        Night Vision is the one of technique of Pre-Crash Safety to prevent the Crash by pre-noticing to driver in the night. near-Infrared lamp and camera are necessary to give the best quality of the Night Vision, and the biggest problem of the system. which obtains the visuals by the camera in the night, is the equal light noise with the front light system. Light noise will show the light from the oncoming vehicle to the light blooming in the real camera vision. This paper will discuss about the cause and solution of light blooming of near- infrared camera, which is the important issue of night vision. Finally, we defined the optimized near- infrared camera by the lise of solution we came with.

        Current headlighting and road lighting are only partly effective in reducing the risk of driving at night. Various forms of night vision enhancement systems, using a variety of sensing technologies, are being developed to further reduce this risk. Two major sensing technologies are receiving particular development interest and are both currently available on new vehicles: far infrared(FIR) systems and near infrared systems(NIR). Recently, a New regulation is prepared to protect pedestrians in EU. This will make a vehicle more equipped to enhance forward vision and pedestrian detection. This paper deals with performance evaluation method of night vision system in Lab. and proving ground. Here, we used automated in-lab test facility, which consists of a dynamometer, a rail system and a driving simulator. That can perform repetitive and accurate tests. In proving ground, we tested night vision system’s detection capability.

        The night vision that notifies obstacles in front of the car to support driver`s vision at night driving has been developed. The conventional infrared ray night vision system is weak to noise and has low contrast. To overcome the problem of infrared ray night vision system, the researching of the night vision using digital camera image is in processing. In this paper, we propose an image enhancement algorithm for the night vision. The proposed algorithm consists of three methods, YCbCr color space conversion , noise reduction and saturation and contrast improvement.

        Flight Tests of the KO-1 Aircraft at Night

        <P>The KO-1 aircraft which has the functionality of tactical observation, was successfully developed in August of 2004 in South Korea. It is important for the KO-1 aircraft to achieve successful missions at nighttime as well as during daytime. The aircraft, equipped with interior and exterior lighting systems and lighting control panel modified from those of the KT-1 basic trainer, provides improved safety, operational effectiveness, and situational awareness during operation at night when used with night-vision goggles (NVGs). KO-1 is the first domestic aircraft that utilizes the night-vision imaging system (NVIS) technology in Korea. KO-1 NVIS was developed with the goal of defining the components of NVIS and establishing test and evaluation procedures for both the subsystems and main system. In this paper, we present the establishment of a KO-1 NVIS lighting system, NVIS component development, and representative ground and flight test results.</P>

        유진 오닐과 삶의 비전: 『밤으로의 긴 여로』를 중심으로

        This essay attempts to examine the characteristic features of the four Tyrones’ tragedies, through the conflicting characters and the contrasting journeys in Long Day’s Journey into Night. They love and hate one another by recollecting the others’ doings in the past. They try to overcome the conflicts and begin to see the light. In the end, the play ends in a good atmosphere of forgiveness and reconciliation. O’Neill develops the dramatic strategy which transcends the spiritual conflict and emphasizes the vision of life through the four Tyrones. What O’Neill pursues ultimately is ‘journey into light.’ From this point of view, Long Day’s Journey into Night may be called ‘Long Night’s Journey into Day.’ (Daeshin University)

        Despite modernist and post-modernist critics’ emphasis on the darker sides of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, it is absurd to deny the comic spirit of the play. Admittedly, the play should not be treated as a fairy tale as was often the case on the Victorian stage, against which the modernist and post-modernist receptions were quite a wholesome antidote. There are, of course, tragic potentials in the play, but, fortunately, they are not actualized thanks to the providential interventions in favor of human beings. Keeping a balanced eye on the play, this paper locates the concord of discord in the dialogues between Theseus and Hippolyta in Act 4 Scene 1 as the theme and aesthetic principle of the play with particular attention to the analogical relations between different plots seen from an optimistic perspective. Shakespeare lived in a time when religious matters were very much important: it was the Reformation era in which the relations between God and man were radically restructured. Protestant theology, for instance, described man as totally depraved so that he was unable to restore himself by any means, but paradoxically righteous enough to be saved by the unconditional grace of God. The optimistic vision represented in A Midsummer Night’s Dream is not irrelevant to the atmosphere of grace preached by the early Reformist theologians such as Luther and Calvin, which was predominant during the first half of Shakespeare’s dramatic career. A Midsummer Nights’ Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most typical comedies in which the optimistic vision of the early Protestantism is well represented.

        다중-클래스 SVM 기반 야간 차량 검출

        Vision based night-time vehicle detection has been an emerging research field in various advanced driver assistance systems(ADAS) and automotive vehicle as well as automatic head-lamp control. In this paper, we propose night-time vehicle detection method based on multi-class support vector machine(SVM) that consists of thresholding, labeling, feature extraction, and multi-class SVM. Vehicle light candidate blobs are extracted by local mean based thresholding following by labeling process. Seven geometric and stochastic features are extracted from each candidate through the feature extraction step. Each candidate blob is classified into vehicle light or not by multi-class SVM. Four different multi-class SVM including one-against-all(OAA), one-against-one(OAO), top-down tree structured and bottom-up tree structured SVM classifiers are implemented and evaluated in terms of vehicle detection performances. Through the simulations tested on road video sequences, we prove that top-down tree structured and bottom-up tree structured SVM have relatively better performances than the others.

        디테일 향상 기법을 적용한 자동차용 열상카메라 개발

        본 논문은 첨단운전자지원시스템(Advanced Driver Assist System, ADAS) 및 자율주행자동차 등에 영상 정보를 제공하는 자동차용 열상카메라를 개발하고 그 영상의 디테일을 향상하기 위한 개선된 기법을 제안한다. 열상카메라는 온도 측정과 야간 영상 확보 등을 목적으로 의료, 산업, 군수 등 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 스마트자동차에서는 야간 영상 확보를 위하여 적용되고 있다. 첨단운전자지원시스템 및 자율주행자동차 등의 영상 센서로 활용되기 위해서는 객체인식이 가능한 수준의 영상 해상도 및 디테일이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 자동차에 적용 가능한 640x480 해상도의 열상카메라를 개발하고 영상의 디테일을 향상하기 위한 BDE(Block-Range Detail Enhancement) 기법을 적용한다. 다양한 주행 환경에서 얻어지는 영상 디테일을 향상하기 위하여 대상 픽셀과 주변 8개의 픽셀 간의 Block-Range 값을 계산하여 5단계로 구분하고 각기 다른 Factor를 가감하도록 함으로써 활용도가 높은 영상을 얻을 수 있도록 한다. 개선된 기법은 130mK의 온도 차이까지 구분함으로써 영상의 어두운 부분도 상대적으로 세밀하게 구분하며, 영상의 밝은 부분과 어두운 부분 모두에서 고른 디테일 향상을 보여준다. 개발된 열상카메라와 디테일 향상 기법을 실차에 적용하고 시험하여 제안된 기법의 개선된 결과를 제시한다. In this paper, the development of an automotive thermal imaging camera providing image information for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist System) and autonomous vehicles is described and an improved technique to enhance the details of the image is proposed. Thermal imaging cameras are used in various fields, such as the medical, industrial and military fields, for the purpose of temperature measurement and night vision. In automobiles, they are utilized for night vision systems. For their utilization in ADAS and autonomous vehicles, appropriate image resolution and enhanced detail are required for object recognition. In this study, a 640x480 resolution thermal imaging camera that can be applied to automobiles is developed and the BDE (Block-Range Detail Enhancement) technique is applied to improve the details of the image. In order to improve the image detail obtained in various driving environments, the block-range values between the target pixel and the surrounding 8 pixels are calculated and classified into 5 levels. Then, different factors are added or subtracted to obtain images with high utilization. The improved technique distinguishes the dark part of the image by the resulting temperature difference of 130mK and shows an improvement in the fine detail in both the bright and dark parts of the image. The developed thermal imaging camera using the improved detail enhancement technique is applied to a test vehicle and the results are presented.

        One of Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV) technique, Night Vision Uses near-infreared of far-infrared to assure the sight. This paper only discuss about the Night Vision Camera, which uses the near-infrared. Night Vision, which uses the near-infrared , doesn't give dazzling to the driver of on-coming traffic and can monitor the road status in night time. it's possible to reduce the blooming, which is the one of reason that affects the image quality of the near-infrared camera by the use of WDR(Wide Dynamic Range)Camera. This paper suggests the improvement of an automotive night vision camera through the near-infrared transmission enhancement, and proves the improvement of image quality by the examination.

        거리측정용 레이저가 야간투시경의 흑점 발생에 미치는 영향 연구

        과거에는 무기체계의 개발 및 운용 시 무기체계의 기본성능 외에 다른 장비에 미치는 영향에 대해 거의 고려하지 않았으나, 현대에 들어와서는 무기체계가 점점 복잡해지고, 다양한 장비와 함께 운용함에 따라 무기체계의 개발 및 운용 시 다른 장비와 상호 미치는 영향에 대해 고려하지 않을 수 없게 되었다. 거리측정용 레이저는 각종 관측장비, 대공포 전자광학추적장치를 포함한 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있으며, 헬기 조종사의 야간투시경 운용 중에 발생한 흑점이 대공포 전자광학추적장치의 거리측정용 레이저에 의해 발생했을 것이라고 추측된 바 있다. 야간투시경에 발생하는 흑점은 야간투시경 운용 중 발생하는 가장 큰 문제로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 거리측정용 레이저가 야간투시경의 흑점 발생에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 흑점 발생 방지방안을 제안하여 향후 야간투시경의 개발 및 운용 시 고려해야 할 사항을 모색하고자 하였다. In the past, only the basic performance of a weapon system is considered when developing and operating them. On the other hand, as weapon systems become increasingly complex and are operated with various equipment, the mutual impact must be considered. Laser range finders are used in a variety of fields, including various observation equipment and anti-aircraft guns. It has been speculated that during the operation of night vision goggles for helicopter pilots, the laser from the electro-optical tracking system (EOTS) of an anti-aircraft gun is incident on the night vision goggles, causing black spots. Black spots in night vision goggles are the biggest problem while operating them. This study examined the effects of laser range finders on the occurrence of black spots in night vision goggles. This paper suggests ways of preventing black spots when developing and operating night vision equipment in the future.
