An all‐solution‐processed flexible piezoelectric nanogenerator, composed of polycrystalline ZnO thin film and functional polymer layers such as P3HT/PCBM and PEDOT:PSS, generates energy through a mechanical rolling and muscle stretching system. On page 6022, Youn Sang Kim, Sang‐Woo Kim, and co‐workers show that this all‐solution‐processed nanogenerator is feasible as a piezoelectric patchable device and is promising for use in future energy harvesters such as wearable human patches and mobile electronics.

The technological effects of Makgeolli lees fiber (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0%) on chicken salt-soluble breast meat proteins in a model system on proximate composition, physicochemical properties, and textural properties were investigated. Makgeolli lees fiber was obtained from Makgeolli brew processing, and the by-products showed good dietary fiber. The moisture and ash contents, water holding capacity, redness, yellowness, hardness, and apparent viscosity of chicken salt-soluble meat protein heat-induced gel systems with Makgeolli lees fiber were all higher than the control without Makgeolli lees fiber. However, protein solubility and electrophoretic patterns did not differ among the control and treatments with Makgeolli lees fiber samples. The chicken salt-soluble protein heat-induced gel systems incorporating Makgeolli lees fiber had improved water holding capacity, textural properties, and viscosity due to Makgeolli lees fiber addition. These results suggest that the addition of 4.0% Makgeolli lees fiber to gel is helpful to improve the physical properties of heat-induced gels.

A Case of Glomeruloid Hemangioma in a Patient with Multicentric Castleman`s Disease
Rho, Nark Kyoung,Lee, Eil Soo,Park, Sang Jin,Lee, Dong Youn The Korean Dermatological Association 2002 Annals of Dermatology Vol.14 No.4
Glomeruloid hemangioma is a histologically distinctive cutaneous angioma which is rarely described in patients with POEMS (polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, M-protein, and skin changes) syndrome and multicentric Castleman's disease. We report an additional case of glomeruloid hemangioma in a 30-year-old Korean woman with multicentric Castleman's disease showing features of POEMS syndrome. Histopathology revealed multiple dermal dilated vascular spaces composed of a conglomerate of capillaries, resulting in structures reminiscent of renal glomeruli. Periodic acid-Schiff-positive and diastase-resistant eosinophilic globules were found within the cytoplasm of vacuolated endothelial cells. The endothelial cells lining the capillary loops showed positive immunostaining for factor Ⅷ-related antigen and CD31.
Ownership of Long-Term Care Facility and Incidence of Pressure Ulcers among Republic of Korea

Background: In 2008, Korea implemented a new type of social insurance known as “long-term care insurance”. We examined the association between ownership of long-term care facilities and the incidence of pressure ulcers after the implementation of “long-term care insurance”. This study is a population-based retrospective cohort study from 2006 to 2013. Methods: We used medical claims data from the Korean National Health Insurance Corporate Elderly Cohort Database from 2006 to 2013. These data comprise a nationally representative sample. To avoid confounders, only patients admitted to one long-term care facility and who stayed for >70% of the follow-up time were included; as a result, 3,107 individuals were enrolled. The main independent variable was the operating entity of the long-term care facility (local government, corporate bodies, and private for-profit owners), and the dependent variable was the 1-year incidence of pressure-ulcers. Survival analysis (Cox proportional hazard model) was used as an analysis method. Results: Compared to patients admitted to local government long-term care facilities, patients admitted to private long-term care facilities had a significantly higher 1-year risk of pressure ulcers (hazard ratio [HR], 1.94; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.29-2.91); the risk was especially high among patients who were cognitively dependent (HR, 2.34; 95% CI, 1.25-4.37). Conclusion: Patients admitted to private for-profit long-term care facilities were more likely to have pressure ulcers compared to those in local government and corporate body long-term care facilities. Appropriate assessment tools and publicly available information, as well as more restricted legal requirements, are needed to improve the care quality and outcomes of patients in long-term care facilities.
A pressure-assisted metal printing is demonstrated to adopt in mass printing production. Various metal patterns were faithfully transferred without cracks and deformations from Au deposited rigiflex stamp onto a substrate, because poly(dimethylsiloxane) molecules on the surface of the rigiflex stamp helped in the release of the deposited metal from the stamp's surface.

Graphic Abstract

Crack-free Au patterns are faithfully transferred to the substrate by pressure-assisted metal printing with an anti-adhesive rigiflex stamp.

Abstract

Purpose

We aimed to investigate the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features and clinicopathologic factors with recurrence of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).

Patients and methods

We identified 281 patients with 288 surgically confirmed TNBC lesions who underwent pretreatment MRI between 2009 and 2015. The presence of intratumoral high signal on T2-weighted images, high-signal rim on diffusion-weighted images (DWI), and rim enhancement on the dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI and clinicopathological data were collected. Cox proportional analysis was performed.

Results

Of the 288 lesions, 36 (12.5%) recurred after a median follow-up of 18 months (range, 3.6–68.3 months). Rim enhancement (hazard ratio [HR] = 3.15; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.01, 9.88; p = .048), and lymphovascular invasion (HR = 2.73, 95% CI = 1.20, 6.23; p = .016) were independently associated with disease recurrence. While fibroglandular volume, background parenchymal enhancement, intratumoral T2 high signal, and high-signal rim on DWI, were not found to be risk factors for recurrence.

Conclusion

Pretreatment MRI features may help predict a high risk of recurrence in patients with TNBC.
