walk, and return, grip test, 30 second chair sit and stand, sit and reach, figure 8 walks, and 2 minute stationary march. Postural biomechanics variables included resting calcaneal stance position (RCSP), shoulder slope, pelvic slope, knee flexion angle, leg length difference, thoracic angle, and upper body slope. In statistical analysis, multiple regression was conducted by using stepwise selection method via SAS (version 9.2). Analysis for both men and women revealed significant relationships between physical fitness and age, upper body slope, knee flexion angle, leg length difference. Pelvic and thoracic angle were only related to figure 8 walking and sit and reach in women, while RCSP and shoulder slope had no relationship with any physical fitness variables.
