Cooperative Communication in Multi-hop Wireless Networks
Tran Trung Duy(창 충 두이),Hyung-Yun Kong(공형윤) 대한전기학회 2010 정보 및 제어 심포지엄 논문집 Vol.2010 No.4
In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative communication protocol (NCCP) in multi-hop wireless networks. Due to broadcast nature, the destination can receive the signal from the source or from the relay nodes on the established route. If the destination can not receive correctly the signal, it will request re-transmission(s) from the successful relay(s). Theoretical results are derived and verified by simulation results.

In this paper, we propose a hybrid decode-amplify-forward incremental cooperative diversity protocol using SNR-based relay selection. In the proposed protocol, whenever destination unsuccessfully receives the source's signal, one of relays that exploit hybrid decode-amplify-forward technique is chosen to retransmit the signal. We derive approximate closed-form expressions of outage probability and average channel capacity. Monte-Carlo simulations are presented to verify the theoretical results and compare the performance of the proposed protocol with the direct transmission protocol and conventional incremental relaying protocols.

This paper considers physical-layer security protocols in multicast cognitive radio (CR) networks. In particular, we propose dual-hop cooperative decode-and-forward (DF) and randomize-and-forward (RF) schemes using partial relay selection method to enhance secrecy performance for secondary networks. In the DF protocol, the secondary relay would use same codebook with the secondary source to forward the source`s signals to the secondary destination. Hence, the secondary eavesdropper can employ either maximal-ratio combining (MRC) or selection combining (SC) to combine signals received from the source and the selected relay. In RF protocol, different codebooks are used by the source and the relay to forward the source message secretly. For each scheme, we derive exact and asymptotic closed-form expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP), non-zero secrecy capacity probability (NzSCP) in both independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) and independent but non-identically distributed (i.n.i.d.) networks. Moreover, we also give a unified formula in an integral form for average secrecy capacity (ASC). Finally, our derivations are then validated by Monte-Carlo simulations.
Multi-Hop Cooperative Transmission Using Fountain Codes over Rayleigh Fading Channels
Tran Trung Duy,Alagan Anpalagan,Hyung-Yun Kong 한국통신학회 2012 Journal of communications and networks Vol.14 No.3
In this paper, we study multi-hop cooperative transmission protocols using fountain codes. The proposed protocols can reduce the end-to-end delay and number of stages compared to those in conventional multi-hop transmission. VariousMonte-Carlo simulations are presented to evaluate and compare performance of the protocols over Rayeigh fading channels.
Multihop Transmission Protocol Using Cooperative Diversity over Rayleigh Fading Channel
Tran Trung Duy,Jong-Soo Kim 한국전자파학회JEES 2012 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.12 No.2
In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative routing protocol (NCRP) for wireless networks. The proposed protocol uses cooperative transmission to improve end-to-end outage probability. The broadcast nature ensures that the destination can receive a packet from the source or from the relays and if it cannot correctly decode the packet, the successful relays will start a retransmission. The NCRP protocol can skip some transmissions from the intermediate relays, thereby reducing the total power consumption. Theoretical results are derived and verified by simulation results.

In this paper, we propose a novel protocol called Cooperative Multi-hop transmission using Incremental Relaying (CMIR). We evaluate the performance of the CMIR protocol by deriving expressions for the average end-to-end outage probability and the average number of transmissions. Monte Carlo simulations are presented to verify the accuracy of the theoretical analyses.

In this paper, we evaluate performances of dual-hop decode-and-forward relaying systems with the Nth best-relay selection scheme. In some schemes, such as scheduling or load balancing schemes, the best relay is unavailable and hence the system must resort the second best, third best, or generally the Nth best relay. We derive the expressions of the outage probability and symbol error rate (SER) for this scenario over Rayleigh fading channels. Monte-Carlo simulations are presented to verify the analytical results.
Cooperative Communication with Different Combining Techniques in One-Dimensional Random Networks
Tran Trung Duy,Hyung-Yun Kong 한국전자파학회JEES 2012 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.12 No.1
In this paper, we investigate cooperative transmission in one-dimensional random wireless networks. In this scheme, a stationary source communicates with a stationary destination with the help of N relays, which are randomly placed in a one-dimensional network. We derive exact and approximate expressions of the average outage probability over Rayleigh fading channels. Various Monte-Carlo simulations are presented to verify the accuracy of our analyses.
