In the design and analysis of electric machines the precise calculation of iron loss has incredible significance. It is tough to foresee iron losses precisely in machines due to distribution of non sinusoidal flux density. It is necessary to approximate the iron losses for the precise computation of efficiency. This paper presents a novel approach for the prediction of iron losses of the brushless dc (BLDC) motors by considering the effects of minor hysteresis loops in the simplified model. The novel iron loss model results are compared with the simplified model and with finite element method (FEM).

This paper presents a 2-D analytical method to calculate the back EMF of the axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator (AFPMSG) with coreless stator and dual rotor having magnets mounted on both sides of rotor yoke. Furthermore, in order to reduce the no load voltage total harmonics distortion (VTHD), the initial model of the coreless AFPMSG is optimized by using a developed analytical method. Optimization using the 2-D analytical method reduces the optimization time to less than a minute. The back EMF obtained by using the 2-D analytical method is verified by a time stepped 3-D finite element analysis (FEA) for both the initial and optimized model. Finally, the VTHD, output torque and torque ripples of both the initial and optimized models are compared with 3D-FEA. The result shows that the optimized model reduces the VTHD and torque ripples as compared to the initial model. Furthermore, the result also shows that output torque increases as the result of the optimization.

The effects of prolonged photoperiod (additional night lighting) were investigated on the production of Ocimum basilicum (lemon basil) and fish/crayfish raised in a nutrient film technique aquaponic system. Hybrid lemon fin barb and red claw crayfish juveniles were co-cultured with O. basilicum and subjected to 12 h of ambient natural daylight and additional 0, 4, 8, and 12 h of night lighting for 14 weeks (two batches of 7 weeks each). The water quality parameters and the performance characteristics of the fish/crayfish/plant were evaluated, and the nutrient uptake (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) in the system by the three organisms was also measured. The fish growth performance showed no significant differences (p > 0.05) in all the growth parameters measured across the treatments. The body proximate and nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium (NPK) composition of the fish and crayfish were not significantly (p > 0.05) different across the treatments. Similarly, there was no significant difference (p > 0.05) in the NPK uptake by the fish and crayfish across the treatments. The plant growth performance showed that there were no significant (p > 0.05) differences in the plant growth parameters measured, except for % plant height gained in the 12 h-light treatment (403.2 ± 26.0%) which was significantly (p < 0.05) higher than other treatments and cycles. Hence, this study demonstrated that varying supplementary night lighting has no significant effect on the growth performance of O. basilicum, hybrid lemon fin barb, and red claw crayfish. This study, therefore, suggests that supplementary night lighting should not be considered for O. basilicum production as it does not significantly improve the performance characteristics of the plant nor the fish co-cultured with it in a polyculture aquaponic system.

This paper presents an optimization of the double sided axial flux penn anent magnet synchronous generator (AFPMSG) with coreless stator. A 2-D analytical model is used for the optimization of the double sided AFPMSG having concentrated winding. The micro genetic glgorithm (MGA) is employed for the minimization of voltage total harmonic distortion (VTHD) while maintaining the no load voltage constant. The results of the optimized model are compared with the initial model. The results show the reduction in the value of the VTHD.

A phishing attack is a method of tricking users into unknowingly providing personal and financial information or sending funds to attackers. The most common phishing attacks use some form of electronic messaging such as email to provide a link to what appears to be a legitimate site but is actually a malicious site controlled by the attacker. Phishing is a hybrid attack combining both social engineering and technological aspects and combatting phishing attacks requires dealing with both aspects
Improved Model of the Iron Loss for the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
Junaid, Ikram,Nasrullah, Khan,Kwon, Byung-Il Journal of International Conference on Electrical 2012 Journal of international Conference on Electrical Vol.1 No.2
This paper presents an improved iron loss model, for the computation of the no load iron loss in the stator core of the in-wheel permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), for the cases of with and without stator skew. 2-D analytical model is used for the computation of tooth and yoke flux densities of the in-wheel PMSM. The no load iron loss computed by the improved iron loss model, for the cases of with and without skew is compared with the finite element method (FEM) and the results show good consistency.
