Formocresol(FC) had been widely used as medicament for pulpotomy, but because FC have strong toxicity, carcinogenic potential, and strong diffusible properties in tissues, Glutaraldehyde, another medicament for pulpotomy was greatly presented by many investigators and practitioners. Although many investigators had studied difference of two medicament's effects on periodontal tissues and tooth germ, there were no manuscripts of cellular activity about these medicaments applied to teeth, but there were almost clinical, histopathological studies. Especially in the investigative effects on tooth germ, the results were controversal. Thus to investigate about effects on cellular actiity of perigerminal tissue and tooth germ of rat, author presented the cellular activity and the pathologic change through calculating Thymidine labelling index(TLI) from autoradiographic technique using 3H-thymidine after these medicaments were applied to tooth. The obtained results were as follows. 1. Inflammation was initiated after one week of FC and two weeks of GA. It was thought that diffusible property of GA was lesser than that of FC. 2. In group treated with FC, inflammation, vasodilation and bone destruction continuously increased for all periods of experiment and the feature of 8 weeks was very severe. But in group treated with GA, inflammation, vasodilation and bone destruction slightly incresed for all period of experment. 3. TLI was increased after two weeks of FC, but decreased after four weeks because of different accumulative concentration between 2 and 4 weeks. 4. GA treated group which did not show the change of the cellular activity of perigerminal tissue and tooth germ presented the slight effects on these cells. 5. Changes of cellular activities in FC treated group did not result from inflammation, but formocresole's property itself. And bone destruction was derived from secondary effects of inflammation. 6. Salmonella Enteritidis (S. Enteritidis) are found in animals, humans, and environment. In addition, S. Enteritidis draws attention to the public health concerns due to carriage of antibiotic resistance traits. For these reasons, the prevalence and antibiotic resistance patterns of S. Enteritidis are significant issues with regard to public health. To address this issues, a total of 24 strains of S. Enteritidis from 164 samples collected from several slaughterhouses in Gyeong-Nam province in order for antibiotic resistance profiles. Subsequently, we characterized the genotyping by random amplification polymorphic DNA (RAPD)-PCR. As a result, very high level of resistance to protein synthesis inhibition antibiotics and most isolates were susceptible to others. Six random primers were used for RAPD-PCR to reveal genotypes of S. Enteritidis isolates. One of the primer, P1245, generated 147 distinct RAPD-PCR fragments ranging from 400∼3000 bp. The number of RAPD-PCR products ranged from 4 to 8 for this primer. The RAPD-PCR fragments could be placed these strains into 3 subgroups and 2 classes by UPGMA cluster analysis. Interestingly, several S. Enteritidis that isolated from different slaughterhouses showed same genotype. These results showed only limited genetic variation among the isolates, those were grouped into a few different patterns of antibiotic resistance.
Avian influenza Surveillance in wild bird in Korea between 2015 and 2016

Introduction: National surveillance of avian influenza virus (AIV) in Korea has been annually conducted for early detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). In Korea, there have been four times of outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI between 2003 and 2011. During 2014-2015, large epizootics in poultry have been caused by H5N8 HPAI viruses. In this study, we report on the result of a nationwide surveillance for AIV in wild birds in Korea between 2015 and 2016. Methods: Samples were collected by the Livestock Health Control Association and regional veterinary offices. The feces of wild birds were collected in major migratory habitats. Healthy migratory birds were captured and oropharyngeal/cloacal swabs were collected from these birds. Each sample was screened by real-time PCR. AIVs were isolated by inoculation on embryonated SPF chicken egg with samples and the presence of AIV was determined using a hemagglutination assay. For sutyping of AIV, HA and NA genes of the AIV isolates were amplified with gene-specific primers using RT-PCR and confirmed by directly sequencing. Results: Between 2015 and 2016, 28,849 samples were collected from wild birds. Of these, 24,091 of wild bird feces, 4,686 from captured birds, and 72 dead birds. A total of 228 viruses were isolated and the various subtypes were found including H1-H12. The major subtypes were H5 (n=59), H6 (n=39), H4 (n=33) and H3 (n=30). H5 AIV was further classified into four NA subtypes: H5N3 (n=23), H5N6 (n=18), H5N8 (n=16) and H5N9 (n=2). H5N6 and H5N8 subtypes were isolated in wild bird feces (n=18), captured bird (n=10), and dead bird (n=6), respectively. These viruses belonged to clade 2.3.4.4 and confirmed as HPAI virus. The H5N6 HPAI viruses isolated in late 2016 were phylogenetically distinguishable from the clade 2.3.4.4 H5N8 HPAI viruses previously isolated in Korea during 2014-2015. Conclusion: Between 2015 and 2016, viruses of various subtypes, including H5 HPAIVs and LPAIV, were isolated from wild bird through AI surveillance. AI Surveillance in wild birds should be enhanced for earlier detection of AIV introduced by wild birds to implement the effective control measure to prevent HPAI outbreaks in poultry farms.

With the development of HVDC systems, there has been much research regarding insulating materials applied in the DC environment. Of particular concern is the degradation of electrical insulation due to external environmental factors caused by the long-term use of the insulation material of a power device. If such degradation continues, a leakage current may fl ow on the surface of the insulating material, eventually causing a partial discharge and potentially resulting in a major accident. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the long-term reliability of insulation materials. To do this, accelerated degradation tests and lifetime analyses should be performed by measuring the activation energy of insulation materials. There are currently various analytical methods to determine the activation energy, but the values obtained according to the diff erent analysis methods vary. Because there are no established measurement criteria, it is necessary to accurately measure the activation energy of insulation materials. Therefore, in this paper, six analysis methods were performed through thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) to measure the activation energy, which was used to select the degradation time for the accelerated degradation test for which a reliable degradation time for acceleration degradation could be calculated. As a result of the experiment, deterioration acceleration time appeared in the order of PP > PE > PTFE > UPE, and accelerated deterioration of the insulating material through the deterioration time range measured in a future study will be performed to evaluate the life of each insulating materials.

The existing insulation material degradation analysis was mainly conducted using the method through the international standard of IEC 60126 and the thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). Polyolefin-based materials are greatly affected by many variables such as the reaction order (n), conversion degree (α), and temperature increase rate (β) in predicting the lifetime and they have the disadvantage of requiring a lot of samples and taking a long time. exist. Therefore in this study, a relatively simple oxidation induction time (OIT) lifetime prediction was performed and compared with TGA. As a result of the measurement OIT was approximately 24 days and TGA was approximately 32 days, and it was measured similarly to the actual accelerated degradation test result.

A cooling device utilizing ionic wind has advantage compared with conventional cooling devices with electric fan. In this paper, EHD characteristics were studied based on the angle variation of the plate type induction electrode in the needle-to-plate discharge electrode structure. The study of the angle variation of plate type induction electrode would be very useful in space application side, since it makes the ionic wind cooling device effectively be applied to various structure of electronic devices that have limited space.
