The numerical analysis of low imput power segmented arc heater were undertaken in order to predict the performance of the manufacturing arc heater. The length and diameter of constrictor are chosen as 1 and 25 cm, respectively, considering the stable arc discharge. For the given specification of constrictor length and diameter, the operating characteristics are investigated successfully. Moreover, the results are utilized when designing the sub part of the facility such as vacuum pump and power supply. In the present study, the ongoing manufacturing process of the low input power arc heater are introduced precisely. In addition, the utilize of computational fluid dynamics for the design and the manufacture of the arc heater is also discussed.
