        Early Growth Response 3 유전자와 양극성 장애 간 유전연합 연구

        Objectives The early growth response 3 (EGR3) gene located in chromosome 8p21.3 is one of the susceptibility loci in many psychiatric disorders. EGR3 gene plays critical roles in signal transduction in the brain, which is involved in neuronal plasticity, neuronal development, learning, memory, and circadian rhythms. Recent studies have suggested EGR3 as a potential susceptibility gene for bipolar disorder (BPD). However, this requires further replication with an independent sample set. Methods To investigate the genetic role of EGR3 in Korean patients, we genotyped six single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the chromosome region of EGR3 in 1076 Korean BPD patients and 773 healthy control subjects. Results Among the six examined SNPs of EGR3 (rs17088531, rs1996147, rs3750192, rs35201266, rs7009708, rs1008949), SNP rs35201266, rs7009708, rs1008949 showed a significant association with BPD (p = 0.0041 for rs35201266 and BPD2, p = 0.0074 for rs1008949 and BPD, p = 0.0052 for rs1008949 and BPD1), which withstand multiple testing correction. In addition, the 'G-C-C-C' and 'G-C-G-C' haplotypes of EGR3 were overrepresented in the patients with BPD (p = 0.0055, < 0.0001, respectively) and the 'G-T-G-C' haplotype of EGR3 was underrepresented in patients with BPD (p = 0.0040). Conclusions In summary, our study supports the association of EGR3 with BPD in Korean population sample, and EGR3 could be suggested as a compelling susceptibility gene in BPD.

        어머니의 양육행동과 유아의 실행기능이 유아의 마음이론에 미치는 영향

        Objective: The main purposes of this study were to examine the effects of maternal parenting behavior on preschoolers’ theory of mind and to explore the role of executive function in the process. Methods: A total of 403 preschoolers between the ages of 3 and 5 years and their mothers participated in this study. Mothers responded to a questionnaire that included items from Parenting Behavior Scale, Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function-Preschool Version (BRIEF-P), and Childrens Social Understanding Scale (CSUS). Results: Results indicated that maternal parenting behavior did not have a direct effect on preschoolers’ theory of mind. In contrast, the indirect effect of maternal parenting behavior on preschoolers’ theory of mind through executive function was significant. In other words, positive parenting behavior led to higher levels of executive function, and as the level of preschoolers executive function was higher, the preschoolers showed higher levels of theory of mind. Conclusion: The findings indicate that in addition to laboratory assessments of performance of executive function and theory of mind, parent-report measures may be useful as an additional source of information about individual differences in executive function and theory of mind. The relations between executive function and theory of mind during the preschool period and their developmental origins are highlighted in the discussion.

        영유아 기질척도 개발 및 타당화 연구

        본 연구에서는 기질의 개인차와 발달적 안정성 및 특성을 살펴볼 수 있는 검사로서 한국 영유아를 대상으로 영유아기를 망라하는 6~71개월용 기질척도를 개발하고 타당화하고자 하였다. 국내외 기질척도들을 종합하고 관련 연구에 대한 고찰을 통해 문항을 개발하여 U시에서 6-71개월 영유아 자녀를 둔 어머니 300명을 대상으로 예비조사를 한 뒤, 온라인을 통해 전국적으로 700명(영아 200명, 걸음마기유아 200명, 유아 300명)을 대상으로 본 조사를 실시하였다. 기질척도는 영유아의 빠른 발달변화를 고려해 영아용(6~17개월), 걸음마기유아용(18~35개월), 유아용(36~71개월)으로 구분하고 보편적으로 수용되는 6개의 가설적 하위요인(활동성, 적응성, 정서성, 주의통제, 지각민감성, 규칙성)으로 구성하였다. 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 연령집단별 기질척도의 최종문항(영아: 27문항, 걸음마기유아: 27문항, 유아: 29문항)을 선정하였고 확인적 요인분석, 상관분석 및 기존 기질척도(EAS)와의 공인타당도 분석을 통해 타당도를 확인하였다. 향후 다양한 척도와의 공인타당도분석 및 본 기질척도의 유용성에 대한 연구가 수행되어야 할 것이다. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate temperament rating scales for young Korean children to analyze their developmental stability of temperament and individual differences. Based on the literature review on temperament scales, a pilot study was conducted on 300 mothers having children aged between 6–71 months. A nationwide main study was performed on 700 mothers with young children. Data were analyzed separately for three age groups: Infants (6–17 months), toddlers (18–35 months), and young children (36–71 months). Exploratory factor analyses revealed six sub-factors: activity, adaptability, affection, attention control, perceptual sensitivity, and regularity. Through expert reviews on factor analysis results, final items were selected: 27 items each for infants and toddlers, and 29 items for young children. Confirmatory factor analyses as well as correlational analyses showed construct validities of the scales; internal reliabilities were also satisfactory. Further studies are required to find more evidence for concurrent validities and scale utilities.

        어머니의 양육효능감이 36개월 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 영향: 어머니의 정서표현과 유아의 언어발달 수준의 매개효과

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the pathways of the maternal parenting efficacy, maternal emotional expression, and children’s language development level to the emotional intelligence of 36-month-old children. This study set up the research model and competitive model to verify whether the language development level of 36-month-old children affects their emotional intelligence. Methods: Sixty-eight mothers and their 36-month-old children participated in the fourth longitudinal study conducted by Hansol education research center. Mothers were asked to report their parenting efficacy, emotional expression, and the language development, and emotional intelligence of their children using questionnaires. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to examine the pathways of variables. Results: Children’s emotional intelligence was significantly and positively associated with their language development level and their mothers’ parenting efficacy and emotional expression. This study also found the sequential mediating effects of maternal emotional expression and children’s language development on the relationship between maternal parenting efficacy and children’s emotional intelligence. The research model indicated a path from children’s language development level to emotional intelligence, and was more suitable than the path indicated by the competitive model. Conclusion: Findings provide information and implications concerning the psychological and behavioral characteristics of mothers to enhance young children’s language and emotional development.
