      • 人間敎育을 위한 敎育評價의 方向 探索

        In current system of school education, much of the criticism is given to the evaluation system, especially the scoring and grading system. Current evaluation system has many side-effect problems because of its competitive character. For one student to get more, another must make do with less. Contesting with others over the extrinsic spoils of learning is one important aspect of students' life in schools. Grades of numbers are hopelessly inadequate to convey the load of meaning that we sometimes believe we are putting into them. Students do not have any educational meaning over the school achievement records. They just categorize and label students. This study gives us an awareness that we need some serious reflections over the current system of educational evaluation in schools, and suggests five alternative principles which is considered as orientations new evaluation system must follow in order to humanize school education. They are the principles of: (1) educational evaluation for the fullest development of all students, (2) educational evaluation for the whole aspects of a student, (3) integrated use of various methods, (4) use of language rather than numbers, (5) educational evaluation as an educative process.

        인천교육대학교 2001학년도 신입생 선발 전형 자료의 분석적 연구

        1. 문제의 제기 교육부의 2002년 기본 입시 방향과 맞물려 각 대학들은 다양한 전형 자료를 통하여 신입 생을 선발하고, 2002년 입시에서는 더욱 다양화될 전망이다. 이러한 환경적 변화와 맞물려 인 천교육대학도 2002년 대학 전형의 다양한 변화를 위하여 정책연구와 세미나를 통하여 노력을 경주하고 있다고 판단된다. 그러나 전형자료의 타당성, 비율, 급간 등이 잘못 적용될 경우 오히려 예비교사로서 자질 있는 학생들을 선발한다는 기본적 가정에 오류를 가져 올 수 있다. 따라서 2001년 입시의 전형요소를 면밀히 검토하고, 아울러 합격에 미치는 영향을 분석하 는 연구는 2002년 입시의 시행 착오를 줄이는데 큰 기여를 할 수 있을 것이다. 즉 전형요소의 다양성, 타당성, 투명성, 객관성 등을 기초로 한 방안 마련은 시의 적절하며, 이는 순간적인 정 책 결정의 성격이 아니라 체계적인 연구의 절차를 통하여 구안되어야 할 것이다.

        한국어교육 학위과정 유학생의 사회통합 경험에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to explore cases on the social integration experience of international students in the Korean language education degree program and to examine the process and meaning of social integration. They are studying in Korean language education (3 master’s degrees and 6 doctors) after obtaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Korea. This study conducted in-depth interviews with these 9 international students and analyzed cases. The analysis was performed according to the four social integration categories suggested by Esser (2001), ‘cultural adaptation’, ‘granting status’, ‘interaction’, and ‘identification or integration’. As a result of the study, in the cultural adaptation stage, they migrated for academic purposes with a positive perception of Korea. They called Korean the language of opportunity and dream. In addition, they formed human capital through economic activities while working part-time at schools and communities. In the status-giving stage, they also experienced the exercise of institutional rights in Korea through the exercise of legal rights at schools or communities. They were showing the process of social integration of coexistence and win-win, such as maintaining social relationships with Korean or international students from other nationalities in the community. In the interaction stage, they were interacting while working on social networks in schools or communities. While experiencing cultural differences with their home countries, they formed cultural capital, and in this process, they experienced a third culture. In the identification or integration stage, consent to the communal values of Korean society and citizenship were internalized, expressing a sense of belonging through the acquisition of nationality. The suggestions through this study are as follows. First, in the cultural adaptation stage, education and information provision programs are required. Second, in the status-giving stage, international students need support for living information such as a one-stop service center. Third, in the interaction stage, multicultural understanding and social integration education are required to share the cultural capital of their home country. Fourth, in the identification or integration stage, various policy support is needed so that they can settle stably. In the future, we look forward to various proposals on the social integration experience of international students in the Korean language education degree program.

        초등교육의 문제와 당면 과제 : 분석과 진단

        지식사회 또는 정보화사회로 불리는 21세기는 지금까지 우리가 경험한 것과는 전혀 다른 모습으로 다가오고 있다. 컴퓨터와 통신 수단의 발달은 지식의 생성과 전달 방식을 획기적으로 변화시키고 있으며, 이에 따라 우리의 초등교육도 새로운 도전과 과제를 안고 있다. 우리의 초등교육이 해결해야 할 과제로는 1) 초등교육의 양적 팽창에 따른 질적 성장의 과제, 2) 현대 사회의 기계화와 공학화에 따른 인간교육의 과제, 3) 정보매체와 통신 수단의 변화에 따른 교육체제와 방법 재정립의 과제, 4) 우수한 초등교사의 확보 등을 들 수 있다. 이러한 과제를 해결해 나가고자 할 때 우리가 당면하는 초등학교 교실의 문제로는 1) 과밀학급과 획일적 수업의 문제, 2) 제7차 교육과정의 적용에 대한 학교현장의 갈등과 혼란 문제, 3) 수행평가 체제의 적용과 발전 문제, 4) 교사의 업무량 과다와 수업 부실 문제, 5)초등교사의 원만한 수급과 전문성 향상 문제 등을 진단할 수 있다. 우리 초등교육은 이러한 문제들을 시급히 해결하고 방면한 과제들을 해결해 나가는데 지혜와 힘을 모아야 할 것이다. The knowledge-based society and information age have arrived with 21st century, and most societal institutions are experiencing profound changes as a result. All aspects of our society have been or are being transformed by the presence of new digital technologies over which immense amounts of information flow at nearly the speed of light. Education, especially elementary education as the foundation of educational system, is not an exception. We have to raise some basic questions about how the role and tasks of elementary education in our society must be changed by the new ways in which we interact with knowledge and informations. New tasks of elementary education in the changing society are: 1) innovative efforts to upgrade the quality of education over the expansion of the quantity, 2) humanization of education in the age of technology, 3) establishing new roles and methods of education in knowledge-based information society, 4) educating new competent teachers for the new professionalism. Given a deeper understanding on the new tasks of elementary education, we have to consider some problems to be solved in our school classroom in order to accomplish the above new tasks. I analyze and diagnose five issues : 1) problem of big class size over which a teacher can not control and interact with children, 2) conflict on the implementation of the 7th national curriculum in schools, 3) debates among teachers on the method and application of performance evaluation, 4) overloading of teachers' side work which is not connected with teaching children, 5) lack of competent teachers and professionalism.
