World Festival For Island Cultures went into the red to the extent of 18 billion won. The reasons are these. 1) Problems of preparation : The place choice which is difficult of access, no plan of reuse, and drawing up plans undemocratically. 2) Problems of performance : Poor choice of festival concept, and inaccurate performance time. 3) Problems of operation : insufficient accommodation facilities, provision against rainy weather, and restaurant owner's and its leasers' strike. 4) Problems of organization : few expert in organizing committee of world festival for Island cultures. It is true that World Festival for cultures was fail. The first world festival in Cheju had trial and error. But there are some affirmative aspects. Though we consider Cheju an international tourism place, there are no special tourism events. Because of world festival, Cheju Islanders got to have their self - respect, gained the confidence in holding an international event, and participating islanders harmonize in this world festival. If we can plan world festival throughly, the organizing committee will be organized experts, and all event plans and its process will go on democratically, next world festival will be an successful international festival.
Measurement of solid propellant burning rates by analysis of ultrasonic full waveforms

The measurement of solid propellant burning rates using ultrasound requires the simultaneous acquisition and analysis of ultrasonic signals and pressure data simultaneously in a wide range of pressure values during the process of propellant burning. Recently, this method has been proposed as an effective approach based on an analysis of full waveforms of ultrasonic signals together with a laboratory prototype system in which the proposed approach has been implemented. However, this prototype system had limitations in terms of data processing speed and signal processing procedures. To overcome such limitations, in the present study, we develop a dedicated, high speed system that can acquire ultrasonic full waveforms and pressure data up to 2,000 times per second. Our system can also estimate the burning rate as a function of pressure using a special software based on ultrasonic full waveform analysis. This paper describes the approach adopted in this high speed system, along with the burning rate measurement results obtained from three propellants with different burning characteristics.
단일 매체에서의 평면 초음파 탐촉자의 방사 음장 모델링 기법

초음파 탐촉자로부터 방사된 음장을 모델링하는 것은 초음파 측정 모델을 구성하는 첫 번째 단계이며, 그 정확도를 결정짓는 핵심 요소이기 때문에 지금까지 다양한 연구가 진행되었다. 본 논문에서는 지금까지 제안된 다양한 기법 중에서 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 Rayleigh-Sommerfeld 적분 모델, 경계회절파모델(boundary diffraction wave model), 가장자리요소모델(edge element model)에 대해 간략하게 논의하고, 이 세가지 모델을 적용하여 평면 원형 및 사각형 초음파 탐촉자의 방사 음장을 계산하고, 각 기법의 정확성과 계산 효율을 비교하였다. Modeling of radiation beam from ultrasonic transducers has been investigated extensively, since it is one of the most important, fundamental issues that have great influence on the accuracy of an ultrasonic measurement model. Here, three popular radiation models, namely the Rayleigh-Sommerfeld integral model, the boundary diffraction wave model and the edge element model, are discussed briefly, and the radiation beam fields from ultrasonic transducers with planar, circular and rectangular cross-sections are calculated using these three models. Then, the accuracy and the time-efficiency of these methods are compared based on the calculation results.
특징 선택 기법 적용에 의한 신경 회로망 용접결함 분류기의 최적화 연구

Classification of flaws in weldments from their ultrasonic scattering signals is very important in quantitative nondestructive evaluation. This kind of a problem is ideally suited to modern ultrasonic pattern recognition techniques, especially to neural networks. Here probabilistic neural networks are applied to classify flaws in weldments into 3 classes such as cracks, porosity and slag inclusions. Probabilistic nets are shown to be able to exhibit high performance of other classifiers without any training time overhead. In addition, effective approaches to sensitive feature selection are also addressed to enhance network performance.
대칭 적층 복합재 연소관의 탄성파 전파에 관한 실험적 연구

복합제 연소관의 수압/AE 시험의 성공적 수행을 위한 핵심 과제중의 하나는 수압으로 인해 방출되어 연소관을 통해 전파하는 탄성파의 특성을 분석함으로써 수압/AE 시험시 감지해야할 탄성과의 최적 성분을 결정하는 것이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 대칭 적층 구조를 갖는 복합재 연소관에 광대역 초음파를 발진시키고 전파방향과 거리를 변화시킨 105지점에서 광대역 음향방출 센서를 이용하여 복합재 내를 전파한 탄성파를 수신하고, 그 특성(주파수, 전파거리, 전파속도)을 분석하였다. 이와 같은 실험을 내부가 비어 있는 연소관과 내부를 물로 채우고 수압을 가한 연소관에 대해 반복 수행함으로써, 수압이 탄성파의 전파특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 수압/AE 시험시 검출할 탄성파의 최적 성분을 결정하였다. One of the key issues in acoustic emission (AE) during hydroproof test of filament-wound composite rocket motor cases is the determination of the optimal component of elastic wave to be monitored. To solve this problem, broadband ultrasonic wave was generated into a symmetrically filament-wound composite motor case, and was received at 105 different locations after the propagation through the composite case with different distances and directions. By analysis of the received signals, characteristics of elastic wave propagation such as frequency components, the maximum propagating distance, and velocity surface were investigated. This analysis was performed for two different conditions of the motor case; air-filled and hydraulically pressurized. Based on these information, the effect of hydraulic pressure on the wave propagation characteristics was investigated and furthermore, the optimal component of elastic wave for AE during hydroproof test of the motor case was successfully determined.
