To investigate the technology trends in organic farming using patent analysis, total 1,026 patents in organic farming in Australia, EU, Japan, Korea and USA between 1974 and 2014 were analyzed. The number of the patents applied in organic farming was largest in Korea, followed by Japan and the USA. Since 2000, the patent application in Korea and USA increased drastically, while in Japan the patents in organic farming were applied steadily in the late 1980s. The applied patents in organic farming were mainly dominated in the field of organic production technology (AA) especially in Korea, while those in environmental assessment were merely applied. Most patent appliers were biased to private applier (80%) than national institutes including university. With this study, it is highly recommended that national interests and R&D on the organic farming fields are needed to meet the food safety.
망 효율성을 고려한 P2P 스트리밍 시스템 설계 및 구현

Recently, many researches on P2P overlay network-based multimedia streaming services have been actively performed because of their high scalability and cost-efficiency advantages. However, P2P overlay networks also have the shortcoming of generating higher traffic owing to their unicast-based one-to-many multimedia deliveries. In order to reduce the traffic generated by the P2P streaming overlay network, we propose an ISP and locality-based parent node discovery method and check its feasibility through an implementation of a prototype streaming system. The measurement of RTTs and hop counts for random nodes having different ISPs and localities shows the proposed method to be able to shorten about 32% RTTs and about 17% Hop counts. P2P 오버레이 네트워크는 높은 확장성과 저렴한 비용 등을 장점으로 가지고 있어 이 구조를 활용하여 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하는 P2P 스트리밍 기술에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 하지만, P2P 오버레이 구조는 일대다 유니캐스트의 형태로 데이터를 전달하기 때문에 많은 네트워크 트래픽을 유발시키는 단점을 지니고 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 ISP여부와 물리적 지역정보를 활용하여 부모노드를 선택함으로써 네트워크 트래픽을 적게 유발시킬 수 있는 부모노드탐색기법을 제안하고, 이를 탑재한 P2P 스트리밍 시스템을 구현하여 제안 기법 실현 가능성을 검증한다. 구현한 P2P 스트리밍 시스템을 평가하기 위해 임의의 ISP와 지역을 갖는 노드들에 대해 RTT와 Hop count를 측정하여 동일 ISP일 경우 약 32% 적은 RTT와 약 17% 적은 Hop count를 보임을 확인하였다.

To investigate the technology trends in organic farming using journal article analysis, total 2,378 published articles in organic farming between 1974 and 2014 were analyzed. The number of the articles published in organic farming has been steadily increased since 2006. As for category, articles in the field of producing the safe organic products and management (A) were published relatively dominantly, especially division of nutrient and soil management (AA). In the foreign countries, lots of articles in environmental assessment and safety field (B) were published than Korea. the main institutes published the articles in organic farming were Swedish University, Sweden and US department of Agriculture, USA. In case of Korea, the articles in the field of environmental assessment and safety (B) were relatively merely published, especially division of environment in organic farming (BA). With this study, more research based on the environment and safety fields in organic farming should be focused on.

BACKGROUND: High input to the arable land is contributed to increasing productivity with causing the global environmental problems at the same time. Rapeseed cultivation has been forced to reassess its positive point for utilization of winter fallow field. The Objective of this study was performed to assess the environmental impact of rapeseed cultivation with double-cropping system in paddy rice on Yeonggwang district using life cycle assessment technique. METHODS AND RESULTS: For assessing each stage of rapeseed cultivation, it was collected raw data for input materials as fertilizer and pesticide and energy consumption rate by analyzing the type of agricultural machinery and working hours by 1 ton rapeseed as functional unit. Environmental impacts were evaluated by using Eco-indicator 95 method for 8 impact categories. It was estimated that 216 kg CO2-eq. for greenhouse gas, 3.98E-05kg CFC-11-eq. for ozone lazer depletion, 1.78kg SO2-eq. for acidification, 0.28kg PO4-eq. for eutrophication, 5.23E-03kg Pb-eq. for heavy metals, 2.51E-05kg B(a)p-eq. for carcinogens, 1.24kg SPM-eq. for smog and 6,460 MJ LHV for energy resource are potentially emitted to produce 1 ton rapeseed during its whole cultivation period, respectively. It was considered that 90% of these potential came from chemical fertilizer. For the sensitivity analysis, by increasing the productivity of rapeseed by 1 ton per ha, potential environmental loading was reduced at 22%. CONCLUSION(s): Fertilization affected most dominantly to the environmental burden, originated from the preuse stage, i.e. fertilizer manufacturing and transporting. It should be included and assessed an indirect emission, which is not directly emitted from agricultural activities. Recycling resource in agriculture with reducing chemical fertilizer and breeding the high productive variety might be contribute to reduce the environmental loading for the rapeseed cultivation.
