Vol.4 No.4

This paper dealt with the possibilities and values of hypnotainment, or hypnosis entertainment. Even though the original history of hypnosis goes back as far as 5,000 years ago, its modern history began in the 18th century when Dr. Mesmer practiced clinically and studied it scientifically. Since then, the hypnosis has been performed on the stage as a show for entertainment. Nowadays the stage hypnosis has been developed in various forms and it is widely performed particularly in the Western world. In addition, the hypnosis has also been used in the fields as movies, novels, and dramas for entertainment purpose. Thus, it is concluded that the hypnosis could be performed as a good form of entertainment and has values as an entertainment.

2014 Journal of Naturopathy Vol.3 No.1

Hypnosis is one of mind management techniques. It helps, through the mind, to resolve people`s life problems, and to heal their various psychological and body symptoms. The rationales on which the hypnosis is understood as a naturopathy are the mind-body connection principle of the hypnosis and healing functions, of unconsciousness or subconsciousness, for self-preserve and development. The hypnosis basically utilizes the mind, or the unconsciousness in particular, and its natural healing power and it promotes immune power so that various healing effects are produced. In reality, many cases have been reported that the hypnosis healed varied psychological symptoms and physical diseases. In other words, through the hypnosis can we ultimately get the natural healing effects for by the immune power inherent within our unconsciousness. Those hypnosis techniques are many and diverse. The typical techniques of hypnosis are such as relaxation, concentration, visualization, goal setting, suggestion and so on. Those techniques are all different in terms of applications, but they eventually have a common denominator in sense of helping problem solving and healing by demonstrating natural healing power which resides in the subconsciousness.

Vol.48 No.11

In recent years, medical techniques have provided patients with various measures to improve their quality of life. For dental treatment, drug-mediated sedation techniques for relieving dental anxiety have been developed, but behavior control through drug-mediation may be limited because of possible side effects, contraindications, and the additional expense to the patient. Many patients tend to avoid the treatment or are unwilling to accept it and this makes both patients and dentists feel pressured. The field of NLP application might alleviate this uncomfortableness. Recently, NLP has spread to the dental and medical field rapidly and has been used in surgical treatments as well as in direct psychotherapy. NLP techniques which could be applied to dental phobic patients are as follows. 1) anchoring, 2) dissociation, 3) submodality change, 4) time line threapy, 5) swish pattern, 6) six step reframing, 7) parts integration, 8) modeling and imagination and so on. The aim of this study is to examine the strategy of NLP psychology so that dental phobic patients can be treated efficiently and effectively by the application of behavior management. Through NLP, patients can be induced to have more positive attitudes and experiences in future dental treatment.

Multiculturalism is a pervasive force in modern society of the U.A. that acknowledges the complexity of culture. Multicultural counseling is a helping process that places the emphasis for counseling theory and practice equally on the cultural impressions of both the counselor and the client. The Eastern culture in general and Korean culture in particular are different from the Western culture in many ways. Specifically, such religions or spiritual traditions as Buddhism, Taoism, Zen, Confucianism, and I-Ching have been guiding lights for Eastern people including Koreans. Thus, these pracitces can be applied in developing Korean counseling theory and practice. In the future, more discussions and practice for developing Korean counseling model are expected.

Vol.22 No.1

Counselors or guidance specialists in educational institutions are expected to meet a wide range of student needs. The counselor is charged nor only with the responsibility of meeting the remedial and corrective needs of students on his institution but also with the broader, more challenging mission of helping students satisfy their everyday normal, developemental needs. Woth regards to the latter needs there are several tasks for counselor to perform : instruction, training, consultation, organization development, milieu management, and program development. Of these, this paper dealt with program development and utilization, in praticular. A program is simple regarded as a mix of resources, people, and activities systematically blended together to meet particular goals and objetives. Generally, student services programs and implemented at one of two levels : "level two" program which is more long-term. What began at the turn of the century in the American schools under the term "vocational guidance" with a selection and placement focus, and then shifted in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1950s to a focus on personal adjustment organized around a counselor-clinical-services model, has now assumed a developmental focus organized around the concept of a comprehensive program. Selectiom, placement, and adjustment remain, but are incorporated in the concept of development. Organizationally the concept of a comprehensive program has encompassed the counselor-clinical-services model and is now begining to become a major way or organizing and managing guidance in the schools. There are several steps in the program development. The first step is a preassessment which is primarily to determine student needs. The second one is to design program acitivities to help students reach the objectives. The next step is to implement the planned program. The last step is to evaluate the program. This step contains making necessary changes and reporting the results. Seveal group programs developed in this country have been presented in this paper and Project Synergy which is one of typical "level two" programs in the United States was outlined. We have several problems acting obstacles to develop and utilize student development guidance programs. Therefore, theose problems should be overcome for providing students with better services.

Vol.18 No.-

Happiness is the one thing everyone wants from life. However, there has not been much work to help people increase personal happiness. In other words, experimental work have not been much conducted to attempt to increase personal happiness so far. Especially American psychologist Dr. M. W. Fordyce developed a program to increase personal happiness on the assumptions that the achievement of happiness is one of the most important goals of humankind, and the ability for psychology to provide counselors, clinicians, mental health professionals, and the general public with information and self-study programs that could increase everyday happiness and satisfaction with life would be most desirable and beneficial. Other psychologists also made some happiness programs. However, the program in this article was developed on the basis of Dr. Fordyce's. This program can be utilized in group counseling sessions for anyone wishing to increase personal happiness. The major contents of the program are as follows : (1) Orientation (2) How Happy Am I? (3) Active Living (4) Positive Experience (5) Sociability (6) Get Better-Organized (7) Stop Worrying (8) Develop Positive Thinking (9) Get Present-Oriented

The self-disclosure was measured by the Johari Window Self-Rating Sheet. The subjects were thirty paid participants who volunteered. They were divided into three groups according to their prior group experience. The Group A and Group B were advanced group, and group C was a basic group, where personal growth group counseling program was applied. They had a total of thirty hours of group counseling sessions during which the two instruments, mentioned above, administered three times respectively in each group. The data were analyzed statistically using MANOVA and Pearson r coefficients by SPSS-PC. The data-analysis supported hypothesis 1 and hypothesis 3(partially), and rejected hypothesis 2. Thus, the following conclusions were derived from the results and discussions. 1. Group cohesiveness increase as group develops. 2. Self-disclosure does not always increase as group develops. 3.

Vol.13 No.-

Counselors in educatonal institutions are expected to meet a wide range of student needs. The counselor is charged not only with the responsibility of meeting the remedial and corrective needs of students in his institution but also with the broader, more challenging mission of helping students satisfy their everyday normal, developmental needs. With regards to the latter needs there are several tasks for counselor to perform:instruction, training, consultation, organization development, and milieu management. This study dealt with counselor's training role, in particular. Training refers to a set of goals and experiences that are more specific than those of tatal educational approach. The overall purpose of training is to enhance the ability of each trainee to perfrom specified roles and tasks effectively. Various training staffs or hyman resources can be utilized for student development in many fields. In this sense, they are called "people withe helping potential" or paraprofessionals. Many kinds of training programs have been developed: interpersoanl skills training rpgrams, peercounselor training programs, school staffs training programs, parents training programs, community personnel training programs, paraprofessional training programks, and self-help programs, Of these, interpersonal skills or communication skills training programs have been one of the single most important factors in student services work in recent years. These programs and others which have been developed in the nation and abroad were presented in this study. Training programs need to way bo a clear focus a maximum amount of effectively presented material in a relatively short time. One way to achieve this goal is to develop manuals that can be used both as adjuncts to initial and in-service trianing and as reference resources. Well-planned manuals can also reduce three major obstacles to a high-quality training program which are time limitations, limited staff resources, and insufficient funds. The self-paced instructional module is particularly effective for disseminating and applying factual information. The students' mastery can easily be checked with tests, and the trainer need only intervene when trainees appear to be encountering difficulty. Much of the information traditionally presented through lectures and required readings can be delivered by programmed materials. Additionally, as a primary or adjunct training tool, videotape can add excitement, clarity, and interest to most training prorams. Videotaped materials are particularly effective in presenting information, modeling skills, and givingt feedback on trainees' performance. In order to effectively provide services to students, counselor must be not only appropriately trained but regularly evaluated. This monitoring of work performance and program implementation is referred to as supervision. Supervision is important to the agency or institution because it contrubutes to getting jobs done and programs operating efficiently. For student services staff members supervision provides several benefits. It helps them view themselves as having a vocation and thereby promotes the achievement of a paraprofessional or professional identity. Professional development and advancement similarly enhance the personal growth that takes place in supervision. In order to know whether a training program is successful and effective, eveluation is essential. Furthermore, evaluation is an integral part of every program, established along with goals, objectives and activities of the undertaking. While evaluaion involves planning, it is not as difficult as it at first seems. All possible resources should be used. These include students, staff, and faculty as well as evaluation methods-observation, instruments developed for specific purposes, questionnaires and surveys.
