Objective : Hemophilia, a genetically determined disorder, is characterized by abnormality of the coagulation mechanism due to functional deficiency of a specific factor, namely VIII or IX. In this study, the effect of Dong-Si acupuncture therapy on the cerebral hemorrhage patient with hemophilia was evaluated. Methods : We treated him with acupuncture by stimulating Dong-Si acupuncture point(Yuk Wan) and assessed the effect by using manual dynamic evaluation of MRC(Medical Research Council) and Modified Barthel Index. Results : After treatment, the bleeding tendency was grossly reduced and bleeding lesion was absorbed gradually. And manual dynamic evaluation of the upper extremity increased from 4 grade to 5 grade. Conclusions : This result suggest that Dong-Si acupuncture therapy on the cerebral hemorrhage patient with hemophilia was effective. And futher studies are required to concretely prove the effectiveness of Dong-Si acupuncture therapy for treating hemorrhagic diseases.
편마비 환자의 정상측과 마비측의 비복근 운동점에서의 근육 두께 차이

Objective : To investigate any difference of muscle thickness in the motor points of the gastrocnemius between the paretic and non-paretic legs in hemiplegics. Method : Ultrasonography was used to assess in vivo the gastrocnemius muscle thickness at the motor points in the paretic and non-paretic legs of twenty-four patients with stroke. Results : Muscle thickness at the motor points were reduced in the paretic legs compared to the non-paretic legs (p<0.05). There was no correlation between muscle thickness and duration of hemiplegia, site of hemiplegia. However, it did not take regular pattern of the muscular atrophy in the paretic legs. Conclusion : The gastrocnemius muscle of the paretic leg had smaller thickness compared with the non-paretic leg. The present results indicate that paresis in hemiplegics may affect the accuracy of intramuscular injection of botulinum toxin A. Therefore, we recommend ultrasonography for visually controlled, anatomically precise injection of botulinum toxins.

Gastritis cystica profunda (GCP) is a disease characterized by hyperplastic and significant extension of cystic dilatation of the gastric mucous glands, which results in a cystic lesion in gastric submucosa. It often occurs on the part of gastroenterostomy, but can be found in the stomach without any previous surgery. GCP has variable gross finding including solitary polyps, diffuse ones, submucosal tumors, and rare giant gastric mucosal fold. It is difficult to tell GCP from a cancerous lesion by gross finding that the disease demands a necessary tissue biopsy, though GCP is commonly showed as a benign in the progress. We report a case of GCP in polypoid types diagnosed by endoscopic polypectomy.
도시거주자의 혈중 카드뮴 농도와 간 및 신장 기능과의 상관성 평가

The possibility that liver and kidney function is adversely affected by current levels of environmental exposure to cadmium (Cd) as investigated in adult men and women in the general population in Seoul. From February to August in 2001, blood and morning spot urine samples were collected from 136 not occupationally exposed group (age range 20~75 years) at 4 survey sites throughout Seoul. Liver and kidney function parameters in serum and urine were examined by conventional methods. The questionnaire included factors, i.e. sex, age, smoking, alcohol, diet habit etc. The geometric mean values for Cd in blood (Cd-B) were 1.43 μg/l. It seemed prudent to conclude that liver and kidney function as not disturbed by the current environmental exposure to Cd in study.
장애이해교육을 포함한 국어과 협력교수가 장애학생에 대한 비장애학생의 태도와 학급 분위기에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 초등학교 비장애학생들을 대상으로 장애이해교육을 포함한 국어과 협력교수를 실시하고, 이것이 장애학생에 대한 비장애학생의 태도와 학급 분위기에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 실시되었다. 연구 참여자는 경기도 P초등학교 4학년 두 학급의 학생 61명으로, 학급에 장애학생이 속해 있지 않고, 연 2회 이하의 전체 학생을 대상으로 하는 장애이해교육 외에는 지속적인 장애이해교육에 참여해 본 적이 없는 학생들이다. 실험집단은 특수교사와 실험집단의 담임교사가 8주 동안 총 18회기의 협력교수를 국어시간에 실시하였고, 통제집단은 담임교사가 정규 국어수업을 실시하였다. ‘장애학생 수용성 척도(A-Scale)’를 사용하여 장애이해교육을 포함한 국어과 협력교수가 장애학생에 대한 비장애학생의 태도에 미치는 영향을 측정하였고, ‘나의 학급 척도(MCI)’를 사용하여 학급 분위기에 미치는 영향을 측정하였다. 연구결과, 두 종속변인 모두에서 실험집단과 통제집단의 변화정도 간에 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 본 연구는 교육과정 수정을 통해 정규 교과 시간 안에서도 장애이해교육을 실시할 수 있음을 보여주었으며, 프로그램의 계획과 실행, 평가에 이르는 전반적인 과정을 특수교사와 일반교사가 협력하여 진행하였다는 데 그 의의가 있다. The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of a disability awareness program embedded in Korean language classes using cooperative teaching on the elementary students' attitudes toward students with disabilities and the class climate. Sixty-one typically developing 4th graders from a public elementary school in Gyeonggi-do participated in the study. The experimental group was provided with the disability awareness program for 8 weeks (18 sessions) during regular Korean language classes while the control group was provided with regular Korean language classes only. The Acceptance Scale and My Class Inventory were used to measure the intervention effects. The results were as follows: (1) there was a statistically significant difference between two groups in the attitudes toward students with disabilities, and (2) there was a statistically significant difference between groups in the class climate. Finally, discussions of the results as well as the limitations and implications of the study were provided.
Chitosan, PVA, 그리고 Chitosan/PVA 피막의 특성과 사과 겹무늬썩음병균 Botryosphaeria dothidea의 포자분산 억제작용

Chitosan을 피막을 형성하여 포자분산을 억제하는 새로운 사과 겹무늬썩음병 방제법의 피막재로 활용코져 연구하였다. Chitosan 필름과 polyvinylalcohol(PVA)을 혼합한 chitosan/PVA 혼합필름을 제조하고 인장강도, 신장률, 점도 등 물성을 검토하였다. Chitosan/PVA 혼합필름이 chitosan 단독 필름보다 우수한 피막형성능을 보였다. FT-IR spectra 분석결과 chitosan과 PVA간에는 새로운 화학결합 형성은 관찰되지 않았다. Chitosan과 chitosan/PVA 필름은 Botryosphaeria dothidea에 대한 상당한 항진균활성을 보였다. Chitosan과 chitosan/PVA 필름은 생분해성평가 공시균주들에 의하여 생분해성을 보인 반면 PVA 단독필름은 생분해성을 나타내지 않았다. 위의 각종 피막을 이용하여 과수원에서의 B. dothidea의 포자분산 억제효과를 측정한 결과, chitosan/PVA 혼합피막이 우수한 피막형성능과 피막지속성을 보였고, 포자분산 억제효과도 가장 우수하였으며, 1%의 chitosan과 5%의 PVA를 혼합한 피막의 경우 포자분산 억제률은 97.0%에 달하였다. The applicability of chitosan, a biodegradable natural polymer, as the coating material to prevent the dispersal of the spores of the apple white rot agent Botryosphaeria dothidea, was investigated. The physical properties of mixed chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) film showed the increased physical properties for film formation, such as tensil strength, elongation, and viscosity, compare to either chitosan or PVA film. The FT-IR spectra of chitosan/PVA film indicated that the film was formed by simple blending not by any new synthetic bond. The chitosan and chitosan/PVA film showed effective antifungal activity on B. dothidea. The formed films were well decomposed by ASTM strains used for biodegradability test, on the other hand, the PVA film could not be decomposed by above standard strains. The field test at apple orchard showed that the dispersal of B. dothidea spores could be effectively reduced by coated film, especially by chitosan/PVA film. The spore dispersal was reduced upto 97.0% by 1.0% chitosan/5.0% PVA film during 4 months.
RADIANCE 프로그램과 인터넷 환경을 이용한 조명시뮬레이션 시스템 개발

The prediction of illuminances from daylight and artificial lighting has been an important issue in the field of architecture. Architects traditionally have used scale models or various computer programs as tools for predicting the available illuminance in a building and for visualizing the overall lighting quality of the environment. The program requires accurate modeling of the geometric and photometric properties of a designed environment. RADIANCE is a program developed to aid lighting designers and architects by predicting the lighting levels and appearance of a space prior to construction of a building. The modeling of geometric property is usually conducted by commercially available CAD softwares. The modeling of photometric properties includes material color, texture and/or transmittance, daylight availability, and luminous intensity distribution of artificial light sources. The simulation itself uses backward ray-tracing technique to compute radiance values, which are typically arranged to form a photographic quality image. The purpose of this study is to develop a Radiance rendering system that operates automatically on the WWW environment.
