This study was conducted for safety evaluation on 130 pet food products, which are distributed in Gwangju, South Korea. The microbial contamination part and the usage of food additives part were mainly investigated. The five microorganisms that we tested were total viable cell counts (TVC), Coliforms, Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp., pathogenic Escherichia coli and there were 15 products that exceed the microbial criteria or detected food poisoning bacteria. Specifically, Coliforms (13 products, 10%), TVC (9 products, 6.9%), Salmonella spp. (2 products, 1.5%), and E. coli (2 products, 1.5%) were followed. On the other hand, food additives such as preservatives, antioxidants and sodium nitrite were detected in 61 products. Among the preservatives, sorbic acid and benzoic acid were detected in 58 (44.6%) products. In antioxidants, Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) was detected in 3 (2.3%) products. In addition, preservatives and antioxidants were detected in 8 of 20 products labeled as 'additive-free'. Microbial contamination tended to occur mainly in small-scale individual homemade feed stores, while food additives were all detected in pet shops and supermarkets. Currently, the criteria for microorganisms and food additives for pet foods are insufficient in Korea. So, it is necessary to establish detailed feed standards and specifications for companion animals.

In this study, we developed a sensitive and specific reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) assay for rapid visual detection of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) circulated in Korea. The RT-LAMP was completed in 40 min at 62°C and the results of the assay were directly detected by naked eye without any detection process. The assay specifically amplified all 7 serotypes of FMDV RNAs but not amplified other viral and cellular nucleic acids. The sensitivity of the RT-LAMP was 10<sup>2</sup>, 10<sup>3</sup> and 10<sup>3</sup> TCID<sub>50</sub>/mL for serotype O, A and Asia 1 FMDV, respectively, which was comparable to conventional reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and relatively lower than that of real time quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR). Clinical evaluation of the RT-LAMP using different serotypes of Korean and foreign FMDV strains showed a 100% (35/35) agreement with the results of the RT-PCR and qRT-PCR. These results indicated that RT-LAMP assay developed in this study could be a valuable diagnostic method for FMDV monitoring and surveillance.
국민건강보험공단 노인 코호트 자료를 이용한 완전 무치악 환자의 치매 발병률 분석

목적: 대규모 인구집단데이터를 사용하여 양측 또는 편측 완전 무치악 여부와 치매와의 관련성에 대하여 알아본다. 재료 및 방법: 만 60세 이상을 대상으로 구축된 건강보험공단 노인 코호트 데이터베이스를 사용하여 후향적 코호트 연구를 설계하였다. 실험군은 완전 무치악 코호트로 2012년 7월 1일부터 2013년 12월 31일 까지 1개 이상의 상악 또는 하악 레진상 완전의치 보험 처방 이력이 있는 사람을 대상으로 하였고, 대조군은 유치악 코호트로 같은 기간 동안 잔존치아에 대한 보존적 치아 처치 이력이 있는 사람을 대상으로 하였다. 모든 대상자들은 이 기간 동안 치매로 진단 또는 치료 받은 기록이 없었다. 성향점수매칭법에 따라 연령과 성별, 그리고 거주지역을 고려하여 실험군과 대조군을 1:1 동수로 매칭하였고, 두 코호트 집단간 2년 동안 치매로 이환된 비율을 비교하였다. 결과: 실험군과 대조군을 비교했을 때, 실험군인 양측 또는 편측 완전 무치악 환자에서 치매 발병률(12.13%)은 대조군인 유치악 환자의 치매 발병률(9.74%) 보다 유의미하게 높다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다 (P < .05). 다른 요인들과 치매와의 명확한 관련성은 확인되지 않았다. 결론: 대규모 인구집단데이터 분석을 통해 양측 또는 편측 완전 무치악 환자에서 치매 발병률이 높다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. Purpose: To investigate the relationship between dementia and complete tooth loss on both sides or one side using large demographic data. Materials and methods: A retrospective cohort study was designed using the National Health Insurance Service-Elderly Cohort Database (NHIS-ECD) which was established for people over the age of 60. The experimental group was the complete edentulous cohort, which had a history of treatment for national health insurance covered complete denture on both sides or one side from July 1, 2012 to December 31, 2013. And the control group was the dentulous cohort, which had a history of conservative dental treatment for the same period. All subjects had no history of diagnosis or treatment of dementia during this time. These cohorts were matched 1:1 by age, gender, and place of residence according to the propensity score matching method. Then the incidence of dementia was compared between these cohorts. Results: Compared with those groups, the incidence of dementia was significantly higher in the experimental group (12.13%) than in the control group (9.74%) (P<.05). No clear association between other factors has been identified. Conclusion: The analysis of large-scale demographic data shows that the incidence of dementia is high in complete edentulous patients on both sides or one side.

Please This paper presents method of video stabilization based on detection and adaptive motion smoothing filtering of undesirable motion. The proposed algorithm consists of two stages: the detection of undesirable motion and smoothing filtering of detected undesired motion. To incorporate desired properties into the motion smoothing process, the local maximum and the local minimum are defined in a set composed of the parameters of accumulative global motion. Using the local information, the constraints on detecting undesirable motions are defined. Based on these constraints, the alpha parameter of the alpha-trimmed means filter is adjusted, so that the degree of motion smoothing in the reconstructed video sequence is controlled. The experimental results demonstrated the capability of the proposed algorithm. 본 논문은 비의도 움직임 검출 및 적응적 움직임 완화 필터를 이용한 동영상 안정화 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 비의도 움직임 검출 단계와 검출된 비의도 움직임을 완화 필터링하는 단계로 구성된다. 움직임 완화 과정에 요구되는 속성들을 활용하기 위하여 누적 전역 움직임 매개변수들로 구성된 집합의 국부 최대값과 국부 최소값을 정의한다. 국부 정보를 사용하여 비의도 움직임 검출에 필요한 제약조건을 정의하며, 제약조건들을 기반으로 하여 알파-조정 평균 필터의 알파 값을 결정하여 재구성된 동영상의 움직임 완화 정도를 제어한다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안된 방식의 성능 우수성을 입증하였다.

In this paper, we propose the robust video signature using log-polar mapping method. To guarantee the similarity between original video contents and modified video contents, we develop the contents region extraction method which uses log-polar transformed video frame images. Contents region is the region where important information is contained. Experimental results showed that the proposed video signature has good robustness and uniqueness, which are the two essential properties of video signatures.

The low-temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) is a crucial factor in the development of space-grade resistors for temperature stability. Consequently, extensive research is underway to achieve zero TCR. In this study, resistors were deposited by co-sputtering nickel-chromium-based composite compositions, metals showing positive TCR, with SiO<sub>2</sub>, introducing negative TCR components. It was observed that achieving zero TCR is feasible by adjusting the proportion of negative TCR components in the deposited thin film resistors within certain compositions. Additionally, the correlation between TCR and deposition conditions, such as sputtering power, Ar pressure, and surface roughness, was investigated. We anticipate that these findings will contribute to the study of resistors with very low TCR, thereby enhancing the reliability of space-level resistors operating under high temperatures.
