문묘일무는 유교제례무로 공자를 제사하는 춤이다. 한국의 석전(釋奠)과 문묘일무(文廟佾舞), 그리고 중국의 제공(祭孔)과 제공악무(祭孔樂舞)가 바로 공자의 제사와 공자제사무를 지칭하는 양국의 용어로 그 의미는 같다. 그러나 오늘날 한국과 중국은 각기 다른 문화적 양상을 보이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 근대이후 변화 발전을 이룬 한·중 문묘일무의 성격과 현황을 비교분석 하였다. 제Ⅱ장에서 한·중 문묘일무의 유래와 역대 한·중 문묘일무를 조사하였고, 제Ⅲ장에서는 양국 문묘일무의 차이, 즉 공자사당의 명칭, 공자제사의 명칭, 공자제사의 주무기관, 공자제사무의 춤이름, 춤형식, 춤동작과 춤추는 방법, 춤추는 위치 등의 차이를 분석하여 그 내용을 제시하였다. 제Ⅳ장에서는 근대이후 한·중 양국의 복원 방향과 그 내용을 시대별로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 한국은 일제강점기와 대한민국 수립 후의 문묘일무 복원과정을, 중국은 중화민국과 중화인민공화국 시기의 제공악무 복원과정을 조사하여 한·중 문묘일무의 차이와 현황을 비교분석 하였다. 그 결과 한·중 문묘일무는 근대 이후 양국의 시대적 배경과 제도적 차이, 전통계승과 복원의 관점 등 여러 요인에 의해 서로 다른 특성을 갖춘 춤으로 변화되었으며, 공자제사의 성격에 따라 춤사위 또한 각기 다른 표현 양상을 지니게 되었음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 가장 오랜 역사를 지니는 문묘일무는 동양무용의 시원을 이해하고 춤의 역사와 사상, 철학, 춤의 원리와 구조 등을 두루 살필 수 있는 중요한 무용으로, 본 연구가 미래의 무용학연구의 발전 방향을 모색하는데 도움이 되길 기대한다. Both Seokjeon and Munmyoilmu of Korea and Jegong and Jegongakmu of China refered to a memorial service for Confucius and a dance performed at such an occasion, respectively. However, nowadays there were different cultural patterns in them between Korea and China. This study compared and analyzed the nature and current state of Korean and Chinese Munmyoilmu that had undergone changes and developments since the modern times. Chapter Ⅱ examined the origins of Korean and Chinese Munmyoilmu and its performances throughout the history. Chapter Ⅲ analyzed differences between Korean and Chinese Munmyoilmu in the title of Confucius shrine, the name of memorial service for Confucius, the organizing agency of memorial service for Confucius, and the names, forms, movements, methods, and positions of memorial service dance for Confucius, then presenting the results. Chapter Ⅳ examined the restoration directions and results of Korea and China since the modern times by the periods. The findings showed that both Korean and Chinese Munmyoilmu had evolved into a dance with different features from each other due to various factors since the modern times and that there had been different expressive styles in the dance steps between them according to the nature of memorial service for Confucius.
