Two-component injection molding is one of special methods to inject a hot melt polymer on a frozen polymer instead of a steel cavity. After its injection molding, the wash-out phenomenon near gates causes a serious problem for better injection molded parts design. In this study, the causes analyses and estimated solution about wash-out were carried out. Wash-out was caused by the temperature and pressure increment in a frozen polymer due to a hot melt polymer during injection. On the basis of these analyses, the shape of gate was proposed to improve its defect. This study will helpful to lower the design barrier for two-component injection molded parts.

In incremental forming of sheet metal, it has been known that the formability depends upon the type of tool to be used and its size. In the present study, two types of tools -- one is ball roller and the other is hemispherical head tool -- were used to assess the formability of fully annealed aluminum sheet of 0.3mm in thickness. In the latter, tools of four different sizes were compared. As a method to assess the formability, the straight groove test was proposed where biaxial tension occurs at the ends of the groove while plane-strain tension occurs along the groove. The test is simple, but quite reliable.

Among various methods to manufacture the PDP barrier ribs, the pressing and the roll forming methods are simple and economical because they form the ribs by utilizing the plastic flow of the green tape in a relatively short time without generating air-polluting dusts. In the present study, the roll forming method was investigated by experiments as well as numerical analyses and in result the groove roll and the preform were designed. The effect of draft angle, corner radius, and initial thickness of the green tape on the plastic flow was examined by a series of parametric studies. The preform was recommended to ease the plastic flow into the grooves and to avoid the occurrence of cracks during rolling and sintering processes.

In-pipe micromachine locomotion via the inertial stepping principle

This paper discusses an in-pipe inspection micromachine intended for locomotion inside a small diameter pipe. The micromachine locomotionis based on the inertial stepping principle, which utilizes the drive force of the two-body impact. The in-pipe micromachinecontacts the pipe through the elastic bristles installed on the in-pipe machine and in two lines and crossways with respect to the micromachineaxle. The paper describes the principle of locomotion and the dynamics by which the unknown of both the parameters and therelations are experimentally identified. Based on the results, a simulation model was created, and the results of the simulations werecompared with experimental results.
대형 버스의 엔진룸에서 흡음재이탈 및 전기적인 단락에 관련된 화재 사례 고찰

이 논문은 대형버스의 화재에 관련된 고장사례를 고찰한 논문이다. 첫번째 사례는, 엔진룸 상단에 부착된 흡음재가 노후되어 떨어지면서 엔진쪽에 화재를 발생시킨 것으로 확인되었다. 두번째 사례는, 컴프레서의 부하로 인해전기적인 단락에 의해 화재가 발생한 것으로 확인되었다. 세번째 사례는, 머플러 상단에 부착된 흡음재가 떨어져배기매니폴드와 연결되어 있는 머플러 상단에서 점화되어 화재가 발생된 것으로 확인되었다. 네번째 사례는, 운전석 우측 크래쉬 보디부의 졍션 박스내에서 전기전인 쇼트가 발생하여 화재가 발생된 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서, 대형버스의 화재는 흡음재의 노후, 전기적인 단락에 의해 화재가 발생하였을 경우 피해가 크고 대단히 위험하므로철저하게 관리하여 화재 발생이 없도록 하여야 한다. This paper is a purpose to study the failure examples for a large bus vehicle fire. The first example, the researcher certified the fact that the absorbing material break away from the upper side of engine room because of weaken durability and the fire was produced in engine. The second example, it sought the fact that the fire breaks out by electric short because of over-load of compressor. The third example, it found the fact that the fire took place by heating of bellows upper part that was connected with muffler and exhaust manifold. The fourth example, it knew the fact that the fire occurred because of the electric short inside junction box of crash body part that was located to driver seat rightside. Therefore, the fire of a large bus occurring by decrepit of absorbing material and electric short have to thoroughgoingly manage the damage and dangerousness if it happens.
