        정상 성인 휴지종골 입각각도와 자세동요와의 관련성 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between normal adults' resting calcaneal stance position(RCSP) and postural sway. Subjects were 70 normal adults(34 men and 36 women) in their twenties who attend S. University. Postural sway during a single limb stance was measured using the CMS 10 Measuring System when subjects positioned on the balance trainer in their bare foot. RCSP while subjects were standing on the glass plate was measured using the angle tinder after subjects were positioned in prone to divide equally lower leg and calcaneus using the goniometer. The result was as follows. There were significant weak positive correlations between RCSP and postural sway(r=0.362, p<0.01), the leg of the small RCSP within a subject has the small postural sway index($X^2=43.758$, p<0.001). There was no significant difference between groups of rearfoot valgus(RCSp<$2^{\circ}$) and those of rearfoot varus (RCSp>$2^{\circ}$) in the postural sway. In conclusion, there is a weak relationship between increasing the absolute value of RCSP and increasing postural sway.

        편평족 중학생의 고관절 교정 운동 프로그램과 발교정구 착용 유무가 안정시 종골기립 각도, 발목의 가동범위, 코어 근력에 미치는 영향

        Objective : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of hip joint exercises and orthotics on RCSP, ankle``s range of motion, and core muscle strength of middle school students with pes planus. Method : Out of the original pool of 200 students, 60 students with pes planus (RCSP < -2) were selected for the study. The selected 60 students were then divided into four groups. The first group was a combined orthotics and exercise group (12 students), the second was the orthotics-only group (9 students), the third was the exercise-only group (8 students), and the last was the control group (10 students). Exercise groups worked out twice a week for 60 minutes per session over 8 weeks. The independent variables were corrective hip joint exercises and orthotics. The dependant variables consisted of kinematic and kinetic variables. The kinematic variables were RCSP, and ankle``s range of motion (dorsiflexion and plantarflexion). The kinetic variables were muscles forces that consist in core muscle strength, which are hip joint adduction, abduction, and flexion muscles forces. Statistical analysis was performed via SPSS 18.0 with multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and a paired t-test was used. Results : The left foot was more responsive to the treatments, both exercise and orthotics, than the right foot. RCSP improved significantly in the left foot for the first and third groups. Only the first group significantly improved hip joint adduction, abduction, and flexion muscles`` strengths. As for the ankle``s range of motion of the left foot, plantarflexion showed improvement when treated with exercise, orthotics, or both. Conclusion : This study found that exercise is more effective in correcting RCSP and foot orthotics is more effective in reinforcing core muscle strength. Future studies should expand on these results to examine the relationship between the ankle, hip, and pelvis.

        전공과 좌우 양 발에 따른 여대생의 발 유형 분석

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in foot type of female college students according to academic major in both feet. The subjects for this study were 216 female students who took liberal arts classes in Seoul. Dependent variables were students`` field of study -specifically whether or not they majored in physical education. Analysis of students`` foot type and Malalignment Syndrome were measured using Resting Calcaneous Stance Position (RCSP). There were five categories for RCSP angle: Severe Pes Planus (<-5°), Pes Planus (-3°~-4°), Pes Rectus (±2°), Pes Cavus (+3°~+4°), Severe Pes Cavus (>+5°), x2 analysis was χ used for statistical analysis. RCSP for all subjects (432 feet) occurred at the following frequency: Pes Planus(43.9%), Pes Rectus(43.8%), and Pes Cavus(12.3%). These levels were different for physical education majors, with Pes Planus at 42.6%, Pes Rectus at 49.4%, and Pes Cavusat 8.0%. Non-physical education majors exhibited Pes Planus at 45.0%, Pes Rectus at 39.9%, and Pes Cavus at 15.1%, 15.3% (33 subjects) of all students had Malalignment Syndrome, In conclusion, 56.2% of female college students had a foot deformity. There was nearly four times more Pes Planus than Pes Cavus. According to these results, exercise can be prescribed to alleviate foot deformities, especially supination. Severe pronation and supination problems appeared less amongst students not majoring in physical education. Thus, although exercise might be one cause of foot deformity, it can also help resolve problems with over-supination. Further study will be needed to understand and resolve the specific mechanism of over-supination.

      • 대퇴사두근 저항성 등척성 운동이 퇴행성 슬 관절염에 미치는 효과

        This study is aimed to describe improvement of low extremity alignment; a difference of a distance of both knees, a variation of a tibiofemoral angle, and an alteration of an angle change of RCSP(Resting Calcaneal Stance Position) in the participants who have degenerative knee arthritis after a 8-week-``resistant isometric quadriceps femoris muscle strengthening exercise``. Subjects who have degenerative knee arthritis were instructed the ``resistant isometric quadriceps muscle strengthening exercise`` for 50 minutes 3 times a week during 8 weeks. They performed 3 sets right and left 10 times, with 5 seconds rest for each time and 1 minute break for a set. 1) Participants of ``resistant isometric quadriceps muscle strengthening exercise`` showed statistically significant difference of a distance of both knees; 1.27cm between 3.81cm before the exercise and 2.54cm after the exercise. (p<O.01) 2) Subjects displayed statistically significant variation of a left tibiofemoral angle ; 3.90° between 183.90° before the exercise and 180.00° after the exercise. 3) Patients suggested statistically significant alteration of an angle change of left RCSP(Resting Calcaneal Stance Position) ; 7.70° between 17.87° before the exercise and 10.17° after the exercise.

        체육영재 프로그램이 체력과 발 변형에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of exercise on physical fitness and rear foot deformities. Fifty three students from an education center for gifted young athletes in Seoul served for a total of 27 weeks (266.26 hours of exercise). Statistical analysis included the paired t-test was used to evaluate the pre and post test results, the relationship between physical fitness and rear foot deformities was analyzed through Pearson`s correlation via SPSS 18.0. Basic physical fitness elements, such as abdominal muscle strength(t=-3.803, p<.01), agility(t=-10.789, p<.01), and flexibility(t=-4.918, p<.01) were significantly increased after treatment. In addition, all integrated functional physical fitness elements were significantly increased. Finally there was a correlation between abdominal muscle strength and rear foot deformity(r=-.293, p<.05) in post treatment. These results demonstrated that abdominal muscle endurance was related with rear foot deformity. Since the hip rotator cuff plays a strong role in abdominal exercises, these results demonstrated the interconnection between the hips and foot.
