        한용운과 그의 시대 2

        Recently people are raising their voices over the examination and settlement of the past. However, pro-Japanese is a heartbreaking issue for all of us, that cannot be disputed simply based on results or motives. Evaluation of literary works and writers during the period of Japanese imperialism must be made comprehensively in the other-centered study. Nevertheless, it seems that Han Yong-Un's literature and life are framed to be a cultural form necessary for maintaining our historical identity out of obsession to the settlement of the past. This article is my secondary study to inquire into the question. Han Yong-Un is mainly concerned with liberation. This is evidenced by his daughter's memory. She said "my father was a politician". and Lee Neung-hwa evaluated Han Yong-Un with a reformative Buddhist monk who advocated Destruction first construction second. Since he tried to publish The Theory of Chosun new Buddhism(『朝鮮佛敎維新論』,1913) and The Encyclopedia of Buddhism(『佛敎大典』,1914) and to establish the Buddhist Alliance(1914) after the failure of the Imjejong(臨濟宗) movement(1912), his absence from the Buddhist circle from September 1914 to September 1916 showed that he could not do by the resistance of the Buddhist circle under the influence of the government-general. Realizing that the true value is discovered only after passing through the present reality damaged, he, who had been alienated from the Buddhist circle, came back to Gyeongseong(京城=Seoul) in autumn 1916. His article Three Days with Old Paintings and Calligraphic Works(『古書畵의 三日』) published in MaeilShinbo(『每日申報』,1916.12.7-15) draws attention as a turning point of his life and literature. He had visited enlightenment thinker O Se-chang, who had collected a lot of old paintings and calligraphic works, and recognized the meaning of tradition and history, watching genuine works created by 1,291 ancestors throughout 1,200 years. There he also met writers of Yusim(『惟心』,1918) that he would publish later and the leaders of the 3.1 Movement(1919). In addition, he had sought for historical lessons and superiorities in moral culture through criticizing the contents and ideas of old paintings and calligraphic works rather than appreciating them aesthetically. Such neo-traditionalism shows a sense of history more actively than the leaders of Enlightenment that advocated the power of education and economy without independence in the 1910s, critical affirmation of tradition distinguished from the denial of tradition, and an utilitarian viewpoint with the purpose of digging up historical lessons different from the classicism of the Moonjang(『文章』) group in the 1930s who pursued aesthetic cognition through affective rapport with antiques. Confirming through the impressive experience that remains from the past are the root of peoples spiritual life, he advocated mindculturalism armed with moral culture and practical action and found a starting point for making a breakthrough in the reality of a colony swept by material civilization. Here the most noteworthy book is Jeongseongangeui Chaegeundam(『精選講義 菜根譚』,1917).

        WDM-PON(Wavelength Division Multiplexer) was known as solution of ultimate FTTH(Fiber-To-The-Home) in big city and internet network. Optical module part among whole system is the most difficult technologically, it is getting into bottle-neck of development. Quality, all prices are many up to now assignments to be satisfied, it can be said that is early phase. In this treatise I wish to develop WDM-PON Bi-Di Ferrule polishing machine and a polishing technology that use ferule polishing horn in Bi-Di that is an existing technology.

        소양호의 어류군집 동태

        2001년 4월부터 2002년 9월까지 소양호의 어류군집 동태를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 조사된 어류는 총 11과 38종이었다. 한국 고유종은 P. tenuicorpus, C. splendidus, S. gracilis majimae, S. japonicus coreanus, H. mylodon, G. brevibarba, M. yaluensis, M. longidorsalis, C. koreensis, C. rotundieaudata, S. microdorsalis, P. koreanus, L. andersoni, C. herzi, O. patycephala 등 15종(40.54%)이었다. 우점종은 Z. platypus(39.60%), H. olidus(39.47%), S. gracilis majimae(12.24%), S. japonics coreanus(2.11%), P. fulvidraco(1.48%), L. macrochirus(1.40%) 등이었다. 채집된 어종들의 생체량을 보면 Z. platypus가 19.48㎏, H. olidus로 8.75㎏, C.cuvieri 7.42㎏, L. maeroehirus 7.39㎏, H. labeo 6.85㎏의 순으로 나타났다. 소양호에서 확인된 도입종은 A. japonica, H. eigenmanni, H. olidus, P. altivelis, C. urotaenius, R. giurinus, T. brevispinis, C. carpio(Israeli type), c. euvieri, Onchorhynchus mykiss, L. macrochirus, M. salmoides, I. puntatus 등 13종이었다. 이 중 C. carpio(Israeli type), C. cuvieri, Onchorhynchus mykiss, L macrochirus, M. salmoides, I. puntatus는 국외종이며, A. japonica, H. eigenmanni, H. olidus, P. altivelis, C. urotaenius, R. giurinus, T. brevispinis 등은 국내 다른 하천ㅇ로부터 유입된 종이다. The dynamics of the fish community in Lake Soyang, Korea, was investigated from April 2001 to September 2002. During the surveyed period 38 species belonging 11 families were collected. There were 15 Korean endemic species 39.47%, including Pseudopungtungia tenuicorpus, Coreoleuciscus splendidus, Squalidus gracilis majimae, S. japonicus coreanus, Hemibarbus mylodon, Gobiobotia brevibarba, Microphysogobio yaluensis, Microphysogobio longidorsalis, Iksookimia koreensis, Iksookimia rotundicaudata, Silurus microdorsalis, Pseudobagrus koreanus, Liobagrus andersoni, Coreoperca herzi, and Odontobutis platycephala. Dominant species were Zacco platypus (39.60%), Hypomesus olidus (31.70%), Squalidus gracilis majimae (12.24%), Squalidus japonicus coreanus (2.11%), Pseudobagrus fulvidraco (1.48%) and Lepomis macrochirus (1.40%). The biomass of collected fishes were Zacco platypus (19.48 ㎏), Hypomes olidus (8.75 ㎏), Carassilus cuvieri (7.42 ㎏), Lepomis macrochirus (7.39 ㎏) and Hemibarbus labeo (6.85 ㎏). Of the 13 introduced fishes in Lake Soyang Cyprinus carpio (israeli type), Carassius cuvieri, Onchorhynchus mykiss, Lepomis macrochirus, Micropterus salmoides and Ictalurus puntatus were originated from foreign countries but Anguilla japonica, Hemiculter eigenmanni, Hypomesus olidus, Plecoglossus altivelis, Chaenogobius urotaenius, Rhinogobius giurinus. Thridentiger brevispinis were introduced from other native river systems.

        Non-destructive test on the size and depth of cracks has been required for the safety evaluation of structures. Ultrasonic method based on laser techniques is one of the most popular non-destructive methods which overwhelm PZT based tests. In the present paper, ultrasonic was generated by high powered Q switching Nd:YAG pulse laser. Experiments were carried out using Fabry-Perot interferometer which was intensively discussed in the present study.

        KAL기 추락에 의한 대량재해의 개인식별

        Individual identification is an important part in medicolegal field especially in mass disaster. At July, 27, 1989, KAL KE-803 was crashed on landing at Tripoli International Airport, Liba. The plane was caught in fire and sixty eight Koreans were sacrified. The majority of victims were severely charred and injured. The authors examed all dead bodies and successfully identified all the cases through visual, anthropological, odontological, radiological and pathological methods including fingerprint and blood typing.

        <P><B>Introduction</B></P><P> Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by persistent upper dyspeptic symptoms without organic lesions. There is no standard therapy for FD. Yukgunja-tang (YGJT) is an herbal medicine used for treating upper gastrointestinal symptoms in Asia. Studies on the effect of YGJT on FD have been conducted. However, the results were inconsistent. In<I> Hyungsang</I> medicine, traditional Korean medicine, FD patients are classified into bladder body (BB) or gallbladder body (GB) subtypes by the shape and angle of their faces. Each subtype may have different characteristics, physiology, and pathology of the same disease. YGJT is more effective for patients with BB subtype. The three-dimensional facial shape diagnostic system (3-FSDS) was shown to be effective in diagnosing BB or GB subtypes. This study aimed to investigate the effect of YGJT on FD patients classified using the 3-FSDS.</P><P><B> Materials and Methods</B></P><P> The current study was a placebo-controlled, double-blinded, randomized, two-center trial. Eligible patients were diagnosed with either BB or GB FD subtype using the 3-FSDS. Ninety-six participants (48 BB and 48 GB subtypes) were randomly allocated to treatment or control groups in a 2:1 ratio. YGJT or placebo was administered for eight weeks. The primary outcome was assessed using the total dyspepsia symptom scale (TDS), while the secondary outcomes were assessed using the single dyspepsia symptom scale (SDS), proportion of responders, visual analog scale, Nepean dyspepsia index, functional dyspepsia-related quality of life, and spleen qi deficiency questionnaire.</P><P><B> Results and Discussion</B></P><P> The result of TDS showed the superior effect of YGJT on BB over GB subtype. The subgroup analysis of TDS and SDS scores showed the superior effect of YGJT over placebo. Other outcome variables did not show any significant differences between groups.</P><P><B> Conclusion</B></P><P> YGJT may be considered for FD patients diagnosed with BB subtype using 3-FSDS.</P>

        Pressure Dependence of Acoustic Properties of Liquid Ethanol by using High-pressure Brillouin Spectroscopy

        Brillouin spectroscopy has been widely used for the investigation of acoustic properties of condensed matters in the hypersonic region. A high-pressure Brillouin spectrometer was set up by combining a diamond anvil cell and a tandem multi-pass Fabry-Perot interferometer. It was successfully applied to liquid ethanol, and the pressure dependence of the sound velocity, the refractive index and other acoustic properties were derived based on the measurements. The detailed optical setup and experimental procedure are described.
