Schwellenüberwindung im Problemfeld „Das Fremde und das Eigene“ - Die Hesse-Rezeption in Korea

국제화, 세계화가 논의되고, 빠른 속도로 진행되는 현실에서 “낯선 것”과 “자신의 고유함”사이에서 발생하는 대립은 국가 간, 문화 간의 대화를 통한 절충이 가능하다고 보는 이상적 시각과, 반대로 “문명의 충돌”에 대한 위험을 경고하는 시각이 공존한다. 도대체 국제화의 야누스적 면모를 감당할 만한 중간이라는 것이 어떻게 가능할 것인가? 문학의 수용미학이론, 혹은 수용사적 연구는 신일희가 말하는 감당할 만한 중간을 ‘한국, 혹은 동양에서의 헤세수용’에서 제시해줄 수 있을 것 같다. 특히 작가 헤르만 헤세의 경우를 택한 것은 유럽작가로서, 그것도 정통적인 경건주의 기독교 신학에 뿌리박고 있으면서도, 싯다르타, 동방순례, 유리알 유희 같이 아시아의 종교, 불교와 브라만교를, 고대 중국철학의 지혜를 주제로 다루는, 충돌이나 갈등없이 그야 말로 동,서양을 아우르는 헤세의 개방적인 관용의 세계관 때문이다, 이 논문에서는 우선 한국에서의 헤세수용의 연구결과들을 번역물, 한국 작가들에게 끼친 영향, 연구논문 및 연구서, 헤세수용의 근간이 되는 매(개)체 등 순서로 정리해 보았다. 헤세 수용에서 특징적인 것은 인터넷 강국으로서의 한국의 위상을 보여 주는 연구, 해석과 함께 헤세 팬들의 인터넷 활동을 통한 헤세수용의 확장이라는 점이다. 따라서 한국에서의 헤세 수용은 한편에서는 헤세 대중화와 맞물려 있는 것을 관찰할 수 있는데 여기에는 작곡가, 시인, 미술애호가 정신분석 심리학자 등이 참여하고 있으며, 이러한 대중성 내지 다양성은 시대정신에 맞게, 문학이 “읽혀질 뿐만 아니라, 보여지고, 청취되고, 무대에 올려지고, 화폭에 담아지며, 노래로 불려지는” 모습을 보여준다. 이러한 현상들은 단편적이고, 시대의 한계를 넘지 못하는 “오해”에서 기인한다고 할 수 있을지 모르지만, 학술연구를 하는 학자들에게 “달리보기”을 제시해 줌으로써 “풍요로움”으로, 차봉희의 표현을 빌리면, 수용의 “풍요로운 오해 fruchtbare Missverständnisse” 로서 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있다고 본다.

Generally speaking, since Europe and other areas didn’t have much contact between them, each of them has developed their own culture. Therefore, ‘contemporaneity’ and ‘non-contemporaneity’ coexist within these cultures. The intercultural research respects the individuality and the originality of the cultures and acknowledges the difference and the equal value of each culture. The topic which deals with the unique problem of people suits the term ‘Stimme des Volkes(the sound of people)’, which is the sung by people through generations. The sound of people has been used as the self expressions. In other words, folksongs cover the natural life style of the people. They commonly deal with human life like destiny, freedom, love and death and are sung by all people universally. But this song differs from nation to nation because each nation leads different life style in different environment. The intercultural research which consider the uniqueness of the people folksongs contrasts ‘similarity’ and ‘difference’ on the basis of one regular form. We recognize each individual culture and as a result, we have the possibility of intercultural communication among different peoples. After all, when we compare the difference between the two people’s folksongs in different cultures and analyze the expressed thoughts and the world of life in the folksongs, we can approach each culture and understand the two societies better. Furthermore, the purpose of this intercultural research is that ‘das Fremde(the strange)’ to us is added to ‘das Eigene(my own thing)’, which makes new changes and creates new meanings.
