      • Stroke에서 감압적 개두술, 정위적 조직 생검과 병리적 소견 고찰 : 중증 제뇌탈출을 동반한 초급성 뇌경색과 신경교종 내 출혈 감별 To differentiate the Herniated hyperacute Cerebral Infarction from the Glioma bleeding

        The authors in this manuscript aimed to provide a practical importance of the differential diagnosis of intracranial brain tumor with emphasis on non-neoplastic abnormalities such as cytotoxic edema of the penumbra zone in strokes. The well known SOLs are cerebral ischemic, inflammatory and dysplastic lesions, which intraaxially imitate glioma and other neurogenic tumors. Brain tumor is the one of common intracranial space-occupying lesions (SOLs) on the diagnostic images. However, many non-neoplastic lesions may be indistinguishable from tumors. Especially, early mortality used to be caused by space-occupying hyperacute ischemic stroke, brain edema and herniations. For the retrospective analysis, the authors reviewed the patient charts, the emergency brain Computerized Tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), clinical stroke history. From Jan. 2003 to Dec. 2003, we managed total 61 acute strokes in ICU. Even though we operated six decompressive craniotomies, nine stereotactic craniotomies including two procedures of brain biopsy and three extraventricular drainage procedures, three patients (4.91%) were finally expired out from the induced herniation and medullary failure by those aggressive strokes. 43 patients (70.5%) were recovered good from stroke attack. 15 patients (24.6%) were improved with residual neurologic deficits. In conclusion, aside from growing efforts of the radiologist to make the early diagnostic impression, the authors suggest that urgent neurosurgical explorations with the pathologic diagnostic decision should be requested to decrease the fatality.

      • 거리 패션에 나타난 코디네이션 경향 연구 : 1996년 S/S 시즌 서울을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to research of the coordination trends in Seoul which is the capital of Korea. The study focuses especially on the spring & summer season of 1996. For the study, 375 photographs were taken at 8 of the more fashionable streets. The results are as follow; 1) May of the styles were revival from the 1960's. For example, clean mode suit hip bone pants, fit & flare line skirt, black & white color. 2) There was also a boom in T-shirts which had the names of foreign universities printed on them most of these were hooded sweat shirts made from terry cloth. This shows the preference for studying at the leading private universities abroad. 3) The fashion styles are now seasonless : temperature is not any longer a conclusive factor for choosing clothes, this season, some winter apparel appeared in fashion styles worn in warm weather. For example, western style boots, shinny white long boots and wide hair band which are influenced by ski wear. This shows that consumers prefer certain fashion items no matter what season it is.

      • Purge & Trap-GC를 이용한 의약품 필름코팅 정제 중 잔류용제에 관한 연구

        의약품은 약물을 생체에 적풋하기 위하여 유효성분의 효과가 언제나 일정하게 확보되고 사응에 편리하도록 만들어지는 것이므로 유효썽분 이외에 약효에 영향을 주지 않는 성분이 첨가되는 경운가 많다. 이 때 사용되는 용매들은 제피의 광택 및 건쪼시간의 단축 등을 위하여 휘발점이 낮을 용매들이 주로 사용되어진다. 본 연구는 의약품 필름코팅정제 중 잔류용매 4종(chlorofonr benzen, trichloro ethylen, 1,4-dioxane)에 대한 변형된 pirge & trap-GC 장치를 이용한 동시분석방법을 개발하였으며, 각 표준품의 RSD 값은 chloroform 3.03%, benzen 3.17%, trichloroethylen 3.69% and 1,4-dioxane 3.41%였다. 또한 시중 유통중인 의약품 50종에 대하여 잔류웅매 양을 측정하였으며, 검출되는 잔류용매는 한 건도 없었다. This study nras carried out to develope the analytical method for the mixture of chlorefonn, benzen, trichloroethylen and 1,4-dioxane simultaneously and determine the remainingorgauic solvents in coating tablets by Purge & Trap-GC. The results were as follouFs ; 1. Chloroform, benzen, trio:tloroethylen and 1,4-dioxane separated by tenax #5 trap by HP-624GC column by terrlperature programming. The peaks were separated completely at retentiontime of 6.88min for chloroform, 8.21min for benzen, 10.38miu for trichloroethylen and 11.95minfor 1,4-dioxane. 2. Standard RSD were individually chloroform 3.03%, benzen 3.17%, trichloroethylen 3.69%and 1,4-diorane 3.41%. 3. 60 samples were not detrcted chloroform, benzen, trichloroethylen and 1,4-dioxane.

      • Performance of a Biofilter for Odor Removal during Manure Composting

        Odor generated during composting of livestock manure is mainly due to ammonia emission. Biofiltration is a desirable method to control composting odor. This study was conducted to analyze the efficiency of using fresh compost as a biofilter. A mixture of cattle manure and recycled compost was composted in a bin equipped with a suction-type blower. The exhaust gas was filtered through the fresh compost. Residence time was controlled by the flow rate of exhaust gas and the depth of filtering materials. At the aeration rate of 30 L/min(experiment Ⅰ), ammonia reduction rate varied from 100% to -15% for biofilter A(residence time 56.5 s) and almost 100% for biofilter B(residence time 113 s). At the aeration rate of 30 L/min, the cumulative ammonia reduction rate was 80.5% for biofilter A and 99.9% for biofilter B. At the aeration rate of 50 L/min(experiment Ⅱ), the lowest reduction rate showed a negative value of -350% on the 8th and 9th day for biofilter A(residence time 33.9 s), and 50% on the 10th day for biofilter B(residence time 67.8s). At the aeration rate of 50 L/min, the cumulative ammonia reduction rate was 82.5% for biofilter A and 97.4% for biofilter B. Filtering efficiency was influenced by residence time. The moisture content(MC) and total nitrogen(T-N) of the filtering material were increased by absorbing moisture and ammonia included in the exhaust gas, while pH was decreased and total carbon(T-C) remained unchanged during the filtering operation.

        Effects of Mechanochemical Pretreatment on the Extraction of Functional Materials from Houttuynia cordata

        Houttuynia cordata is used as a raw material of oriental medicine to acquire antioxidant and anti cancer effect and to cure a heart disease. Mechanochemical technology not only reduces the size of the object but also changes the chemical properties of the object. Extraction of functional materials from the Houttuynia cordata after grinding as a pretreatment using the mechanochemical technology was conducted in this study to investigate the effect of grinding on the yields and antioxidant activities of the extract. Houttuynia cordata was ground by the planetary ball mill and the morphology was analyzed by SEM. Yields of functional materials were increased from 6.2 g in the sample without grinding to 7.0, 7.8, 8.8 g after grinding of 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours, respectively. Nitrite scavenging abilities were increased from 57-77% to 69-86% as a result of mechanochemical pretreatment. Also, DPPH scavenging abilities for the methanol extraction were increased from 10.01-40.29% to 11.01-49.29% as a result of mechanochemical grinding.

        동시베리아 샤만 복식

        The purpose of this research is to find out the role of shaman`s costume in Yakut, Yukachir, Goldi. The results are as follows : 1. Yakut shaman`s costumes are decorated by their worship symbols made from metals-wild ducks, crucian carps, diving beetles and fishes. They believe that these costumes help shamans to travel the heaven, underwater, or underground systems to collect wanted information transforming them into the shape of decorated animals. 2. Yakutchir shaman`s costumes are decorated by symbolized cross medals in the shape of birds and human, designed backbone which give shamans much power and many different kinds of medals and tassels representing all sorts and conditions of shaman`s power. They consider their costumes as feather and believe they give them new power and make them to fly anywhere they want. 3. Goldi shaman`s costumes have paintings of animal guardians-leopards, tigers, bears, birds, snakes, lizards and so on. Birds represents freedom of the spirit and eternity, snakes represents rebirth and immorality and lizards represent the trees of underground, the earth and the lifetrees of the heaven. Shamans ascend through the holy tree to the heaven and to the world of underground in a comatose condition. Shaman costume itself plays the role of the spiritual safeguard. Wearing their costume shaman get all animal`s supernatural authority and power. This makes the shaman to contact with the spirit and to travel the heaven and the underground world.

Currently eight CDM projects are hosted in Korea under Kyoto protocol. Six of these CDM projects are related to renewable energy power generation. Renewable energy power plants assumes zero GHGs emission and has great potential to become CDM projects which is very environmental friendly energy Gangwon wind park CDM project is the first renewable CDM project in Korea. In this research, emission factors and additionality proving process are studied, which are important procedures of doing CDM project.

        팔레스타인의 여성 복식 고찰

        Palestein had been a part of Islamic culture before Israel was established after World War Ⅱ and their daily lives had been totally affected by the Koran, Consequently, the idea of clothing, types of women clothes and it`s characteristics reflected in the Koran have been studied and the results are as follows: First, the idea of clothing reflected in the Koran emphasizes the equality of the sexes and treats women as men`s equal partner. Second, in the Koran there is almost no reference on men`s clothes, but it only recommends women to wear veil to cover their faces and bodies when they go out. The Koran argues that it is not to restrict women but to protect them. Third, due to it`s geographical location, Palestinian clothes and been affected by it`s neighboring areas, and the gumbaz-a kind of coat-is one of the examples of Turkish origin. In the beginning the gumbaz had been worn by upper class Palestinian women and subsquently by urban Nazareth women. They used to slip on gumbaz on their heads and shoulders. Fourth, In Palestein they wore jacket over coat or dress. The embroidered jacket from Bethlehem was mostly worn their wedding dress. Fifth, the headdress and face-veil in Palestein are the most unique ones and married women decorated headdress and face-veil with gold or silver coins which they received as wedding presents, and wrapped all their coin decorations in black cloth when husbands are dead. Bedouins decorated not only with coins but also with shells, buttons, stones and beads to articulate their chastity, social status, aestheticism, religion and magic.

      • 퇴비화 과정중 발생한 암모니아가스의 생물학적 탈취

        This study was carried out to investigate the filtering performance of using fresh compost as a biofilter. Three biofilter vessels were made using fresh compost as a biofilter media. A mixtures of dairy manure, soy sludge, rice hulls and sawdust were composted in a pilot scale reactor of 605L to generate the ammonia emission. The ammonia emission from the compost reactor was passed through three biofilters and collected in the boric acid trap to measure the ammonia emission. Filtering performance was influenced by the depth of biofilter media. Efficient filtering effect was acquired for the depth above 40 cm.
