혈액에서의 genomic DNA의 활용은 성별의 구별에서부터 질병의 유무 및 진단에 이르기까지 다양하게 사용되어지고 있다. 이에 따라 좀 더 효율적이고 빠른 genomic DNA의 분석이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 지금까지 혈액에서의 genomic DNA PCR을 위해서는 복잡한 genomic DNA 추출 과정이 선행 되었다. 본 연구에서는. 혈구세포내에서 유일하게 핵을 가지며 DNA를 가지고 있는 백혈구만을 선별 하여 이를 PCR 증폭을 수행하여 기존의 방법의 약 3배 정도 적은 시간과 화학물질을 사용하여 비슷한 결과를 얻을 수 있는 microfluidic chip을 설계하였다. Genomic DNA PCR (polymerase chain reaction) method must need to extraction step. We collected to the leukocyte that is only to have a nuclear and DNA in whole blood component. The exofcted leukocyte was applied to the PCR method in directly. A high effciency microfluidic chip was designed to extract leukocyte from whole blood using the lab-on a chip technology. This chip was able to the fast time and low chemical volume by 3-fold.

As decreasing size of chips, the need of wafer level packaging is increased in semi-conductor and display industries. Temperature uniformity is a crucial factor in vacuum soldering process to guarantee quality of bonding between chips and wafer. In this paper, a stepwise iterative algorithm has been suggested to obtain output profile of each heat source. Since this algorithm is based on open-loop stepwise iterative experimental technique, it is easier to implement and cost effective than real time feedback controls. Along with some experiments, it was shown that the suggested algorithm can remarkably improve temperature uniformity of wafer during whole heating process compared with the ordinary manual trial-and error method.

Active micro-vibration control of a structure, which simulates a stepper device, is performed using a pair of piezolectric actuators. The control aims at reducing the translational and rotational vibrations of the upper plate when the base is subject to seismic disturbance and the upper plate undergoes impulsive transient motion. Using the experimentally determined model, derivative control scheme is adopted so that the damping of the closed-loop system is effectively increased. It is found that the predicted control performance is in good agreement with the experimental results. Finally, the limit cycle phenomenon due to the controller voltage saturation is compared with the simulation.

The motion analysis of a translation device driven by a piezoelectric actuator is performed to identify the mechanics of impact drive mechanism and to find the maximum speed waveform. The translation device is modeled as a semidefinite two-degree-of-freedom system. The motion analysis includes effects of friction force between moving mass and contact surface, dynamics of voltage amplifier and piezoelectric elements, and hysteresis of piezoelectric actuator. Base on the model, simulation studies are carried out and then compared with experimental results. It is found that the error between moving distances obtained by analysis and experiment is less than 15% and that the actual motion of moving mass is well predicted by the analytical work, finally, precision positioning experiments are carried out by using a proximity sensor as a feedback sensor. Position control of moving mass is initiated by the maximum speed waveform and finely tuned by the scaled down waveform so that accurate positioning is accomplished within the resolution of the sensor.
