Insecticidal Compound 3369 and Its Activity According to Structure Change

In the course of searching for new insecticidal compounds from soil microorganisms, compound 3369 was isolated and identified as oligomycin A, which is known as a potent inhibitor of mitochondrial ATPase. We tried to change the structure chemically in order to improve its toxicity (LD_(50) 2.5㎎/㎏ mouse) and insecticidal activity and got compound 3369SM1 and 3369N. These changed compounds showed decreased insecticidal activities and showed newly anti microbial activities. From these results, we deduced that changed sites of the compound 3369 structure may be essential for the insecticidal activity and these changed compounds may have new bioactivities.

광학영상을 측정을 위해서 고민감도 냉각형 CCD(Charged Coupled Device)를 이용하여 광학분자영상측정기기를 개발하였으며, 개발한 광학영상기기에서 발광영상의 측정 및 융합영상저장을 위한 도구를 설계 및 개발하였다. 소동물을 이용하여 측정하는 분자영상 연구에 적합한 사용자 인터페이스 및 융합영상의 저장을 통해 발광영역에 대한 가시화 및 정량분석에 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.

Aims: In previous clinical studies, daclatasvir (DCV) and asunaprevir (ASV) combination therapy showed both high rate of sustained virologic response (SVR) and low rate of serious adverse events. We evaluated the efficacy and safety of DCV and ASV combination therapy for patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1b infection in real world. Methods: A total of 279 patients (186 treatment-naïve patients) with chronic HCV genotype 1b infection, who received DCV and ASV combination therapy, were enrolled from five institutes in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do area. We evaluated the rates of rapid virologic response (RVR), end-of-treatment response (ETR), and SVR at 12 weeks after completion of treatment (SVR12). And we also investigated rate of adverse events and predictive factors of SVR12 failure. Results: The mean age was 58.5 (range 30-84) years, and 140 patients (50.2%) were men. Seventy-seven patients (27.6%) had liver cirrhosis. Baseline nonstructural protein 5A (NS5A) sequences were available from 268 patients. Among them, 6 patients (2.1%) had NS5A resistance- associated variants (RAVs). The rate of RVR was 96.6% (258/267), and ETR rate was 94.5% (223/236). Among 214 patients who were checked HCV RNA level at 12 weeks after completion of treatment, 195 patients (91.1%) achieved SVR12. Adverse events occurred in 20 patients (7.2%). Four patients discontinued treatment due to adverse events such as elevation of liver enzymes and severe nausea. Other adverse events included fatigue, headache, diarrhea, dizziness, loss of appetite, skin rash, and mild dyspnea. In a multivariate analysis, predictive factors of SVR12 failure were baseline NS5A RAVs (P=0.012) and failure of RVR (P=0.02). Conclusions: DCV and ASV combination therapy provided high rates of RVR, ETR, SVR12 for chronic HCV genotype 1b patients in real world. DCV and ASV combination therapy was well tolerated without serious adverse events.

Today, there are lots of progresses in the field of lens researches, especially in the microlens fabrication. Unlike normal lenses, microlens has been widely used as a role of improving the performance of photonic devices which increase the optical precision, and also used in the fields of the display. In this paper, polymer microlenses with 300 μm diameter were replicated through hot-embossing from nickel mold which was fabricated by micro-EDM. After hot-embossing process, the polymer microlenses have a rough surface due to the crater formed by micro-EDM process, which is projected onto the surface of the lenses. The surface of polymer microlenses was polished using solvent vapor to improve the surface roughness of the microlenses without changing their shape. In the experiment, the surface roughness was improved with the processing time and vapor temperature. Also, the roughness improvement was greatly affected by the solubility difference between polymer and solvent.
