Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is an uncommon entity characterized by large amount of mucinous-jelatinous fluid disseminated in abdominal cavity and pelvic cavity with implants on omentum and bowel. The symptoms of this disease are mostly abdominal distension, dyspepsia, and intraabdominal palpable mass. The origin of PMP is under investigation yet, that is known to arise from appendix, ovary mostly. Also it`s etiology, treatment, and prognosis are speculative. Rare cases were reported that have invasion to other organ except appendix and ovaries, but we experienced a case of PMP associated with borderline mucinous tumor of ovary with invasive metastasis of bladder. So we report this case with a brief review with literature.
Effects of Mitosene Analogues on Growth Inhibition of Human Cervical Cancer Cell Lines

실험적 자궁암 치료제로서 본 연구소에서 합성한 마이토센유사체를 인체 자궁암세포주인 SiHa, C33A, HeLa, CaSKi에 처리하여, 체외 항암활성 측정시 합성 마이토센유사체들은 이 들 세포주에 대하여 대조 항암제들에 비하여 의의있는 세포독성을 보였으며, SiHa 세포주를 이용한 종양클론형성억제검사에서는 22번 화합물만의 종양성장 억제활성이 가장 우수하였고 다른 화합물들은 대조항암제들에 비하여 활성이 낮았다. 이 마이토센유사체들에 대한 체외 항암감수성결과는 향후 전임상적인 자궁경부암 화합요법제의 기초자료로 유용할것으로 생각된다. To develop a promising alkylating agents for anti-cervical cancer chemotherapy, five mitosene analogues were synthesized. Despite the potentiality of better cytotoxicity on solid tumor cells as opposed to that on rapidly-doubled leukemic cells, there have been no reports on the inhibition of the cervical cancer cell line by mitosene analogues. The present experiment was designed to investigate whether mitosene analogues can effectively inhibit the cellular proliferation of cervical cancer cells by using an in vitro chemosensitivty system. The mitosene analogues displayed a potent cytotoxic effect on the tested cervical cancer cell lines. Among the analogues, (22) compound gave the best inhibitory effect on SiHa tumor colonies formation. These data indicate that mitosene analogues can effectively inhibit the growth of cervical cancer cells in vitro.
방사선치료 장비들의 매일 정도관리를 위한 다용도 모형의 제작

We examined the accuracy and efficiency of phantom by applying the designed phantom in order to check daily quality assurance easily by objective criteria and to confirm daily quality assurance of linear accelerator, simulator, and CT-simulator. The results of 10 weeks of linear accelerator output dose using American Association of Physicists in Medicine(AAPM) daily quality assurance guide were measured within ${\pm}1%$ of error. Mechanical check of laser alignment, optical distance indicator(ODI), CT scanner laser and alignment of gantry lasers with the center of imaging plane were measured within ${\pm}1mm$. Daily average working time for daily quality assurance of radiation therapy equipments was 38 minutes. The designed phantom was easy to install and daily quality assurance was possible with only one installation. The aspects reproducibility and efficiency as well as accuracy of quality assurance were excellent.

High energy electron beams were to concentrically dose inside a tumor and more energy is a shape decreased of dose. Therefore, it is useful to radiation therapy of a tumor. Also high energy electron beams ionized into collision with a atom in structure material of tissue and it has big changes to dose distribution by multiple scattering. The study had to establish characteristic of electron beams from interaction of electron beams and materials. Experiment method was to measure dependence of electron beam central axis for depth dose curve, field flatness and symmetry and field size dependence. The results were able to evaluate data for a datum pint of electron beam. Also radiotherapy has to be considered for not only energy pencil of lines but characteristic, electron guide and isodose curves distribution.
자궁경부의 원발성 Signet Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma

Signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the cervix is most commonly considered to be metastatic in origin. We describe one case of primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the cervix occuring in 49-year-old patient. The lesion was located at the posterior lip of the cervix and about 3 cm in size. This case was parametrium thickening in pelvic examination and positive for HPV type 18. CCRT (concurrent chemoradiotherapy) was done for clinical FIGO stage ⅡB adenocarcinoma of the cervix. The patient is alive for 6month since diagnosis and disappear lesion of the cervix. A upper gastroenteroscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, intravenous pyelogram, abdominal pelvic CT, PET CT, mammogram were reported negative. Therefore we concluded this case for a primary cervical origin of signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix.

It has been believed that the intact placental membranes are a good barrier to ascending infection, but this may be only partly true.` Neonatal infection without premature rupture of the amniotic membranes occurs in 1-2% of births. The prevalence of membranes inflammation among births at term is approximately 10%.2-4. Chorioamnionitis is a frequent cause of fetal death mostly as a silent chorioamnionitis without maternal signs of infection. 4 Below we present a case of subclinical acute chorioamnionitis in a woman admitted because of labor pain at 39weeks with intact membranes and subsequent sudden intrauterine fetal death. Culture specimens from the endometrium and uterine cervix showed growth of Staphylococcus aureus.

Ectopic adrenal tissue is observed in about 50% of neonates, but observed in about 1% of adults as it atrophies and disappears over time. In most cases, ectopic adrenal tissue is found in organs below the diaphragm such as liver, pancreas, kidney, transverse colon and male and female genital tract. However, ectopic adrenal tissue found in the uterine adnexa is a very rare case through the world. Ectopic adrenal tissue was incidentally found in the right uterine adnexa after total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingooophorectomy, so we report this case with a brief review of literatures.

Ionization chambers often exhibit a stem effect, caused by interactions of radiation with air near the chamber end, or with dielectric in the chamber stem or cable. In this study measured stem effect correction factor for length of ionization chamber from medical linear accelerator recommend to with the use of stem correction method. For a model of the Farmer-type chamber, were used to calculate the beam quality correction factor. These interactions contribute to the apparent measured exposure. Additionally, it needs to consider ionization chamber use of small volume and stem effect of cable by a large field. Linear accelerator generated photons energy and increased dose repeatedly measured by using stem correction method. Stem effect was dependence of the energy and increases with photon energy conditions improved of beam quality. In conclusion, stem effect correction factor was measured within 0.4% calculated according to the exposures stem length and also supposed to determined below 1% of another stem correction method.
