This thesis studied an allowable error range of construction distance between piles, Our experiment has altered the distance between piles in various ways to observe characteristics of the piles bearing capacity according to the changes. It was observed that the range of changes in the piles bearing capacity was insignificant when the distance between piles were great, where as the range became greater inversely to the distance between piles. The pulling resistance exceeded the allowable range when the distance between piles was less than 2.0D. It turned out that the allowable error range of construction was 1.0D for the field of our interest.

This study analyzed the reductive effect of lateral flow by the section and height of reinforcement of EPS. The conclusions of the study are as follws. (1) The lateral flow increased as the section of reinforcement decreased. The reinforcement section that satisfied the allowable range of the lateral flow turned out to be approximately 80% of the standard reinforcement section. (2) As reinforcement height was decreasing, the lateral flow increased. The reinforcement height that satisfied the allowable range of the lateral flow turned out to be approximately 50% of the total lateral height of abutment.

This analytical study to determine the most proper number of strut steps, suggests the Critical Soil Parameter Line (C.S.P.L) that can be utilized for designing earth retaining walls. The results of the analysis are as follows. (1) The C.S.P.L value increases as the excavation depth increases, and the number of strut steps gets small. However, the range of its changes in not quite great. (2) The K value rarely affects the C.S.P.L when the coefficient of horizontal subgrade reaction, K is 1500 and 1000.

This study examined cut slope reinforcement cases in the Pusan-Kyoungnam district, which includes 3 Pusan, 2 East Kyoungnam, 6 Middle Kyoungnam and 3 West Kyoungnam cases. It also analyzed the causes of the collapse and hazards, and the reinforcement method that had been used. The conclusions of the study are presented in the following. (1) The major causes of collapse and hazards in the cut slope are in the following. (ⅰ) The rise of ground water due to a local downpour and the ground seepage of water. (ⅱ) Existence of a soft ground layer. (ⅲ) A decision of slope inclination by an empirical method. (2) It turned out that the main reinforcement methods used for each cut slope were the remethod of gentle slope inclination and the retaining wall method. The auxiliary methods were drainage method for the prevention of water seepage and protection method of surface for the prevention of surface erosion. These methods were applied to almost all the slopes.

This study examined geological characteristics of the clay in the area around Kaduck-do, Kangseo-gu, Pusan, to figure out the characteristic fundamentals of the clay. The results are shown in the following. (1) The physical and chemical characteristics are summarized in he following table. There were no meaningful changes according to the depth degree. ◁ 원문 표 참조 ▷ (2) The geological characteristics 1) Sedimetological and geochemical characteristics showed that the clay layer was formed under oceanic circumstances. 2) The mineralogy mainly includes clay materials such as quartz, feldspar, illite, chlorite, and kaolinite. 3) The results of radiocarbon dating by AMS showed 3,692±50 yr.B.P for the upper samples and 16,650±200 yr.B.P. for the lower samples.

This study analyzed characteristics of soft ground consolidation according to depths of vertical drain. As the result, when the depth ratio of vertical drains (L/D) were 0.5, 0.7, and 1.0, consolidation characteristics were similar up to 70% in consolidation degree under one-dimensional drain condition. However, above this degree, consolidation speed became slower as L/D became smaller. Two-dimensional drain condition also showed a similar tendency, but when L/D was 1.0, the consolidation speed was relatively higher.

In this study, we have measured scintillating light generated in a fiber-optic dosimeter by high energy photon and electron beams using a charge-coupled device. The intensity of Cerenkov lights are also measured and characterized as functions of incident angles and energies of the high energy beams from a clinical linear accelerator. To minimize or remove Cerenkov light, a simple subtraction method using a background optical fiber and wavelength discrimination method using optical filters are investigated. Also, the intensities of Cerenkov light induced by high energy photon and electron beams are compared.
SUNEX와 PLAXIS에 의한 흙막이벽의 안정해석 비교 연구

This study compared the results of the two programs, SUNEX and PLAXIS, regarding the stability of earth retaining wall. The conclusions of the study are as follows. (1) The stability analysis of earth retaining wall in soft clay ground showed the instable result from PLAXIS than SUNEX. (2) In sand ground, the results of SUNEX appeared less stable than PLAXIS. (3) In the composite ground, the results of both programs turned out almost the same except the maximum settlement.

This study investigated the settlement of soft ground caused by fill-loading. The S.C.P replacement ratio(a_(s)), range(S_(0)/B), and depth(h_(0)/H) were taken as variables. The conclusions are presented in the following. (1) As a_(s), S_(0)/B, and h_(0)/H increases, the maximum settlement decreases. However, the maximum settlement is less in S_(0)/B than in as, and h_(0)/H. (2) Changes in the maximum settlement are relatively great in the range of h_(0)/H = 0.2~0.6, but small in the case of h_(0)/H>0.6. (3) The reducing rate becomes different when a_(s) = 30%, and S_(0)/B = 0.6. (4) When a_(s) = 10%, the maximum settlement due to the increase in replacement depth reduces little relatively to other replacement ratios.
