        다문화아동의 이중언어사용과 교육 서비스 제공에서 통역사 협력에 관한 연구

        Purpose : TThe main purpose of this study was to explore dual language use in children with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CLD), as well as communication problems and cooperation with interpreters during service delivery. Methods : A questionnaire consisting of nineteen questions about demographic information, bilingual use, and interpreting, and was distributed to 300 LDI; 209 completed surveys were returned. Data were analyzed through descriptive and inference statistics. Open-ended questions were analyzed by theme analysis and themes and sub-themes were derived. Results : 72.7% of LDI provided services to bilingual children for about a year and most of them were immigrant children and children born of multicultural families in Korea. When communication problems occurred, they were solved through interpreters, parents, and grandparents. 76.1% of LDI requested interpreters during service delivery. The purpose of cooperating with the interpreters was highest in interviews and consultation, and also for language assessment. Interpreter cooperation was found to be satisfactory for the following reasons: ease of communication, ease of information delivery, and availability of language assessment available. In contrast, however, they also reported difficulty in interpreting due to the following: limitation of information delivery, reliability problems in language assessment, and lack of interpreters' professionalism. Conclusions : A large number of bilingual children were referred to language facilitation services with interpreters cooperating throughout the service process to solve communication problems with children, parents, and other people. 목적 : 본 연구는 다문화아동의 교육 지원 서비스와 관련하여 현장에 의뢰되는 이중언어사용 아동, 언어차이로 발생한 의사소통 문제 해결, 소통을 위한 통역사 협력에 대하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법: 연구를 위해서 설문문항을 구성하고 예비실험을 거쳐 최종 문항을 완성하였다. 구글독스를 통해300명의 언어발달지도사에게 설문지를 배포하여 209개를 수거하였다. 결과분석을 위해 폐쇄형 문항은기술통계와 추론통계를 이용하였으며, 개방형 문항은 주제분석으로 중심주제와 하위주제를 도출하였다. 결과: 분석결과 언어발달지도사의 72.7%가 최근 약 1년 동안 이중언어사용 대상자에게 교육서비스를제공하였으며, 중도입국아동과 우리나라에서 출생한 다문화가족 자녀가 대다수였다. 의사소통의 문제가발생하였을 때 통번역사, 대상자의 부모, 조부모 등을 통하여 해결하고 있었다. 76.1%의언어발달지도사가 서비스 제공 과정에서 통역을 요청하였으며. 통역사를 요청한 목적은 면담 및 상담이가장 많았으며, 언어평가, 부모교육, 언어촉진 교육 과정에서도 협력하고 있었다. 통역사 협력에 대하여만족도가 높았으며, 그 이유가 수월한 의사소통, 정보전달 용이, 의사소통능력 평가 가능 등때문이었다. 통역과정에서 느낀 어려움은 정보전달의 한계, 언어평가 결과에 대한 신뢰도 문제, 통역서비스 접근성, 통역사 전문성의 문제 때문인 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 다문화현장에 상당수의이중언어아동이 의뢰되고 있었으며, 아동, 부모 등과 의사소통 문제를 해결하기 위해서 서비스 전반에서통역사와 협력하고 있었다.

        다문화가정의 이중언어 사용에 관한 질적 탐색

        Purpose: With the increase in Korea's multicultural population, interest in the bilingual use of children from culturally and linguistically diverse environments is increasing. This research qualitatively examined bilingual use in multicultural families. Methods: Focus group interviews were conducted with mothers raising children from culturally and linguistically diverse environments; the interviews were recorded and transcribed. Twenty-six mothers from multicultural families living in metropolitan cities, small cities, and rural areas participated in the study and were divided into four focus groups. The mean age of the mothers was 33, and the average residence period in Korea was 9.3 years. The mothers' ethnic origin was as follows: Chinese including ethnic Koreans (27%), Vietnamese (15.3%), Philippine (15.3%), Mongolian (11.5%), and Japanese (11.5%). The data were analyzed based on themes analysis and the results were derived. Results: The results showed that 10 themes and 48 sub-themes related to the dual language use of multicultural families were derived. The 10 topics were as follows: lack of understanding in dual language development; attitudes toward dual language; parental roles in child care; adaptation of mother and child to Korean society; difficulties in communicating with children and family members; changes in recognition of dual language use; appropriate time for dual language learning; benefits of using dual languages; methods for teaching dual languages; and mothers' needs for bilingual acquisition of children. Conclusion: In this study, the results were presented to mothers' perception and attitude toward bilingual use including fathers and children, and lack of understanding in dual language development. This study provides practical information on multilingual children's bilingual language development and use. 목적: 다문화인구 증가에 따라 다문화가정의 이중언어사용에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 다문화어머니를 대상으로 다문화가정의 이중언어 사용에 관해 질적으로 탐색하고 관련 정보를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 실시하였다. 방법: 다문화가정의 이중언어 사용에 관한 질적 탐색을 위해서 OO지역 다문화가족지역센터, 관련 기관에서 자녀를 양육하고 있는 다문화 어머니를 대상으로 포커스 집단을 구성하였다. 최종적으로광역시 1집단, 농어촌 2집단, 중소도시 1집단, 총 4개의 포커스 집단을 구성하고 면담을 실시하여 이중언어사용에 대한 정보를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 주제 분석에 따라 분석하여 결과를 도출하였다. 결과: 다문화가정의 이중언어 사용과 관련하여 10개의 주제와 48개의 하위주제가 도출되었으며, 도출된 10개의 주제는‘이중언어발달에 대한 이해 부족’, ‘이중언어에 대한 태도’, ‘자녀양육에서 부모의 역할’, ‘어머니와 자녀의 한국 사회 적응’, ‘의사소통의 어려움 경험’, ‘이중언어에 관한 인식의 변화, 이중언어 학습 시기, 이중언어 사용의 이점, 이중언어 학습 방법’, ‘이중언어 습득을 위한 요구’이다. 결론: 다문화가정의 이중언어 사용에는 이중언어발달에 대한 이해, 이중언어에 대한 태도, 부모 역할 수행, 한국사회 적응 등이 영향을 주고 있었으며 이는 다시 가족 구성간의 의사소통, 자녀의 어머니 모국어 학습시기와 학습 방법 등과 관련이 있었다. 다문화가정에서는 아동이 어머니의 모국어를 사용하였을 때 이점은 인식하고 있었으며, 이중언어에 대한 생각이 변화하고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 우리나라 다문화가정의 이중언어 사용과 언어환경과 관련되어 여러 측면에서 실제적인 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것으로 보이며, 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 대상자를확대하여 양적연구를 통해 살펴볼 필요가 있을 것이다.

        다문화 현장에서 통역사 협력에 관한 연구

        Purpose: In order to provide services to multicultural people in the fields of education, medicine, and treatment, communication is necessary. This study sought to investigate the cooperation of interpreters to solve communication problems due to language differences in speech therapy settings. The purpose of the study is to examine the bilingual ability of speech therapists and their experience and satisfaction with interpreter cooperation. Methods: For the study, survey questions were developed through analysis and preliminary research. The questionnaire was distributed online to speech therapists across the country using Naver Form. A total of 240 questionnaires were collected. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, and t-test were performed using SPSS 21.0. Results: First, 9% of respondents answered that they could use languages other than Korean. Second, 60.7% of respondents experienced communication problems due to language differences, which mainly occurred during parent counseling and initial interviews. Language development instructors had the most communication difficulties and solved this problem by using parents or translation applications. 22.2% of respondents had experience working with interpreters in the past year. The interpreters used were mostly married immigrant interpreters, and translation applications. The purpose of using an interpreter was for initial interviews, and parent counseling. The satisfaction level with interpreter cooperation was 3.72 points. There were differences in satisfaction depending on the workplace and educational background. Overall, the satisfaction level of language development instructors was high. Conclusions: Recently, the languages spoken by marriage immigrant families are becoming diverse. It is time for Korea to take a serious look at cooperation with interpreters in the field.

        실어증자의 직업적 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 어휘 명명하기 프로그램 개발 연구

        The purpose of this study was to develop word naming program for vocational communication ability of aphasic patients and investigate the effect of the modified deblocking treatment program to improve word naming ability with two aphasic patients. Treatment items in this study were composed of 60concert nouns. The modified deblocking treatment program was different from the Weigl's deblocking concept in that the modified deblocking used additional cues (deblockers) as well as primary deblockers which was phonemic stimulations. The seven additional cues included writing, reading, an open-ended sentence, description, line drawing, gesture, and repetition. A 52 year-old male patient with Broca's aphasa and a 45-year-old female patient with conduction aphasia participated in the experiment. The treatment session lasted for 1 hour and the treatment took place 4 times a week. Each subject was intervened 20 sessions. The treatment took place in their homes which were the most comfortable environment for them. The results were as follows. First, the modified deblocking treatment program was effective on improvement of the picture naming ability. Second, the modified deblocking treatment program was effective on the generalization of the picture naming ability to untreated words. Third, the modified deblocking treatment program was effective in improving general communication ability which was shown in the K-WAB test results. 이 연구는 명명하기의 전문적인 중재를 통해 성인 실어증 장애인의 직업적 의사소통 능력을 향상시키고자 탈 장애 단서와 부가적 단서를 이용한 보완된 탈막힘 기법 프로그램을 개발하였다. 어휘 명명하기는 성인 실어증자의 언어회복 이후에도 지속적으로 나타나는 문제로 의료적 처치 이후 직업재활 과정에서도 지속적인 중재가 요구된다. 선행 연구를 바탕으로 탈 막힘 단서와 부가적 단서를 이용한 보완된 탈 막힘 기법 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 개발된 프로그램을 성인 실어증자를 대상으로 적용하여 프로그램의 효과를 알아보았다. 그 결과 대상자 모두에게서 명명하기 수행력의 향상과 유지 및 일반화의 효과가 있었으며, 명명하기 과제 외에 몇몇 언어 수행력에도 개선이 있었다. 대상자 1의 경우 알아듣기, 따라말하기, 이름대기, 읽기에서 향상된 언어 수행력을 보여주었으며, 특히 이름대기와 쓰기에서 가장 큰 향상을 나타내었다. 대상자 2는 알아듣기, 이름대기, 읽기, 쓰기에서 진전된 언어 수행력을 보여주었으며, 특히 이름대기와 읽기에서 진전이 있었다.

        혼합연구 방법을 이용한 다문화아동의 언어 습득에 관한 인식 연구

        Purpose: Language development of culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) children is becoming a subject of interest in various fields along with the increase in foreign residents in Korea. Speech therapists directly provide services related to language acquisition for multicultural children. This study aims to investigate Korean language development, bilingual development, and foreign parents’ perceptions of native language acquisition. Methods: To develop questions, closed-ended and open-ended questions were developed using a mixed research method. The questionnaire was distributed online to speech therapists across the country. Depending on the research purpose, the questionnaires of 267 respondents were analyzed using frequency analysis, chi-square test, and content analysis. Results: First, as a result of closed-ended item analysis, 64.8% of the responding speech therapists responded that acquisition of Korean should be the focus, about 30% of them were about acquiring bilingual language, and about 6% were about acquiring foreign parents’ language. Second, as a result of open-ended question analysis, a total of 327 details were extracted from the data. The four categories were classified into 28 contents, with ‘Korean language acquisition focus’ being the most frequent with 232 items, followed by ‘bilingual acquisition’ with 82 items, ‘language acquisition by parents of foreign residents’ with 12 items, and ‘language development-related factors’ with 21 items. Conclusions: Speech therapists play a role in providing various support to multicultural children. To properly perform this role, related research must be actively conducted and the results reflected in various aspects.

      • 다문화 현장에 의뢰되는 이중언어 대상자 현황과 그에 따른 요구 탐색

        Purpose: Multicultural population in Korea is 1.74 million, 3.4% of the total population in 2015. As a result, the children with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds(CLD) is also rapidly increasing. Accordingly, government departments are providing various support services to children and their families. Representative one is the language development support program for children with CLD, which started in 2009. The purpose of this study was to explore language developmental supports(LDS) ‘needs serving on children with CLD and to discuss the results of this study in various aspects. Methods: For this study, a questionnaire consisting of participant characteristics and challenges. 197 LDS participated in the survey and the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Of the 197 LDS, 72.6% answered that they provided services to bilingual children and reported that they had challenges in communicating with parents and shortage of sources. Referred children in frequency were mostly immigrants, multicultural children, and foreign students in order. Conclustion: The results of this study seem to require detailed discussion.
