        <Summary> The paper attempts to construct the contents of science subject of teacher's college in order to train students as competent elementary science teachers. Within the current curiiculum, we gave proceeded this study. The conclusions we have come to are as follows. 1) The objective of the scieuce education in teacher's college shoule have students acquire high level scientific literacy and competent teaching method through the conclusive understanding of science. 2) The competence and ability science teacher must acquire are the undertanding about the nature of science, having the inquiry attitude and the method of teaching elementary science. 3) In the construction of the contents avout the science subject in teacher's college the following considerations should be needed. ① "The natural science" subject in the liveral arts course. The contents of this subject should include the fundamental concepts and the inquiry method of science centered on the nature subject in the elementry school. At the same time the learning should be proceeded along with the way these concepts are formed by human thought. ② "The nature subject education" in the major course. This subject is divided into two sub-subjects which call for "the teaching method" and " the sutdy of teaching materials". In the current curriculum, the nature and contents of these two sub-subjects are not prescrived clearly. This paper attempts to prescribe these nature and contents. The teaching method should be the general rules and theories concerning all the elementary science including the nature subject. The study of teaching material should be done according to the curriculum and textbook of the individual elemenary science, the nature subject.

      • 國民學校 氣象敎材의 內容構成과 그 展開에 관한 考察 : 대기와 물의 순환을 중심으로 Centered on "the Circulation of the Atmosphere and the Water"

        The elementary science curriculum is based upon two major objectives, the one is that the subject contents should be structured around the selected essential concepts and the other is the acquisition of concepts resulting in the inquiry processes. Whether these concepts, especially the atmospheric concept, are well developed consistently to the through the unit contents and the process of the learning activities was studied. The result of this study has showed that the children's understanding of the concepts much poorer than expected. The causes can be derived from the following structure of the subject matlers. 1. The concept of the atmospheric pressure and the isobar are not structured so as to match with the intellectual level of the learners. 2. The learning matters was not constituted so that the learner could identify the problein clearly. 3. The concepts of the atmospheric pressure and the isobar was not defined operationally. In order to improve these deficiencies, I have suggested some means as following. 1. From a point of view that the atmospheric pressure is a force moving the air, the structure of the teaching contents was clarified. 2. The abstract concepts such as the atmospheric pressure and the isobar should be learned through the process of concrete operations. The modeling of the concepts are considered as one means for the above argument. The questions concerning these concepts was asked to the fifth grade elementary children and its result was evaluated.

        Effect of Chlorella Diet Supplementation on Blood and Urine Cadmium Levels in Cadmium Poisoned Rats

        This study was conducted to investigate the influence of chlorella diet supplementation. Blood accumulation and urine excretion levels were measured after the Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were fed on a chlorella diet supplementation mixed with 40 ppm of CdCl₂. Four groups tested for blood accumulation and urine excretion levels. All four groups fed on a basic diet with a cadmium mixture. The diet for the first group contained only basic diet and the cadmium added to the drinking water. The diet for the three other groups contained cadmium to the drinking water, and 1%, 5% and 10% of chlorella added to the basic diet. A concentration of cadmium for the first group showed a 3.2±0.4 ㎍/l blood accumulatior. level and 41.5±32.9 ㎍/l urinary excretion level, and the second group, which was fed on the basic diet with 1% of chlorella added and cadmium to the drinking water showed a 1.5±0.6 ㎍/l blood level and only 14.1±1.6 ㎍/l urinary excretion level. The other two groups, which were fed on 5% and 10% of chlorella concentration and cadmium to the drinking water did not exhibit any notable effects greater than the group fed on 1% concentration of chlorella. The results suggest that the blood accumulation and urinary excretion of Cadmium are influenced by the chlorella diet supplementation from the concentration of 1% of the basic diet.

      • 혈관 내 폐 보조장치에서 적혈구의 microencapsulation에 의한 산소전달속도의 향상

        In this study, we tried to improve oxygen transfer rate and reduce pressure drop on intravascular lung assist device with microencapsulation of red blood cells, because microcapsulation of red cells reduce blood hemolysis. Hemoglobin was purified from outdated human red blood cells used. Phospholipid was purified from egg yolk. The hemosome was prepared by encapsulation of hemoglobin with phospholipid multilayer, using rotary vacuum evaporator. The function of hemosome was tested by measuring oxygen dissociation curve using blood gas analyzer. Oxygen dissociation curve of hemosome showed the same figure as the curve of normal red blood cells. Pressure drop showed lower use of hemosome rather than normal blood, because viscosity of hemosome are lower than that of normal blood. Also, oxygen transfer rate showed lower use of hemosome rather than normal blood at 2 hour, but it showed higher use of hemosome rather than normal blood after 2 hour. Because microencapsulation of normal red blood cells prevent hemolysis of normal red blood cells.

        Two subjects, Science teaching method and Study of the subject matters, are established to let students have the ability to teach the elementary science. It is an overwthelming view that Science teaching method course are merely divided into the above-mentioned two subjects by the elevation from the junior college to the senior one. But the authors discussed this theme on the junior college to the senior one. But the authors discussed this theme on the viewpoint that Study of the subject matters, newly established, is the result reflecting the significance of the elevation, not just the division of Science teaching method course inaugurated in the junior college period. The subject matters in the elementary school should include the fundamental concepts to attain the goal of the subject. That is, the subject matters should include the learning contents with the educational significance. Therefore, Study of the subject matters is defined as studying what these contents may signify educationally. From these points of view, Study of the subject matters is: 1) the study intended for the subject matters of the elementary school. That is ① what the fundamental concepts are, ② how they are related each other, ③ what their educational significance is. 2) to study the educational significance of the other subject contents. 3) a study for establishing the pertinent goal and selecting the subject matters to attain this goal when the educational conditions, such as the actual state and environment of children, are given. The authors discussed about article 1) in this paper.

      • Conjugated dendrimers with triazine peripheries and a distyrylanthracene core

        <P>We describe the synthesis and luminescence characterization of conjugated dendrimers with triazine peripheries and a distyrylanthracene core that are suitable for electroluminescence applications. The dendrimers consist of dendritic triazine wedges with high electron affinity, stilbene branches, and a distyrylanthracene core as an emitting moiety. The dendrimers have lowest unoccupied molecular orbital values of about −2.7 eV. Photoluminescence studies have indicated that a cascade energy transfer occurs from the triazine wedges to the stilbene bridges and finally to the distyrylanthracene core. Thus, the emission wavelength is determined by the distyrylanthracene core unit. The energy-transfer efficiency of the distyrylanthracene-cored dendrimers is about 47 and 20% for the first and second generations, respectively.         Improved Performance of Polymeric Light-Emitting Diodes with an Electron Blocking Layer

        <P>In this paper, we describe a new approach for fabrication of high efficient polymeric light-emitting diodes (PLEDs). In the device configuration of ITO/HTL/EBL/EML/BaF 2 :Ca:Al (ITO: indium tin oxide, HTL: hole transport layer, EBL: electron blocking layer, EML: emitting layer), EBL contains cross-linkable moieties in order to make the layer which is insoluble to layering of an additional emitting polymer. The devices with EBL exhibit strong blue emissions and higher efficiency values than those in devices without EBL. The synthesis, characterization, device fabrication, and electroluminescence (EL) properties of devices will be presented.</P>

        <P>We have synthesized conjugated dendrimer with triazine peripheries, and their luminescence properties were investigated. The dendrimers consist of dendritic triazine wedges for electron transport, distyrylbenzene core as an emitting moiety, and t-butyl peripheral groups for good processing properties. The dendrimers have LUMO values of about −2.7 eV possibly because of the triazine moiety with high electron affinity. Photoluminescence study indicates that energy transfer occurs from the triazine wedges to the stilbene bridge, and finally to the core chromophore units due to a cascade decrease of bandgap from the peripheral wedge to core moiety. Therefore, the emission wavelength was determined by the structure of the core unit. The energy transfer efficiency of distyrylbenzene-cored dendrimers was about 75 and 55% for Trz-1GD-DSB and Trz-2GD-DSB, respectively.       • Enhanced brightness and efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes with an LiF in the Alq<sub>3</sub>

        Highly efficient and bright organic light-emitting diodes have been realized by inserting a thin insulating lithium fluoride (LiF) layer in the tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq<SUB>3</SUB>) with conventional organic layers. By comparing the performances of newly devised devices as a function of the position of the LiF in the Alq<SUB>3</SUB> layer, the authors propose the optimal position of the LiF in the Alq<SUB>3</SUB> layer. Experimental results show that the efficiency and brightness of the newly devised device with LiF in the Alq<SUB>3</SUB> layer were seven times higher than that without LiF in the Alq<SUB>3</SUB> layer.
