      • Polystyrene composites containing crosslinked polystyrene-multiwalled carbon nanotube balls

        <P>Crosslinked polystyrene-multiwalled carbon nanotube (PS-MWCNT) balls, which act as conductive microfillers, were prepared by the in situ suspension polymerization of styrene with MWCNTs and divinyl benzene (DVB) as a crosslinking agent. The diameters of the synthesized crosslinked PS-MWCNT balls ranged from 10 to 100 μm and their electrical conductivity was about 7.7 × 10<SUP>−3</SUP> S/cm. The morphology of the crosslinked PS-MWCNT balls was observed by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The change in the chemical structure of the MWCNTs was confirmed by Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The mechanical and electrical properties of the PS/crosslinked PS-MWCNT ball composites were investigated. It was found that the tensile strength, ultimate strain, Young's modulus, and impact strength of the PS matrix were enhanced by the incorporation of the crosslinked PS-MWCNT balls. In addition, the mechanical properties of the PS/crosslinked PS-MWCNT ball composites were better than those of the PS/pristine MWCNT composites. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.       • AISI 316 스테인리스강의 크리프-피로 상호작용시 수명예측에 관한 연구

        The effect of tensile hold time on the creep-fatigue interaction in AISI 316 stainless steel was investigated. To study the fatigue characteristics of the material, strain controlled low cycle fatigue(LCF) tests were carried out under the continuous triangular waveshape with three different total strain ranges of 1.0%, 1.5%, and 2.0%. To study the creep-fatigue interaction, 5 min., 10 min., and 30 min. of tensile hold times were applied to the continuous triangular waveshape with the same three total strain ranges. The creep-fatigue life was found to be the longest when the 5 min. tensile hold time was applied and was the shortest when the 30 min. tensile hold time was applied. The cause for the shortest creep-fatigue life under the 30 min. tensile hold time is believed to be the effect of the increased creep damage per cycle as the hold time increases. Under the total strain range of 1%, significant reduction in life was observed as the tensile hold time was increased compared to the result of 2% total strain range. The theoretical prediction obtained by the Modified Coffin-Manson method and the experimental results of creep-fatigue life were found to be in resonable agreement with each other.

      • 대학생들의 물리 개념 오인에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 대학생들이 지니고 있는 전류에 관한 오인의 유형을 조사하고, 사실의 관찰 후에 나타난 유형의 변화를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 방법으로는 학생들이 사실의 관찰 후에 그들의 개념을 어떻게 변화시키는가를 알기위하여 POE(예측, 관찰, 설명) 방법을 이용하였다. 전류에 관한 오인의 유형은 단일극 모형, 충돌모형, 소모성 모형, 분배모형, 순차적 흐름모형, 일정전류 모형으로 나눠볼 수 있다. 연구결과 이들 중 소모성 모형, 순차적 흐름모형, 일정전류 모형은 많은 학생들에게 나타났다. 관찰 전에 나타났던 대부분의 오인의 유형은 관찰 후에 과학자적 개념으로 또는 다른 모형으로 전환되었으나, 소모성을 알 수 있었다. 이처럼 많은 대학생들이 중ㆍ고등학생과 마찬가지로 전류에 관하여 유사한 오인의 유형을 지니고 있었으며, 특히 이러한 오인은 주어진 문제상황에 크게 영향받고 있었다. The study focused to find out the types of misconceptions on electric current and their changes by the observation of the facts falsifying their beliefs. The method used in this study was Prodiction-Observation-Explanation (POE) technique. This method was adopted to observe how students change their conceptions by observation of facts. The identified types, those were called student's model, were unipolar model, clashing model, consumption model, distribution model, battery as constant current source model, and sequential flow model. Among those, consumption model, sequential model, and battery as constant current source model were-frequently observed. Student's concetpions on electric current were changed according to their observation. Battery as constant current source model was appeared before observation. However, it was changed other models such as consumption. In contrary, consumption model, if it were appeared in prediction stage, did not changed very much after observing the phenomenon. In this study the consumption model seemed to be most persistent model. The study concluded that considerable percentage of college students also possess the similar misconceptions that appears in lower school level such as middle schools and high schools. The misconceptions were strongly influenced by problem context.

      • Langmuir-Blodgett막 MIM소자의 전도 특성

        Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method have been used by many researcher because of its facility to control the thickness of film as molecular order and orientation of molecular. We fabricated MIM device using maleate copolymer LB films(2C??MA-VA-VE₂) and electrical conduction mechanism in ultra-thin LB film were investigated. In our experimental results, the maleate copolymer LB film have the property of insulator like organic ultra-thin film. Its dielectric constant were about 4.0∼6.0 by I-V measurement and frequency-capacitance measurement. Schottky current was appeared as electrical conduction current and Schottky barrier was about 0.9[eV]

      • 유지시간 변화에 따른 크리프-피로 수명예측 방법에 관한 연구

        In this study, creep-fatigue tests were carried out under the various test conditions using AISI 316 stainless steel. Life prediction was made by three different methods which are the modified Coffin-Manson method, the modified Ostergen method and the artificial neural network method with the adaptive learning rate. The predicted lives were compared with the experimental results and following conclusions were obtained within the scope of this study. Creep-fatigue life prediction by the modified Coffin-Manson method and the modified Ostegren method had the average error of 47.3% and 50.8% respectively whereas the artificial neural network method had only 28.8% for compressive and tensile+compressive hold time. From the obtained results, the artificial neural network method with the adaptive learning rate was proved to be more accurate and effective than the other two methods. The validity of artificial neural network method for life prediction checked with 3 verification data points proved also to be very satisfactory.

        단 브라우닝(Don S. Browning)의 목회 (실천)신학 방법론

        Pastoral theology is a form of theological reflection in which pastoral experience serves as a context for the critical development of basic theological understanding. This article proposes the need for constructing a critical model of pastoral/practical theology that more adequately addresses ethical and public meanings in our era by critically reviewing Don Browning’s theological method. In this paper, I first review that a significant shift in the subject matter of pastoral theology and care toward public theology has occurred in Don Browning’s theological method in the last decade. Browning has assured Seward Hiltner’s legacy of the study of pastoral and practical theology specifically and hermeneutical methods in Western moral philosophy. In 내 doing, he successfully persuaded some, not all, secular theorists in psychology and other social sciences to ask good questions about religious and ethical assumptions. More recently, Browning has helped put the family and religion not only on the agenda of many theologians, where it had been largely ignored, but also on the wider public agenda in social sciences. This paper points to the analysis of power, which is somewhat neglected in Don Browning’s work. Those individuals and groups without power can be easily oppressed by the moral and religious standards of the powerful. Those without power also may be marginal minorities in mainline society. In closing, this paper implicates those issues for Korean context. If it is true that Browning’s practical theology over the years has neglected the issues of power, it indeed would be a major defect. And yet, his method will help us develop an ethic to strengthen cultural analysis and interdisciplinary work in pastoral care, pastoral/practical theology, and the dialogue between social sciences and theology.

        미디어교육을 위한 웹기반 학습환경 프로토타입 개발

        본 연구는 웹에서 미디어교육을 실시하기 위하여 미디어교육을 위한 웹기반 학습환경의 프로토타입을 개발하는 것이다. 웹 기반 미디어교육의 설계를 위하여 구성주의 인식론을 바탕으로 문제 해결 과정을 중시하는 탐구기반학습을 교수-학습의 원리로 하여 미디어교육을 위한 웹기반 학습환경의 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 문헌연구를 통하여 개발의 이론적 근거를 살피고, 설계 원리와 전략, 구성요소를 도출하여 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 개발한 프로토타입은 미디어 제작과 분석이 탐구를 기반으로 유기적으로 연결되어 미디어 개념을 이해하도록 하였다. 제작에 대한 직접적 경험과 성찰, 전문가 모델링을 이용한 성찰로 지속적인 사고를 하는 탐구순환과, 협력활동과 개별지식구성이 이어지면서 지식 구축을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 웹에서의 다양한 자원들을 이용하면서 활동을 위한 비지시적 안내를 통해 학습자들이 주체적으로 미디어를 사용하고 다양한 시각을 접하면서 비판적이고 창의적인 사고를 할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 프로토타입은 앞으로 웹기반 미디어교육 프로그램의 개발과 활용에 기반이 될 것으로 기대된다. The purpose of this study is to develop a prototype of Web-Based Learning Environment(WBLE) for media education. The necessity of media education is increasing in the knowledge-information society where learners' abilities to use media is strongly demanded. Media education is to develop media literacy, which means that learners can evaluate information obtained from media in a critical mind and communicate and express their ideas in creative ways. In the media environment changing with the development of information technologies, media education must be designed in consideration of the internet space so that learners can actively participate in learning. Changes in media environment and people's expectation for educational effects result in high demands for Web-based media education. Considering its characteristics, media education needs to be approached from the position of constructivism. Seeing from the position, it is necessary to design learning environment that provides learners with learning materials and tools so that they can study by themselves what they want to learn. The Web has potential by nature for realizing learning environment fit for constructivism. Accordingly, this study attempted to develop a prototype of WBLE for media education, taking inquiry-based learning on the basis of constructive epistemology as the learning principle in designing WBLE for media education. The design principles of WBLE on the basis of inquiry-based learning promote learning activities, which are inquiries and reflections on direct experiences, and support collaborative learning and individual knowledge construction. Finally, learners are guided in resource utilization and learning activities, and given directions of learning. This study developed WBLE prototype for media education that determines and reflects design strategies in consistency with the design principles of WBLE according to the characteristics of media education and inquiry-based learning. The developed prototype of learning environment includes 'media room' containing elements related to learning activities, 'collaborative room' for collaborative learning, and 'my room' related to individual knowledge construction. Learners' asynchronous communication, learning materials and results, and resources and links in 'resource room' , which are managed in DB, provide diverse types of information to learners, and suggest the direction of learning through underlying guidance in 'information' and learning activities. In the developed learning environment, learners set topics for inquiry, collaborative to produce media expressing the topics, and manage learning process and schedule by themselves. They continue to reflect through expert modeling while acquiring information about how to produce media from 'media producing process' in 'media room' and analyzing existing media products in 'media inquiry' , and on the other hand, they engage in cyclic inquiry through practicing producing and exchanging influence and develop media literacy. This study proposed WBLE for media education, but it must be improved and complemented through continuous research in the future. First, there should be a plan to induce and motivate learners' active participation. Second, the operation, management and assessment of learning must be taken into account in the developed learning environment. Third, experimental research must be carried out by refining the prototype into an actual system
