        3인 게임 모형을 이용한 미국의 확장억제 신뢰성 분석

        본 연구의 목적은 미국의 한반도 확장억제의 신뢰성을 게임이론을 적용하여 논리적으로 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 도전국, 보호국, 피보호국 3개 국가로 구성된 확장억제 3인 게임 모형을 한반도 핵 위기 상황에 대입하여 북한을 도전국, 미국을 보호국, 한국을 피보호국으로 하는 게임 모형을 구성하였다. 국제관계의 불확실성을 고려하여 경기자가 상대방의 유형 및 행동을 알지 못하는 미비정보 하에서 균형을 분석하였으며, 특히 확장억제의 신뢰성 분석을 위해 한국과 미국의 동맹 신뢰 유형을 서로 알지 못하는 미비정보로 하였다. 연구모형 분석 결과 한국과 미국이 동맹 신뢰 유형일 확률인 pS와 pU가 특정 조건을 충족하는 경우 억제1 및 억제2, 한국 공격1 및 한국 공격2의 4가지 균형이 존재할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 재래식 전력 강화 및 핵잠재력의 보유, 미국의 전략자산 전개 및 핵 공유 방안 추진 등이 확장억제력 강화에 도움이 될 수 있다는 시사점을 도출하였다.

        Three-Dimensional Approaches in Histopathological Tissue Clearing System

        Three-dimensional microscopic approaches in histopathology display multiplex properties that present puzzling questions for specimens as related to their comprehensive volumetric information. This information includes spatial distribution of molecules, three-dimensional co-localization, structural formation and whole data set that cannot be determined by two-dimensional section slides due to the inevitable loss of spatial information. Advancement of optical instruments such as two-photon microscopy and high performance objectives with motorized correction collars have narrowed the gap between optical theories and the actual reality of deep tissue imaging. However, the benefits gained by a prolonged working distance, two-photon laser and optimized beam alignment are inevitably diminished because of the light scattering phenomenon that is deeply related to the refractive index mismatch between each cellular component and the surrounding medium. From the first approaches with simple crude refractive index matching techniques to the recent cutting-edge integrated tissue clearing methods, an achievement of transparency without morphological denaturation and eradication of natural and fixation-induced nonspecific autofluorescence out of real signal are key factors to determine the perfection of tissue clearing and the immunofluorescent staining for high contrast images. When performing integrated laboratory workflow of tissue for processing frozen and formalin-fixed tissues, clear lipid-exchanged acrylamide-hybridized rigid imaging/immunostaining/in situ hybridization-compatible tissue hydrogel (CLARITY), an equipment-based tissue clearing method, is compatible with routine procedures in a histopathology laboratory.

        A Lab-Made Wound Maker for Analysis of Cell Migration in a 96-Well Plate

        Cell migration is a central process for recovering from wounds triggered by physical distress besides embryogenesis and cancer metastasis. Wound healing assay is widely used as a fundamental research technique for investigation of two-dimensional cell migration in vitro. The most common approach for imitating physical wound in vitro is mechanical scratching on the surface of the confluent monolayer by using sharp materials. The iron metal pin with a suspension spring for fine adjustment of the orthogonal contact surface between the scratching point and the individual bottom of multi-well plate with planar curvatures were adopted for the creative invention of a 96-well plate wound maker. While classic tips drew diverse and zigzag scratching patterns on the confluent monolayer, our wound maker displayed synchronized linear wounds in the middle of each well of a 96-well plate that was seeded with several cell lines. Given that several types of multi-well plates commercially available are compatible with our lab-made wound maker for creating uniform scratches on the confluent monolayer for the collective cell migration in wound healing assay, it is certain that the application of this wound maker to the real-time wound healing assay in high content screening (HCS) is superior than utilization of typical polypropylene pipette tips.

        Can Hinokitiol Kill Cancer Cells? Alternative Therapeutic Anticancer Agent via Autophagy and Apoptosis

        Cancer is genetically, metabolically and infectiously induced life threatening disorder showing aggressive growing pattern with invasive tendency. In order to prevent this global menace from jeopardizing human life, enormous studies on carcinogenesis and treatment for chemotherapy resistance have been intensively researched. Hinokitiol (${\beta}$-thujaplicin) extracted from heart wood of cupressaceous is a well-known bioactive compound demonstrating anti-inflammation, anti-bacteria and anti-cancer effects on several cancer types via apoptosis and autophagy. This study proposed that hinokitiol activates transcription factor EB (TFEB) nuclear translocation for autophagy and lysosomal biogenesis regardless of nutrient condition in cancer cells. Mitophagy and ${\beta}$-catenin translocation into the nucleus under treatment of hinokitiol on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells and HeLa cells were investigated. Hinokitiol exerted cytotoxicity on HeLa and HCC827 cells; moreover, artificially induced autophagy by overexpression of TFEB granted imperfect sustainability onto HeLa cells. Taken together, hinokitiol is the prominent autophagy inducer and activator of TFEB nuclear translocation. Alternative cancer therapy via autophagy is pros and cons since the autophagy in cancer cells is related to prevention and survival mechanism depending on nutrition. To avoid paradox of autophagy in cancer therapy, fine-tuned regulation and application of hinokitiol in due course for successful suppressing cancer cells are recommended.

        Clinical Microscopy: Performance, Maintenance and Laser Safety

        A microscope is the fundamental research and diagnostic apparatus for clinical investigation of signaling transduction, morphological changes and physiological tracking of cells and intact tissues from patients in the biomedical laboratory science. Proper use, care and maintenance of microscope with comprehensive understanding in mechanism are fully requested for reliable image data and accurate interpretation for diagnosis in the clinical laboratory. The standard operating procedure (SOP) for light microscopes includes performance procedure, brief information of all mechanical parts of microscopes with systematic troubleshooting mechanism depending on the laboratory capacity. Maintenance program encompasses cleaning objective, ocular lenses and inner optics; replacement and calibration of light source; XY sample stage management; point spread function (PSF) measurement for confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM); quality control (QC) program in fluorescent microscopy; and systematic troubleshooting. Laser safety is one of the concern for medical technologists engaged in CLSM laboratory. Laser safety guideline based on the laser classification and risk level, and advisory lab wear for CLSM users are also expatiated in this overview. Since acquired image data presents a wide range of information at the moment of acquisition, well-maintained microscopes with proper microscopic maintenance program are impulsive for its interpretation and diagnosis in the clinical laboratory.

        군 장병의 보안 스트레스 관리방안

        군 부대 및 기관에서 근무하는 장병은 국가안보와 관련된 민감정보 및 기밀을 다루는 업무의 특성상 엄격한 보안정책 및 기술을 적용받고 있어 보안 스트레스를 겪게 될 가능성이 크다. 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 군 장병의 보안 스트레스를 관리할 필요성을 인식하고, 관리방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 보안 스트레스를 다룬 한국학술지인용색인(KCI) 등재 및 등재후보지 12편을 대상으로 문헌 연구를 실시하였다. 보안 스트레스를 다룬 연구는 2016년 이후부터 주로 설문조사를 활용한 통계적 분석기법을 적용하여 이루어졌으며, 크게 보안 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인, 보안 스트레스와 보안준수 의도의 관계, 보안 스트레스를 완화하는 요인을 다룬 연구로 구분되었다. 특히 조직공정성, 조직 차원의 기술 지원, 보안 피드백 등의 요인이 보안 스트레스를 완화할 수 있다는 점이 확인되었다. 다음으로 이와 같은 문헌 연구 결과를 국방보안환경에 적용함으로써 군 장병의 보안 스트레스 관리방안으로 보안 관련 공정성 인식 향상, 기술 지원 및 보안 피드백의 측면에서 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 우리는 군 장병 보안 스트레스의 관리 필요성을 인식하고, 이와 관련된 실무적인 방안을 검토하였다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다. Soldiers serving in military units and institutions are subject to strict security policies and technologies because they handle sensitive and confidential information related to national security, so they are likely to experience security stress. The purpose of this study is to recognize the need to manage the security stress of military personnel and to suggest management measures. To this end, a literature study was conducted on 12 KCI(Korean Journal Citation Index) journals dealing with security stress. Since 2016, research on security stress has been conducted mainly through empirical analysis through surveys. Studies related to security stress were divided into studies dealing with factors that affect stress, the relationship between security stress and security compliance intentions, and factors that reduce security stress. In particular, it was confirmed that factors such as organizational justice, organizational technical support, and security feedback can alleviate security stress. Next, by applying the results of this literature study to the defense security environment, we presented security stress management measures for military personnel in terms of improving security-related organizational justice awareness, technical support, and security feedback. The significance of this study is that we recognized the need to manage military personnel's security stress and reviewed practical measures related to this.

        군 장교의 처벌에 대한 지각과 국방보안 준수 의도의 관계 : 보안 감수성의 조절효과 분석

        The purpose of this study is to verify the moderating effect of security sensitivity on the relationship between military officer’s perception of punishment and defense security compliance intention. To this end, a research model was established. The research model was analyzed based on the survey results of 208 military officers. The results are as follows. First, the perceived punishment had a significant positive(+) effect on the defense security compliance intention. Second, as a result of moderated regression analysis, awareness and knowledge among security sensitivity were confirmed to have a moderating effect on the relationship between perceived punishment and defense security compliance intention, but the moderating effect of motivation was not identified. Based on these research results, measures to improve the level of defense security, implications and limitations of the study were presented.
