This experiment carried out to review influence of relative humidity, temperature and net weight on cigarette hardness for the uniformal control of cigarette quality. Obtained results are as follows: 1. The difference in the cigarette physical properties of constant hardness control is considerably lower than that of constant net weight control. 2. Contribution rate for cigarette hardness is relative humidity > net weight > temperature. 3. The multiple regression equation of cigarette hardness related with relative humidity, temperature and net weight is calculated as follows.

1. Average moisture content of tobacco in BIB silo was about 19: 1% until 4hours conditioned time, and then moisture variation of tobacco after 2hr conditioned was very small. 2. Application of mathematical model for ordering system. 1) The constant K in the exponential equation varies inversely with both relative humidity and equilibrium moisture. 2) Time needed to order blending tobacco leaves with standard moisture from bulking and blending silo was 4 hours. 3) Reconstituted tobacco sheet had higher moisture absorption ratio than Oriental and Burley tobacco. 4) For minimize of conditioning time in BIB silo, the values of K and Mo given in this study can be used in equation(1) to calculate moisture absorption ratio and optimum conditioning time. 3. Average moisture content and water activity of conditioned tobacco for 4 hours in BIB silo was about 20% and 0.65. In this condition. microbial life will inhibite 4. Physical properties of conditioned tobacco in bulking and blending silo for 4hours was virtually no change.

To correct the difference of filling volumn for various cut tobacco and puffed stem according to moisture contents, correction equation was estamated by a simple regression analysis. The $R^2$(coefficient of determination) of correction equation was above 0.95. To verify the precision of correction equation, we predicted correction equation of other samples. The filling volumns by the difference of $1\%$ moisture content were $0.018\;~\;0.022cc/g$ (cut tobacco) and 0.060cc/g (puffed stem). The precision of correction equation for various cut tobacco was very high, but that of puffed stem was low due to quality deviation of row stem according to a season.

Purpose: Congenital sinus of the upper lip is extremely rare and only 3 cases have been reported domestically. We report a case of congenital sinus of midline upper lip, which was found in an adolescent patient. Methods: A 14-year-old girl presented with a small pit on midline of the upper lip, which was visible at birth. The patient had never been treated for the congenital sinus because it was asymptomatic. Surgical excision under local anesthesia was performed. Results: The sinus had a tract extending into 5 mm posteroinferior and had not penetrated the oral cavity. Histological examination showed a fistulous tract lined by keratinized squamous epithelium. After complete excision, there was no recurrence and we obtained a satisfactory cosmetic result. Conclusion: Congenital sinus of the midline upper lip is extremely rare. This is a special case that is reported because it did not cause symptoms for the patient until she reached adolescence.

The quality of burley leaf tobacco was affected by various toasting conditions. In this study, we determined main factor to influence the quality of burley tobacco on toasting and established proper toasting condition to improve the quality of toasted tobacco. Our results indicated that the main factor to influence the quality of burley tobacco was the amount of treatment and 3rd drying zone temperature. We also found that the proper toasting conditions to improve the quality of toasted tobacco and reduce the smoking irritation were moisture content (34 %), amount of treatment (1,520kg/hr), 1st drying zone temperature (135$^{\circ}C$), 2nd zone drying temperature(145$^{\circ}C$) and 3rd zone drying temperature (147$^{\circ}C$).

This study analyzed the correlation between academic achievements and admission criteria at the School of Dentistry, Chonnam National University, to formulate suggestions to improve the admission criteria. The study population comprised 268 students admitted to the School of Dentistry between 2012 and 2015 who had completed at least one academic year. Academic achievements according to gender, age, former school, and recruitment differences (early/regular) were analyzed using a t-test. Dental Education Eligibility Test (DEET) score, Grade Point Average (GPA), Test of English Proficiency developed by Seoul National University (TEPS) score, and interviews were analyzed using Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficients. The t-test results showed statistically significant differences in academic achievements according to gender and recruitment differences; girls and early admission-passed students performed better than boys and regularly-passed students. There was no statistically significant difference in academic achievements based on students’ age and former school. GPA and DEET scores showed a significant correlation between academic achievements and admission criteria, while the TEPS and interview scores did not. There were also statistically significant differences in academic achievements based on gender and recruitment differences. These results can be used to better select outstanding students in the future.
