      • A Systematic Approach to Apply the Simulation Modeling and Analysis for a Flexible Manufacturing System

        In this article, we propose a systematic approach to apply the simulation modeling and analysis for a flexible manufacturing system which includes a conveyor, AGVs(Automated Guided Vehicle System) and AS/RS(Automated Storage and Retrieval System). This paper presents the design(independent) parameters as objective function and critical(dependent) factors as constraints for the selection of design factors directly. Then the effective and fast solution procedure based on the pareto optimal solution set is proposed. This paper provides a comprehensive framework for the system design using the simulation and metamodels.

      • Detection of p16 Gene Alteration in Cervical Cancer Using Tissue Microdissection and LOH Study

        The p16 gene was identified as cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor (CDKI) and this may negatively regulate the cell cycle by acting as a tumor suppressor. Using tissue microdissection, the molecular changes at p16 and Rb genes were analysed in the spectrum of disease from dysplasia to invasive cancer of the uterine cervix. Six of 27 (22%) cases informative for D9S171 and IFNA of 9p 21-22 marker (p16INK4a) showed loss of one or both alleles in at least one of these loci. HOH of pRb was detected in 29% (5/17). Gene alterations at p16 and pRb loci were only detectable in some cases of HPV-16/18 DNA positive cervical cancer. Three cases demonstrated mutational changes of p16INK4a, and the alterations were determined to be G to T shift, suggesting transitional missense mutation. In summary, the inactivation of the p16/cdk-cyclin/Rb cascade may play an additional role during the malignant progression in HPV-16/18 positive cervical cancers. 1999 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd.       • Simulation Design Method with Operator’s Working Time

        For the current manufacturing processes, there are many systems in which automatic and manual processes coexist. Compatibility of a model is a very important factor to perform correct analysis through simulation. In particular, unit utilization is also a very important factor. Analysis values vary according to how to examine and enter input data necessary for modeling. This study divides processes into automatic and manual ones to suggest how to perform different types of data collection. Automatic process implements data processing based on cycle time per unit while manual one measures cycle time per operator to process data in consideration of shifts per workplace. On completing input data, test for appropriateness is performed, followed by analysis of throughput and the operation rate per unit through a simulation model. Techniques in this study are applicable to general system simulations and will become inevitable for more thorough and accurate analysis.

        신병 초도보급품 지급 자동화 방안

        Every year, about 250,000 new recruits enter the military under the R.O.K military draft system. When the fresh soldier groups arrived at the Recruit Training Center, their supplies are distributed before they get basic military training. The supplies are divided by season, summer and winter. There are 14 class of summer items and 20 class of winter items, and the each class has about a few kinds of items. Totally, there are the hundreds kinds of supplies and the supplies distribution system is manually operated. However, in the current system, many problems such as spending a lot of time, manpower and high change rate due to the inaccurate distribution have been raised. This paper suggests the automated supplies distribution system to solve the above problems. We choose the appropriate facilities in the system by using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and analyse the operating efficiency of the new system by simulation. The new suggested system shows about $39.25\%$ improvement in throughput and 3.75 times reduction of manpower compared to the current system.

        물류시스템 선정 및 평가 시 고려되는 항목에 대한 집단별 중요도 분석

        Due to the development of the Internet, information and communication technology, IT solution is rapidly expanded in manufacturing and logistics fields. Especially in distribution industry, various systems such as TMS(Transportation Management System) are extensively utilized. Therefore, it became a critical issue for manufacturing and logistics companies how to select a proper and efficient distribution system. In this study, four groups, a developer group, a researcher group, a consultant group, and a user group, were divided for system selection and how to choose a distribution system through their decision making processes and research result based on the character of each group was obtained. This research would help the company to decide several evaluation criteria logically and efficiently when the company select an IT solution. Through an AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) Model, the most commonly used model as a decision making method for weighted evaluation criteria, critical factors would be analyzed for a distribution system selection in manufacturing and logistics fields.

        소형 승용차의 파워트레인 마운트 Stop&Go 성능 적용을 위한 의사결정모델

        본 논문은 자동차 환경규제에 따른 CO₂ 감소 및 연비향상을 위하여 Stop&Go 기능을 적용한 소형 승용차에 대한 파워트레인 마운트 (Powertrain Mount) 의 진동 소음 최적화 방향을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 현재 "A" 차량에 적 용중인 파워트레인 마운트 시스템을 분석한 후 다구찌 기법을 활용하여 파워트레인 마운트에 적용된 고무 동특성에 대한 다양한 변수를 제시하였고, 고무의 동특성 변수에 의해 만들어진 테스트 제품을 AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) 기법을 적용하여 Stop&Go 기능에 적합한 진동 소음의 최적화 정도를 검증하였다. 이와 같은 시스템을 파워트레인 마 운트의 초기 디자인 검증에 적용함으로써, 파워트레인 마운트의 고무 동특성에 대한 엔지니어링 노하우 (Engineering Know-How) 없이도 엔진의 움직임으로 야기되는 진동 소음의 문제점을 파악하고 이를 효과적으로 제어하는데 큰 역할을 할 것으로 예상된다. This study presents a model to minimize vibration and noise of powertrain mount on a compact car which has the application of Stop & Go performance, in order to reduce CO₂ and achieve better fuel-efficiency in accordance with the environmental regulations in automotive industries. In the first step, we analyze the powertrain mount system of the automobile “A” and present variables about rubber stiffness applied on powetrain mount using the Taguchi method. In the next step, we verify the optimization of vibration and noise which meet Stop & Go performance using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method on the proto products for each variable. Using this validation system on the initial stage of the powertrain mount design, it is expected that we can grasp vibration and noise problems caused by engine movements and control them effectively without engineering know-how about powertrain mount rubber stiffness.

        설계 변수 선택을 위한 시뮬레이션 기반 최적화

        최근 시뮬레이션 최적화를 통한 입 출력 변수의 분석에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이와 같은 연구에서 메타모델을 활용한 기법이 많이 제시 되고 있는데, 대부분은 중요(종속) 변수를 목적함수로, 설계(독립) 변수를 제약 조건으로 다목적 최적 함수를 구성하여 실험을 진행하고 최적해를 찾는다. 본 논문에서는 직접적인 설계 변수의 선택을 하기 위하여 설계 변수를 벡터의 형태로 전환하여 목적함수로 구성하고, 설계 변수의 정의역과 회귀 메타모델을 이용하여 제약조건을 구성하여 다목적 최적 함수를 구성하여 파레토 최적해 집합을 산출 하는 방법을 제시 하였다. 이와 같은 분석을 사용하여 최적해의 개념이 아닌 최적해 집합을 제시함으로서 설계자가 자신의 시스템에 가장 적당한 설계 변수의 선택이 가능해 지며, 메타모델의 에러 변수($\epsilon$)를 줄이기 위한 대안의 선택도 가능 할 것이다. 이와 같은 분석 기법은 관련 분야뿐 아니라 일반적인 시스템 설계 변수의 적용에도 충분히 이용이 가능 할 것이다. In this article, we propose a different modeling approach, which aims at the simulation optimization so as to meet the design specification. Generally, Multi objective optimization problem is formulated by dependent factors as objective functions and independent factors as constraints. However, this paper presents the critical(dependent) factors as objective function and design(independent) factors as constraints for the selection of design factors directly. The objective function is normalized far the generalization of design factors while the constraints are composed of the simulation-based regression metamodels fer the critical factors and design factor's domain. Then the effective and fast solution procedure based on the pareto optimal solution set is proposed. This paper provides a comprehensive framework for the system design using the simulation and metamodels. Therefore, the method developed for this research can be adopted for other enhancements in different but comparable situations.

        진화전략과 DEA를 이용한 통합 물류 시스템 분석 방법

        The focus of this study is to represent a methodology of analysis for integrated logistic system by means of the Evolution Strategies and Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). The integrated logistic system is composed of AS/RS (Automated Storages and Retrieval System), AGVs(Automated Guided Vehicle System) and Conveyor System. We design the simulation alternatives with choosing the qualitative critical factors for the each subsystem. Evolution Strategies is used to optimize the quantitative critical factors and responses of each alternative. DEA is applied to measure the efficiency of the alternatives in order to select the optimal operation efficiency scheme. The method of analysis which combines Evolution Strategies with DEA can be used to analyze the qualitative and quantitative critical factors in the integrated logistic systems.

      • 시뮬레이션을 이용한 고속철도 차량기지 설계 최적화

        This paper presents a simulation-based optimal design method for the design of the train depot. Because the train depot is composed of each subsystems such as car body and wheel workshop, the train is divided into car, car body and wheel for the process analysis and we design the simulation model. In simulation analysis, we consider the dependent variables and independent parameters. Therefore, the Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) is used for selecting the alternatives and simulation optimization is proposed for finding the optimal design parameters of the selected alternative by using evolution strategy. The case study for the above design process is applied to the KTX-Ⅱ(High-Speed Railway) Train Depot. This paper provides a general design and analysis framework for the train depot design with using the simulation.
