초등학교에서의 교사 - 학생간 상호작용을 통한 인성교육 가능성 탐색

        허미화,김인전 한국초등교육학회 2001 초등교육연구 Vol.14 No.3

This study was based on the results of the first year study that humanities education should take the form of informal student-teacher interactions in every day school life. To explore how the component factors of desirable humanities education were included and exercised in school we examined how various conflict between students and teachers were handled, and how the student-teacher interactions were taking place in the conflict situations. To deepen our understanding of the student-teacher interactions, we adopted both quantitative and qualitative methods in our investigation. We conducted in-depth interviews with 34 teachers and 151 students from 3 elementary schools in the Seoul area. Eight interview questions were constructed which represented conflict between students and teachers inside and outside classroom settings. The data from the in-depth interviews were analyzed in three major categories which identified general characteristics in three aspects, that is, relations between the domain of humanities education and instruction, students' reponses to teachers' actions. The results of the present investigation can be summarized as follows : (1) The three component factors of humanities education can be dealt within the context of student-teacher interactions in class and out of class at school. (2) Students perceived verbal persuasion of teachers as the most positive way of handling conflict situations. (4) Students perceived teachers' intervention in conflict situations positively, but only when the intervention was fair and appropriate.

The Clinical Profile of Patients with Psoriasis in Korea: A Nationwide Cross-Sectional Study (EPI-PSODE)

( Hae Jun Song ),( Chul Jong Park ),( Tae Yoon Kim ),( Yong Beom Choe ),( Seok-Jong Lee ),( Nack In Kim ),( Jae We Cho ),( Jie Hyun Jeon ),( Min Soo Jang ),( Jai Il Youn ),( Myung Hwa Kim ),( Joonsoo 대한피부과학회 2017 Annals of Dermatology Vol.29 No.4

Background: Psoriasis is an immune-mediated, chronic in-flammatory disease affecting multiple aspects of patients` lives. Its epidemiology varies regionally; however, nation-wide epidemiologic data on psoriasis depicting profile of Korean patients has not been available to date. Objective: To understand nationwide epidemiologic characteristics and clinical features of adult patients with psoriasis visited uni-versity hospitals in Korea. Methods: This multicenter, non-in-terventional, cross-sectional study recruited 1,278 adult pa-tients with psoriasis across 25 centers in Korea in 2013. Various clinical data including PASI, BSA, DLQI, SF-36 and PASE were collected. Results: A total of 1,260 patients com-pleted the study (male:female=1.47:1). The mean age was 47.0 years with a distribution mostly in the 50s (24.9%). Early onset (<40 years) of psoriasis accounted for 53.9% of patients. The mean disease duration was 109.2 months; mean body mass index was 23.9 kg/m2; and 12.7% of patients had a family history of psoriasis. Plaque and guttate types of psoriasis accounted for 85.8% and 8.4%, respectively. Patients with PASI ≥10 accounted for 24.9%; patients with body surface area ≥10 were 45.9%. Patients with DLQI ≥6 accounted for 78.8%. Between PASI <10 and PASI ≥10 groups, significant difference was noted in age at diagnosis, disease duration, blood pressure, waist cir-cumference of female, and treatment experiences with pho-totherapy, systemic agents, and biologics. Conclusion: This was the first nationwide epidemiologic study of patients with psoriasis in Korea and provides an overview of the epidemio-logic characteristics and clinical profiles of this patient population. • Functional Analysis of AtbZIP17 & 28 as Signaling Components of Unfolded Protein Response in Arabidopsis

        Jae Ho Cha,Jeong Chan Moon,Joo Mi Jeon,Wahyu Indra Fanata,Bo Hwa Son,In Jung Jung,Jae Yong Yoo,Je Hein Kim,Rikno Harmoko,Ki Seong Ko,Sang Yeol Lee,Kyun Oh Lee 한국당과학회 2009 한국당과학회 학술대회 Vol.2009 No.1

In the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) elicit a highly conserved ER stress response called the unfolded protein response (UPR). Accumulation of misfolded proteins elicits signals by three types of ER stress sensor/transducer in mammal. Among them, ATF6 is a type II transmembrane protein normally retained in the ER. In this study, we have identified two membrane-associated basic domain/leucine zipper (bZIP) factors AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 in Arabidopsis thaliana as candidates for ER stress sensors/transducers similar to mammalian ATF6. AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 have N-terminal bZIP domain, a transmembrane segment, respectively. Truncated forms of AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 lacking the C-terminal domain were overexpressed in Arabidopsis. AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 overexpressed Arabidopsis showed upregulated the expression of ER chaperone genes in the absence of stress conditions. Interestingly, they growed bigger and more vigorously than WT in normal growth condition. Under stress conditions, AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 overexpression plants showed enhanced stress tolerance compare with that of WT plants. These results suggest that AtbZIP17 and AtbZIP28 function as sensor/transducer in Arabidopsis to mediate ER stress response related to UPR. [Supported by EB-NCRC & BK21 program]

Inhibitory Effect of Dibutyryl Chitin Ester on Nitric Oxide and Prostaglandin E2 Production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 Cells

        In Hwa Jeon,장선일,Ji Ye Mok,박광현,Hee Min Hwang,Mi Seon Song,이덕희,Min Hee Lee,이우일,채규윤 대한약학회 2012 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.35 No.7

Inflammation is a highly complex process that protects against foreign challenge or tissue injury. The ester derivative dibutyryl chitin (DBC) reportedly accelerates wound healing and exerts an anti-inflammatory effect. However, little is known regarding the inhibitory effect of DBC in anti-inflammation. In this study, we investigated the effect of DBC on the inducible nitric oxide synthetase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenage-2 (COX-2) pathways and pro-inflammatory cytokine production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Our results demonstrate that DBC (MW 3,772) significantly inhibits overproduction of NO and PGE2 as well as pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β, in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Inhibition of NO and PGE2 overproduction in LPSstimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages by DBC was mediated through the down-regulation of iNOS and COX-2 expression. These results demonstrate that DBC efficiently inhibits inflammation and has potential as an effective anti-inflammatory and wound healing agent.

Ethyl Acetate Extract from Tissue-Cultured Mountain Ginseng Adventitious Roots Inhibits In Vitro Platelet Aggregation in Whole Human Blood and Augments Peripheral Blood Flow in Mice

In Sun Lee,Seul-Ki Kim,Min Hwa Jeon,Won Kyung Jeon 고려인삼학회 2011 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.35 No.4

We previously reported that in vitro anti-platelet activity of tissue-cultured mountain ginseng (TCMG) ethanol extracts show improved efficacy when compared with commercial ginseng products such as Korean red ginseng and Panax ginseng. However, information on the anti-platelet activity of the ethyl acetate fraction from TCMG adventitious roots is limited. Therefore, in this study, we further investigated the effects of an ethyl acetate extract ofTCMG (EA-TCMG) adventitious roots on in vitro antiplatelet activity in whole human blood and its effect on peripheral blood flow in mice. We found that EA-TCMG inhibited platelet aggregation with IC50 values of 271, 180, and 147 ug/ml, induced by collagen, adenosine-5" -diphosphate, and arachidonic acid, respectively. Among the three agonists used, thromboxane A2 formation induced by arachidonic acid was markedly suppressed. Furthermore, EA- TCMG improved the peripheral circulatory disturbance by improving vascular blood flow. In conclusion, these results suggest that ethyl acetate extracts from TCMG adventitious roots might inhibit vascular platelet aggregation and thrombus formation.

      • In Situ Neutron Powder Diffraction and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy Analyses on the Hydrogenation of MOF-5 by Pt-Doped Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes

        Lee, Heeju,Choi, Yong Nam,Choi, Sang Beom,Seo, Jung Hye,Kim, Jaheon,Cho, In Hwa,Gang, Seunggi,Jeon, Cheol Ho American Chemical Society 2014 The Journal of Physical Chemistry Part C Vol.118 No.11

<P>Recent research on hydrogen storage in metal–organic frameworks focuses on how to achieve increased hydrogen binding energies by using doped metal, using unsaturated metal ions, or forming composites comprising Pt-doped carbon materials. In particular, noticeable progress using MOFs and Pt-doped carbons has been achieved to enhance the hydrogen storage capacity near room temperature. A three-component composite material, Pt-MWCNT-MOF5 (PMM5), which is a metal–organic framework (MOF-5) hybridized with Pt nanoparticles on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), stores 0.22 wt % hydrogen at 320 K and 30 bar, which is larger than 0.13 wt % at 300 K and 30 bar. Although the increased quantity is small, it is possible to detect the origin of uptake increase based on various analyses. In situ neutron diffraction experiments of deuterium-sorbed PMM5 with a temperature cycling process (D2 loading at 50 K → 4 K → 320 K, 2 h → 50 K → 4 K) result in a significant background increase owing to both chemisorbed deuterium atoms and a local deformation of the MOF-5 framework. Hydrogen loading in PMM5 induces significant binding energy shifts in C 1s and Zn 2p3/2 electrons in the X-ray photoelectron spectra, suggesting the chemical environment change in Zn4O(COO)6 coordination sphere in MOF-5. All accumulated experimental data support the fact that the hydrogen receptor is the oxygen atoms of benzene-1,4-dicarboxylates of MOF-5, which is facilitated by the embedded Pt-MWCNT.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jpccck/2014/jpccck.2014.118.issue-11/jp411955y/production/images/medium/jp-2013-11955y_0007.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/jp411955y'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

      • Production of glucocerebrosidase with high-mannose type N-glycan in plants

        In Jung Jung,Jeong Chan Moon,Joo Mi Jeon,Wahyu Indra Fanata,Bo Hwa Son,Jae Yong Yoo,Jae Ho Cha,Je Hein Kim,Rikno Harmoko,Ki Seong Ko,Sang Yeol Lee,Kyun Oh Lee 한국당과학회 2009 한국당과학회 학술대회 Vol.2009 No.1

Plant-based expression of recombinant proteins offers significant advantages in terms of the production of pharmaceuticals for human diseases. These include cost-effective production of recombinant proteins due to the ease of scale-up, minimal possibility of product contamination by animal pathogens and the availability of natural storage organs such as tubers, fruits and seeds. Among the many plant-based production systems that have been developed for pharmaceuticals proteins, seeds have the useful advantage of accumulating proteins in a relatively small volume and in stable environment in which they are protected from degradation. In this respect, we overexpressed human glucocerebrosidase (GC) in Arabidopsis seeds driven by cruciferin 3 promoter. In attempt to produce mannose-terminated N-glycan of GC, the construct was introduced into Arabidopsis gnt1 mutant deficient in the activity of N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase I, the first enzyme in the complex glycan biosynthesis. Our results indicate that the human GC is highly expressed in the seed. [Supported by EB-NCRC & BK21 program]

      • Effect of Acupuncture for Radioactive-Iodine-Induced Anorexia in Thyroid Cancer Patients : A Randomized, Double-Blinded, Sham-Controlled Pilot Study

        Jeon, Ju-Hyun,Yoon, Jeungwon,Cho, Chong-Kwan,Jung, In-Chul,Kim, Sungchul,Lee, Suk-Hoon,Yoo, Hwa-Seung SAGE Publications 2015 Integrative cancer therapies Vol.14 No.3

<P> <I>Objective</I>. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for radioactive iodine (RAI)–induced anorexia in thyroid cancer patients. <I>Methods</I>. Fourteen thyroid cancer patients with RAI-induced anorexia were randomized to a true acupuncture or sham acupuncture group. Both groups were given 6 true or sham acupuncture treatments in 2 weeks. Outcome measures included the change of the Functional Assessment of Anorexia and Cachexia Treatment (FAACT; Anorexia/Cachexia Subscale [ACS], Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy–General [FACT-G]), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), weight, body mass index (BMI), ACTH, and cortisol levels. <I>Results</I>. The mean FAACT ACS scores of the true and sham acupuncture groups increased from baseline to exit in intention-to-treat (ITT) and per protocol (PP) analyses; the true acupuncture group showed higher increase but with no statistical significance. Between groups, from baseline to the last treatment, statistically significant differences were found in ITT analysis of the Table of Index (TOI) score (<I>P</I> = .034) and in PP analysis of the TOI (<I>P</I> = .016), FACT-G (<I>P</I> = .045), FAACT (<I>P</I> = .037) scores. There was no significant difference in VAS, weight, BMI, ACTH, and cortisol level changes between groups. <I>Conclusion</I>. Although the current study is based on a small sample of participants, our findings support the safety and potential use of acupuncture for RAI-induced anorexia and quality of life in thyroid cancer patients.</P>

Enhancement of Protein Productivity of Recombinant Hepatitis A Virus VP1 in Stably Transfected $Drosophila$ $melanogaster$ S2 Cells

        Jeon, Hwang-Bo,Park, Jong-Hwa,Lee, Hyun-Ho,Kim, Do-Hyung,Lee, Hee-Young,Shon, Dong-Hwa,Kim, Won-Yong,Chung, In-Sik The Korean Society for Microbiology 2012 Journal of Bacteriology and Virology Vol.42 No.1

The effect of DMSO and sodium butyrate on the production of recombinant hepatitis A virus (HAV) capsid protein VP1 was evaluated and optimized in the culture of stably transfected $Drosophila$ $melanogaster$ S2 cells using culture plates and spinner flasks. The effect of DMSO and sodium butyrate was also evaluated to improve the recombinant VP1 production in stably transfected $Drosophila$ S2 cells. A production level of 0.88 mg of recombinant VP1/liter was obtained in the culture-plate culture of stably transfected S2 cells at 6 days after induction with 0.5 mM $CuSO_4$. The supplements of 2% DMSO and 10 mM sodium butyrate at 4 days post-inoculation increased recombinant VP1 accumulation by 141 and 104%, respectively, resulting in 2.17 and 1.7 mg/liter of recombinant VP1 production. In spinner flasks, recombinant VP1 production reached maximum level at 9 days after induction with 0.5 mM $CuSO_4$, with approximately 4.96 mg/liter of recombinant VP1 production level. When 2% DMSO or 10 mM sodium butyrate was added at 5 days post-inoculation, the recombinant VP1 production was increased to 8.35 and 5.85 mg/liter, respectively. However, the synergistic effects of DMSO and sodium butyrate were not observed. These results indicate that DMSO and/or sodium butyrate can be successfully used to improve the recombinant HAV VP1 production in culture plates and spinner flasks.
