      • ANALYSIS OF FIRE CHARACTERISTICS IN APARTMENT BUILDING THROUGH FULL SCALE EXPERIMENT AND ZONE MODEL SIMULATION

        Fire characteristics of a typical apartment building in Korea was studied through full scale experiment and zone model simulation. The fire was ignited at the living room and allowed to spread to other parts of a single unit in a five storied apartment building. Various data including temperatures, species concentrations, and images were collected in the experiment. A zone model(CFAST) was used to analyze the same apartment building that represents the average households in Korea. The results were compared with a full scale experiments. While CFAST allows one compartment involved with fire, the experiment allowed the fire to spread to other compartments. Therefore, the comparison between experimental data and Zone-Model data is valid until the living-room fire spread to other parts of the apartment. Flashover occurred at approximately 380 seconds in a fire experiment, and at approximately 420 seconds in Zone-Model. Based on all of data between experimental data and Zone-Model data, it is concluded that the safe escape time is about 250 seconds.

        This study was carried out for the settlement and camber of earth dam by the density changes. The testing material was taken five kinds of soil used as banking material and it was compacted by 100, 95, 90, 85 and 80% compaction degree. The results of the settlement of earth dam whose height ranges from 10m to 50m are as follows 1. The more the fine particle (n) increases, the higher the liquid limit (wL) and the lower the dry density (rd) becomes as follows: wL = 10.47+0.32n rd = 2.22-0.0052n rd'= 2.394-0,01647 wL 2. The higher the optimum moisture content (Wo) becomes, the lower the density becomes as follows: rt = 2.68-0.028Wo rd' = 2.578-0.04Wo 3. Most of the consolidation occurs immediately by loading and the more the fine particle increases, the lower the co-efficient of consolidation becomes. 4. The more the fine particle increases and the lower the compaction degree (D) becomes, the lower the pre-consolidation load becomes but on the contrary the compression index becomes higher. Those values are from 0.013 to 0.169. 5. The more the consolidation load (P) increases, the lower the coefficient of volume change (mv) becomes with mv= ap-b 6. The more the lead increases, the higher the settlement ratio (U) becomes with U= (0.6∼1.35)P0.4 7. The more the fine particle (n) increases, the more the settlement of dam occurs with U = anb and 60-80% of the settlement occurs under construction. 8. The camber of dam has higher value in condition that it has more fine particle, poorer compaction and higher Height of dam. In the dam design, twice value of Table 7 is required.

        Today, trade finance has been much developed according to diversification of intermational trade payment method, the different environment of law and economy accross the world, and the development of new advanced techniques in international financial merkets. Of course, reason for the continuous development of trade finance is that there are a lot of necessity for it from the standpoint of every concerned exporters, importers, bankers, and governments. Trade finance may strengthen exporter's international competitiveness and protect exporters and banks who provide them with funding support, from the risks of exporting, which may result in promoting national export. Thus, governments of major developed countries have now their export credit systems which are officially supported, although they admit, on the other hand, its evil influences upon their exporters and national economy. This paper is to investigate U.S. government supported export credit systems including export credit systems supported by our Korean government. For attaining these aims, some implications of trade finance are reviewed in Chapter Ⅰ, the role of government in Chapter Ⅱ, U.S. export credit institutions and its functions in Chapter Ⅲ, And U.S. government supported export credit systems placing an emphasis on Eximbank's programs are investigated in Chapter Ⅳ. In addition, export credit programs by the states are reviewed in Chapter Ⅴ.

        번호이동성제도 시행 이후의 소비자 행동에 관한 실증분석

        우리나라 이동전화시장의 공정한 경쟁을 위해 도입된 번호이동성 제도는 제도 시행이후 시장에 여러 가지 긍정적인 변화를 가져온 것으로 판단된다. 제도 시행이후 가입전환은 증가하였으며, 시장점유율의 차이는 줄어들고 허핀달지수는 지속적으로 내려가고 있는 등 시장구조에 상당한 변화가 일어나 이동전화시장이 더 경쟁적인 상태로 변화하고 있음을 보여 준다. 본 연구는 집계변수 측면에서 확인되는 이러한 이동전화시장의 변화가 번호이동성으로 소비자들의 선택이 더욱 용이해지고 가입전환에 드는 비용이 줄어들어서 발생하는 현상인지를 직접적으로 확인하기 위해 소비자선택모형을 이용하여 시장의 번호이동성제도의 효과를 실증적으로 분석하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 관측되는 가입전환의 증가 현상이 실제로 번호변경에 따르는 비용으로 오랫동안 가입전환을 하지 못했던 소비자들이 대거 번호이동하였기 때문에 나타났다는 본 연구의 실증분석 결과는 전환비용과 번호이동제의 효과 분석에 많은 시사점을 준다.

      • 말초혈액 단핵구와 단핵구 유래 세포주 THP1에서 FcrR 자극에 의해 유도되는 염증반응의 조절기전

        Regulation mechanisms of inflammatory responses induced by FcrR stimulation in human monocytes and monocytic cell line THP1 were investigated. Release of arachidonic acid, which is the precusor for inflammatory mediators, was induced by FcrR stimulation with its ligand human IgG or with anti FcrR mAbs. This response was further increased when FcrR was cross-linked with in-soluble anti-IgG-agarose and soluble anti-IgG Fc specific Fab fragments. These phenomena were shown in both monocyte and THP1. Oxidative burst activity, resulting from generation of reactive oxygen speices, was also induced by FcrR stimulation and further enhanced by cross-linking of Fcr R. Induction mechanisms of inflammatory responses caused by PMA or FcrR stimulations were then examined by measurements of release of arachidonic acid and oxidative burst activity. The results demonstrate that monocytes utilize different signaling pathways for FcrR or PMA stimulation. Signaling mechanism of PMA stimulation is especially dependent on Ca}+/calmodulin dependent kinase in arachidonic acid release, but not in oxidative burst activity. Meanwhile, signaling pathways of FcrR are dependent on tyrosine kinase but independent of protein kinase C both in the release of arachidonic acid and oxidative burst activity. The results suggest that in monocytes, there is a not only functional but also mechanistic link between arachidonic acid release and oxidative burst activity induced upon FcrR stimulation. Distinct signaling pathways seem to be operating in transformed monocytic cell line THP-1 cells, and no mechanistic link was found between arachidonic acid release and oxidative burst activity induced after FcrR stimulation.

        Jewellery & gems industry has been developed with the beginning of ancient human history as all the mankind have a fancy for precious metals and stones regardless of the times and nationality. Historically, Korean also had an excellent workmanship from the ancient era and shipped it, as a tribute, to the neighboring countries. However, our deposits of gold and silver had been almost dried up, especially owing to a lot of excavation during Japanese imperialist rule, And precious stones have not been discovered in Korea except a small quantity of crystal. Therefore, Korea cannot but depend on the processing industry of jewellery and germs by importing the unworked gold, diamond and other precious stones from overseas countries. By the way, recent overseas market of jewellery & germs is very extensive and the value added of the industry is much larger than other industries. So jewellery & gems processing industry is regarded as the most important field in the advanced countries. All the more, the industry is typical of labor-intensive one and is more suitable to the nations whose people are deft-handed. From those points, it is quite appropriate to Korea. Recognizing this facts, Korean government had set up a Jewellery & Gems Export Industry Park in Iri city ten years ago. The bonded industry park has much contributed to export promotion and regional economic development. But there are a lot of room for improvement if we would obtain the anticipated results. So we researchers have studied and analyzed the following points to find some ways for improving the Iri Jewellery & Gems Export Industry Park. ① the history of precious metals & gems industry in both overseas countries and Korea. ② international production status of unworked precious metals & stones, and structure of international trade. ③ business status of exporting companies in Iri Jewellery & Gems Export Industry park; general circumstances, exprot & import structure, employment policy, production & skill, purchasing materials (the unworked stones ) and marketing etc.
