The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the industrial importance of the environment industry in Pusan through regional input-output analysis. In the absence of the consensus on the definition and scope of environment industry and related data, this research inevitably focuses on environmental manufacturing industry. There are various techniques in converting the coefficients of a national table to those of a regional table. Among them, it is said that RAS procedure is most widely used method. So that method is adopted also in this research. The regional table can be obtained through 360 iterative adjustments of rows and columns by using GAUSS program. The empirical findings of this research show that among the manufacturing industries in Pusan environmental manufacturing industry has relatively strong backward linkage effect and the weakest forward linkage effect. From the above findings, if the demands for environmental industry in Pusan can be created by government policies, we can infer that the growth of other industries as well as environmental industry can be expected.

We described three cases of immediate reimplantation of a frozen-thawed autogenous mandible composed of a mixture of iliac bone, marrow, and particulate hydroxyapatite in tumors of the mandible. Acceptable outcomes were obtained in three patients who underwent immediate autogenous mandibular graft reconstruction. The conditions leading to successful outcome of the procedure are also discussed. Reimplantation of frozen autogenous lesioned mandible was performed in three patients with mandibular tumors. Two reimplanted grafts survived without complications following surgery. One case had postoperative infection that resolved with appropriate antibiotic treatment. There were no recurrences of the primary lesions. Satisfactory facial contour after surgery was achieved. These results are most promising, and we believe that, with further refinement, this technique will offer a new and acceptable modality for facial reconstruction in patients with cancer.
마산연안지역의 국지풍 순환 및 대기오염물질 확산에 관한 연구

To investigate a horizontal windrose and the mixing height in Masan coastal area, a local atmospheric flow and the concentration of air pollutants were analyzed by abserved data from AWS, airsonde and air sampler. The land-sea breeze model and the ISCST2 model of U. S. EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) were used to predict the concentration of air pollutants such as SO2 and TSP. As a result, during spring the principal wind direction in the Masan region is mainly represented by windrose of the WNW and NW, which can be induced by land breeze and the SE and SSW of sea breeze even if weak wind speed. The mixing height during the measurement was marked with the range from 400 m(0900 LST) to 1450 m(1500 LST), and the height of an inverse layer was presented as the range from 30 m(2100 LST) to 150 m(0300 LST). It is very important to cosider the local wind field for the accurate diffusion and movement of air pollutants in coastal urban area. The atmospheric flow was simulated by the two-dimensional local wind model upon considering the orographic characteristics such as land-sea contrast, mountain valley and urban building. The result of air quality simulated by ISCST2 support that the dispersion pattern of the pollutants in that area was followed as local circulation system in coastal urban area.

The purpose of this study is in developing locally-oriented teaching-learning materials to motivate students to effectively take part in activities using map and in improving the field work of social studies to plan a map learning and to give them the ability of practice. It represents the right order involved in teaching the activities using map after doing preceding learning : classroom, playground, and the environs of the school including to some learning methods such as a puzzle map, a correlative of learning. Field trip study planning and lesson-plan are designed in case of Sewage disposal plant, Duknam filtration plant, Bonchon industrial complex relating to field trip study. There are some effects expected which follow through this study. First, teachers are able to draw learner's interest in finding learning sources directly through the community where they live. Second, learners have active participation in class, motivation, drawing their interests through map learning by doing preceding study of learner-centered. Third, teachers can make use of it as useful tools to get high achievement goal with self-direct learning.
Endovascular management in immature arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>To evaluate the outcomes and prognostic factors of endovascular management in immature arteriovenous fistula (AVF) for hemodialysis.</P><P>From April 2007 to September 2017, 54 patients (male:female = 31:23, mean age 65.63 years, range 33–90 years) who underwent endovascular management for the salvage of immature AVF were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical data, procedural details, and results were evaluated. Primary and secondary patency rates and factors influencing the patency were also analyzed.</P><P>Technical and clinical success rates were 88.9% (48/54) and 85.2% (46/54), respectively. Mean primary and secondary patency was 42.10 (±8.85) and 91.5 (±14.77) months, respectively. Primary and secondary patency rates were 66% and 89% in 1 year, 66% and 78% in 2 years, and 51% and 78% in 3 years. In multivariate analysis, only brachiocephalic AVF and antegrade access procedures showed significantly shorter primary patency (HR 5.196; 95% CI (1.04–25.77); <I>P = </I>.044, HR 8.096; 95% CI (1.36–48.00); <I>P = </I>.021). There was no statistically significant factor associated with secondary patency in the multivariate study.</P><P>Endovascular management in immature AVF is safe and effective to make the AVF available. Brachiocephalic AVF and antegrade access procedures are the factors influencing the patency in multivariate analysis.</P>

Fucosterol (2), oxygenated fucosterol, 24-ethylcholesta-4,24(28)-dien-3,6-dione (3), ${\beta}$-sitosterol (1), and daucosterol (4) were isolated from ethyl acetate (EtOAc) fraction of Osmanthus fragrans var. aurantiacus flower by repeated silica gel, octadecyl silica gel, and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. The sterol structures were determined based on spectroscopic methods including nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared spectroscopy, fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry, and electron ionization mass spectrometry. Fucosterol (2), oxygenated fucosterol, and 24-ethylcholesta-4,24(28)-dien-3,6-dione (3) are representative sterols mainly isolated from marine algae, but rarely found in land plants. This is the first reported isolation of these sterols from O. fragrans var. aurantiacus. Interestingly, the oxygenated fucosterol (3) isolated inhibited the in vitro growth of the HCT-116 human colon cancer cell line with higher cytotoxic effects than doxorubicin, a well-known cytotoxic drug.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We retrospectively analyzed the results of hypomethylating therapy in 586 patients (azacitidine in 423 and decitabine in 163) with International Prognostic Scoring System (IPSS) lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The patients were reclassified with newer scoring systems (revised IPSS [R-IPSS], revised WHO classification-based Prognostic Scoring System [R-WPSS], and Lower Risk Prognostic Scoring System [LR-PSS]), and 21.8–38.4% of patients had high or very high risk features by the newer scoring systems. Median overall survival (OS) was 27.3 months and newer scoring systems well stratified the patients in terms of OS (R-IPSS, <I>P</I> =0.001; R-WPSS, <I>P<</I> 0.001; LR-PSS, <I>P<I> <</I> </I> 0.001). Hematologic improvement (HI) was observed in 279 patients (47.6%). OS differed by the achievement of HI (39.4% vs. 36.2%, <I>P</I> =0.067). The differences were significant only in patients of intermediate or high risk group by LR-PSS (<I>P</I> =0.034) or R-IPSS (<I>P</I> =0.018). In summary, IPSS lower-risk MDS included a broad range of prognosis, and hypomethylating therapy induced HI in approximately half of the patients. Achievement of HI was associated with longer survival, especially in patients with intermediate or high risk features by newer scoring systems. We investigated a total of 335 samples of Korean native mushroom extracts as part of our lipoxygenase (LOX) inhibitor screening program. Among the mushroom-methanolic extracts we investigated, 35 exhibited an inhibitory activity greater than 30% against LOX at a concentration of 100 ${\mu}g/mL$. Especially, Collybia maculata, Tylopilus neofelleus, Strobilomyces confusus, Phellinus gilvus, P. linteus, P. baumii, and Inonotus mikadoi exhibited relatively potent LOX inhibitory activities of 73.3%, 51.6%, 52.4%, 66.7%, 59.5%, 100.0%, and 85.2%, respectively. Bioassay-guided fractionation led to the isolation of inoscavin A from the methanolic extract of P. baumii, which showed the most potent activity and was identified by spectroscopic methods. Specifically, inoscavin A exhibited potent LOX inhibitory activity with an $IC_{50}$ value of $6.8{\mu}M$.
