Within the field of model management systems(MMS), the model integration has emerged as an important area of research. A principal objective of model integration in a model bases i to increase the porductivity of organizational modeling and decision-making activity. Recently, object-oriented concepts and technology are on the leading edge of programming language and database systems research, and their usefulness in those contexts has been successfully demonstrated. The adoption of object-oriented concept to the model integration has several benefits. Model integration problem can be classified into functional integration and definitional integration. In functional model integration, two models can be integrated by its ports. Definitional integration involves the logical linking of similar model schema. This paper showed a logical flows of model integration, and illustrated how model relationships can be detected through the concept of the object predicate. A procedure to achieve model integration is also proposed.

Today, many universities are confronted with the changing education paradigm such as e-Learning, Distance Education, Virtual University. This IT-based learning paradigm shift is certainly a new opportunity or a threat to our universities. To build a e-Learning system, not only many H/W and S/W resources but also expert personnels are required. An organization such as local university who is week at financial status can't himself plan the system. The Local University Community e-Learning Centers that support the demand of e-Learning requirements for their community are recommended. In order to operate these centers efficiently, the roles and functions of the center should first be defined, and the priorities of their functionalities must be rated. To define the functions of the center and assess their importance rating, we classified the function of it into four dimensions, ① contents development support, ② learning management support, ③ facilities and equipments support, ④ planning and operational management support, and each dimension has 3 or 5 measurement items. Most respondents say that contents development support factor is most important, and learning management support is next. We also tried to find the differences for each factor by the characteristics of responsor. The data showed that there was little differences between the groups in evaluating the importance of the functions of the center. Nevertheless the cross table analysis showed a significant meaning for each groups. Through the analysis, we could have recommended the operational implications for the e-Learning centers.

This study was carried out to evaluate the aberrant expression of ?? protein using immunohistochemical method in 10 malignant melanoma and 10 melanocytic nevi. Eight out of 10(80%) and two out of 10(20%) showed positive reaction in the nucleus of malignant melanoma and benign melanocytic nevi, respectively. In conclusion, the demonstration of ?? protein in benign melanocytic nevi greatly hinders the possibility of a diagnostic use of ?? immunostaining in differentiating malignant melanoma from benign melanocytic nevi.

Tribbles homolog 2 (TRIB2) is implicated in tumorigenesis and drug resistance in various types of cancers. However, the role of TRIB2 in the regulation of tumorigenesis and drug resistance of cancer stem cells (CSCs) is still elusive. In the present study, we showed increased expression of TRIB2 in spheroid-forming and aldehyde dehydrogenase-positive CSC populations of A2780 epithelial ovarian cancer cells. Short hairpin RNA-mediated silencing of TRIB2 expression attenuates the spheroid-forming, migratory, tumorigenic, and drug-resistant properties of A2780 cells, whereas overexpression of TRIB2 increases the CSC-like characteristics. TRIB2 overexpression induced GSK3β inactivation by augmenting AKT-dependent phosphorylation of GSK3β at Ser9, followed by increasing β-catenin level via reducing the GSK3β-mediated phosphorylation of β-catenin. Treatment of TRIB2-ovexpressed A2780 cells with the phosphoinositide3-kinase inhibitor LY294002 abrogated TRIB2-stimulated proliferation, migration, drug resistance of A2780 cells. These results suggest a critical role for TRIB2 in the regulation of CSC-like properties by increasing the stability of β-catenin protein via the AKT-GSK3β-dependent pathways.

The present study investigated variations in soil microbial communities by fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) and the chemical properties at 24 sites of upland soils in Gyeongnam Province. The electrical conductivity of the soil under potato cultivation was significantly higher than those of the red pepper and soybean soils (p < 0.05). The gram-negative bacteria community in potato soil was significantly lower than those in the garlic and soybean soils (p < 0.05). The communities of actinomycetes and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the red pepper soil were significantly higher than those in the potato soil (p < 0.05). In addition, the cy17:0 to 16:$1{\omega}7c$ ratio was significantly lower in red pepper, soybean, and garlic soils compared with potato soil, indicating that microbial stress decreased. Consequently, differences in soil microbial community were highly associated with cultivated crop species, and this might be resulted from the difference in soil chemical properties.

Glomalin has been suggested as an enhancer for soil stability by promoting the aggregation. In this study, we examined the concentrations of glomalin and microbial characteristics in 25 controlled horticultural soils sampled from Gyeongnam Province. Total glomalin had a significant positive correlation with soil organic matter (p < 0.01), soil microbial biomass carbon (p < 0.05), and dehydrogenase activity (p < 0.05) in controlled horticultural soils. In addition, the total glomalin had a significant positive correlation with concentrations of total fatty acid methyl esters, Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, fungi, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in controlled horticultural soils (p < 0.001). In conclusion, the concentration of total glomalin could be an indicator of microbial biomass richness for sustainable agriculture in controlled horticultural soils.
Evaluation in Korean Soybean Cultivars of Resistance to Soybean Mosaic Virus
Yul-Ho Kim,Ok-Sun Kim,Jung-Kyeong Moon,Jae-Hwan Roh,Dae-Joon Im,Il-Bong Hur,Sang-Chul Lee 韓國作物學會 2001 Korean journal of crop science Vol.46 No.1
Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) resistance of Korean recommended soybeans was evaluated naturally and by mechanical inoculation in Suwon. Based on the differential reaction of forty-four soybean genotypes tested to nine different SMV strains, soybeans were classified into twenty-four groups. Myeongjunamulkong and Ilpumgeom-jeongkong showed a high degree of resistance to nine SMV strains, having no symptom. The other cultivars produced various reactions according to inoculation of each SMV strain: symptomless, mosaic or systemic necrosis. Only five cultivars such as Kwangankong, Eunhakong, Tawonkong, Namhaekong, Sobaegnamulkong were totally susceptible to every strain. There was variation in disease incidence. Soybeans, having the highest levels of resistance to G5H and G7H in the greenhouse, showed the lowest levels of SMV incidence in the field of Suwon. Myeong-junamulkong, Ilpumgeomjeongkong, Soyangkong, Pungsannamulkong, Sodamkong, Jangmikong, Geomjeong-kong2, Pureunkong, Sinpaldalkong2, Duyoukong, and Geumgangkong were fairly resistant to SMV. And SMV incidence of Taekwangkong, Saealkong and Baegunkong was over 45% with symptom of bud necrosis. And soybeans, highly resistant to SMV in the field and the greenhouse, were mainly derived from Jangyeobkong and Hwang-keumkong resistant to G1-G7.

Kim, Yul-Ho,Kim, Ok-Sun,Lee, Bong-Choon,Roh, Jae-Hwan,Kim, Myoung-Ki,Im, Dae-Joon,Hur, Il-Bong,Lee, Sang-Chul The Korean Society of Crop Science 1999 Korean journal of crop science Vol.44 No.3
Reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay was used to detect SMV strains. A pair of oligonucleotide primers were designed to include the cylindrical inclusion (CI) coding region between 4,176 to 5,560 nt. Amplification from the total RNA extracted from infected plants with SMV yielded a 1,385 bp DNA fragment. RT-PCR was shown to be $10^3$ times more sensitive than the ELISA assay and it could detect a virus in $10^{-6}$ dilution. Restriction enzyme analysis of RT- PCR products using EcoR I showed that SMV isolates were classified into six groups according to the patterns of restriction fragments.
