Background: The biological information of fish, which include reproduction, is the prerequisite and the basis for the assessment of fisheries. Methods: The aim of this work was to know the reproductive biology with the first sexual maturity (TL50) and the spawning period for 58 mainly fish species in the waters around La Réunion Island (Western Indian Ocean). Twenty families belonging to the Actinopterygii were represented (acanthuridae, berycidae, bramidae, carangidae, cirrhitidae, gempylidae, holocentridae, kyphosidae, labridae, lethrinidae, lutjanidae, malacanthidae, monacanthidae, mullidae, polymixiidae, pomacentridae, scaridae, scorpaenidae, serranidae, sparidae; 56 species; n = 9,751) and two families belonging to the Elasmobranchii (squalidae, centrophoridae; 2 species; n = 781) were sampled. Between 2014 and 2022, 10,532 individuals were sampled covering the maximum months number to follow the reproduction periods of these species. Results: TL50 for the males and the females, respectively, ranged from 103.9 cm (Acanthurus triostegus) to 1,119.3 cm (Thyrsitoides marleyi) and from 111.7 cm (A. triostegus) to 613.1 cm (Centrophorus moluccensis). The reproduction period could be very different between the species from the very tight peak to a large peak covered all months. Conclusions: Most species breed between October and March but it was not the trend for all species around La Réunion Island.
스마트러닝 스페인어 교육 교과목별 모델 구축 II - YouTube 또는 ‘구글 드라이브’를 활용한 스마트강의 콘텐츠 제공과 Flipped Learning -

본 논문에서는 기존에 연구한 “스마트러닝 스페인어 교육 교과목별 모델 구축”(마상영, 2017)에 의거하여 개발한 스페인어 동영상 콘텐츠를 YouTube와 ‘구글 드라이브’를 통해 학습자들에게 제공하여 학습효율을 증대시킬 수 있는 방안을 규명하였다. 구글 서비스를 통한 콘텐츠 제공은 교육의 효율성과 확장성을 높일 수 있으며 저비용 고효율의 장점도 있다. Google의 YouTube와 ‘구글 드라이브’를 활용하여 스페인어 교과목별 동영상 교육 콘텐츠를 탑재하여 운영하는 방안과 그 장·단점을 분석하여 제시하였다. YouTube와 ‘구글 드라이브’를 활용하는 두 가지 방식 모두 기본적으로 단방향 커뮤니케이션에 기반을 두고 있는바, 양방향 커뮤니케이션을 활용하여, 현장감과 역동성, 학습 점검과 Feedback 등을 제공하는 현장교육과 연계하여 Flipped Learning 방식으로 강의를 운영하여 학습효율을 증대시킬 것을 제안하였다. The main purpose of this study is to propose how to improve learning efficiency by providing Spanish smart education contents, which were developed on the basis of "Construction of Subject Models of Smart Learning Spanish Education" (Mah, 2017), through YouTube and Google Drive. It has been claimed that providing learners who make use of smart devices everyday with well-prepared videos of Spanish smart education contents through Google services can maximize the scope of application of the contents as well as the efficiency of language education. In this paper, I analyzed the strength and weaknesses of employing Google Drive and YouTube, which are fundamentally based on one-way communication. It is thus necessary to increase learning efficiency by delivering lectures in a flipped learning manner in conjunction with traditional field learning, which results in two-way communication.

A particular syntactic pattern, an inanimate subject with an active verb(IS+AV), is quite common in journal articles with scientific topics in English. Asian students, however, are known to have difficulties in employing this pattern in their English writings and translations. For this reason newspaper editorials with animate and inanimate(including abstract) topics are categorized and compared in detail to investigate the context that the pattern is used and the difference between the two kinds of editorials with a specific regard to the frequency of the ‘IS+AV’ pattern. Based on the analysis of 10 editorials from The New York Times, this paper substantiates previous researches that have claimed the ‘IS+AV’ pattern is particularly popular in texts in scientific genre. Besides, the proportions of this pattern in Korean students’ translations of an editorial with an inanimate topic are analyzed to see how much they can employ this pattern in translating an inanimate topic editorial into English. It is drawn from the analysis that the Korean students participated in the test are not skillful in employing this pattern in translating an editorial with an inanimate topic.
Bacteriocin with a Broad Antimicrobial Spectrum, Produced by Bacillus sp. Isolated from Kimchi

An antimicrobially active bacterium which was identified as Bacillus brevis, was isolated from kimchi. The antimicrobial activity was found against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including some pathogens foodspoilage microorganisms, and some yeast strains. The antimicrobial activity was especially strong against Bacillus anthracis and Shigella dysenteriae. The strong activity was observed during an early stationary phase in the culture when incubated at 37℃ with initial medium pH of 6.8. The antimicrobial activity was found to be stable at 90℃ for 30min and in the pH range of 3-11, and it was insensitive to organic solvents including acetone, acetonitrile, ethanol, and methanol. Analysis of the bacteriocin on tricine-sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel suggested a molecular mass of approximately 4.5-6.0kDa. The antimicrobial substance was characterized as a bacteriocin, because of its proteinaceous nature and low molecular weight. The bacteriocin could potentially be used as a food preservative, because of its thermostable property and broad antimicrobial spectrum.

국제무역과 해외직접투자유입의 증대라고 하는 세계화의 진전이 구사회주의 경제체제국가들의 국내소득분배에 미치는 영향에 미치는 연구는 거의 행해진 바가 없다. 본 연구는 1990년대 중반을 대상으로 23개 구사회주의 경제체제국가들의 지니 계수에 1인당 국민소득, 국제무역액, 해외직접투자유입액 및 컴퓨터화의 변화가 어떻게 영향을 주는지에 대하여 분석을 행한다. 경험적 연구결과 무역액의 증대는 이 국가들의 지니계수를 감소시키며, 해외직접투자유입의 증대는 이 국가들의 지니계수에 영향을 주지 않는다는 점이 밝혀진다.
Living Cationic Polymerization of t-Butyl Vinyl Ether Initiated by iodine

Living nature of the cationic polymerization of t-butyl vinyl ether(t-BVE), carried out at -78$^{\circ}C$ in a mixed solvent of toluene and diethyl ether using iodine as initiator has been investigated. The results showing attainment of 100% conversion and a linear dependence of the number average molar mass on % conversion strongly suggests the living nature of the polymerization in a limited range of iodine concentration. It is concluded that the living nature of the polymerization is ascribable to the stability of polarized C-I terminal of adduct, which is formed by the reaction of the monomer with iodine and activated by the pulling action of zinc iodide, which allows the insertion of monomer in both initiation and propagation in cationic nature. However, it is believed that this growing terminal is stable enough to depress the chain breaking process, such as chain transfer or termination. Non-living characteristics appearing at higher temperatures as well as higher iodine concentration was discussed in terms of the equilibrium established between polarized C-I terminal and dissociated carbocationic propagating species where chain breaking process operates. It was also found that highly isotactic poly(vinylalcohol) (PVA) containing more than 70% meso content is obtainable via hydrolysis of corresponding p(t-BVE).

<P>Altered expression or hyperactivation of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), as a consequence of translocations or point mutations, is one of the main oncogenic drivers in non-small cell lung cancer. Using structure-based design and <I>in vitro</I> enzyme assays, we identified 3-heteroarylcoumarin as a new template for the development of novel fluorescent ALK inhibitors. Molecular simulation provided structural insights for the design of 3-heteroarylcoumarin derivatives, which were easily prepared through efficient synthetic approaches including direct C-H cross coupling. Importantly, these coumarin-based ALK inhibitors can be tracked using microscopy techniques: we illustrated the use of the most potent compound in this series, 5a, (ALK/IC50 = 0.51 μM, <I>λ</I>emi = 500 nm, <I>ϕ</I>F = 0.29) to monitor its subcellular distribution pattern by confocal fluorescence microscopy.</P>

<P>Dysregulation of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) has been detected in nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the form of EML4-ALK fusion. Secondary mutations opposing activity of the first-generation ALK inhibitor crizotinib came into existence, requiring mutation-targeting drug discovery for the powerful second-line treatment. In this study, we report 4-phenoxyquinoline-based inhibitors that overcome crizotinib resistance to ALK L1196M, discovered by the fragment-growing strategy. The protonation of 4-aminoquinoline core could interrupt the ability the N atom of quinoline to act as a hydrogen bond acceptor; therefore, the p<I>K</I><SUB>a</SUB> and calculated ionization pH values of relevant pyridine-based core moieties were carefully analyzed. The replacement of amine linkage with ether resulted in single-digit nanomolar range inhibitors. The inhibitors exhibited significant antiproliferative effects on H2228 CR crizotinib-resistant cells by decreasing PI3K/AKT and MAPK signaling.
