The purpose of this study is to 1) understand the environmental condition (e.g., availability of equipment and public facilities) on actual leisure/recreational activities in Korean society, given recreation programs (for elderly people-centered programs), financial support from government, and elderly people`s perception about leisure/recreation programs based on leisure/recreation-related policy of which is one of Korean social welfare policies, and then 2) to provide several suggestions in the improvement of leisure/recreation policy once we analyzed problems. The first suggestion on the policy about leisure/recreation for elderly people is that more facilities (e.g., accessibility and availability of public facilities) should be provided. Secondly, newly modified and improved leisure/recreation programs which are enjoyable and appropriate to old adults should be in the process provided with varieties. As the third key, the institutional support from government to foster professionals/leader who can expertly lead elderly people physically, psychologically, and socially to get more active should be required in near future. For fourth, extending the national budget for leisure/recreation project for elderly people. Finally, the fifth step to transforming the elderly people`s negative perception into positive one about the current policy is that government should fuel the fire to motivate elderly people actively to participate in leisure/recreational programs, socially to enjoy their activities, and consistently to maintain their recreational program participation. To do so, the understanding of actual leisure/recreation programs providing in present and the establishment of well-organized plans about improving the policy for elderly people will be inevitable.

The popularization of computer, especially the development of internet, have given much benefits to us. But this has also been can bring much problem to us. In case of adolescents, there are lack of opportunities because of social environment of the entrance examination. Therefore, in Korea, there is a lack of leisure & recreation programs and space for them. So, they enjoy computer, especially internet, for leisure & recreation. But, there are effects caused by misusing internet. So, many social problems arise. The problems are cracking out, computer viruses, computer poisoning, computer prostitution, cyber-sexual violence, and so on. As follows, we should applicate leisure & recreation to prevent social problems caused by misusing internet. The following are affirmative effects that leisure & recreation will offer them. First, leisure & recreation activities off-line will help them to retrieve creativity and humanity. Second, sound and creative leisure & recreation activity will play a living tonic. Third, leisure & recreation activity of adolescents will promote health of them.

주 5일 근무제에 따른 여가의 전망과 대책

It seems to be a global trend to administer weekly 5-day working system and legal working hours shortening in order to create the will to work and vital power, which might be lost as a result of long time work. Also in Korea, in the aspect of preserving worker`s health and accelerating a transition to digital economy system, it was thought to be good to introduce weekly 5-day working system positively. It seems that weekly 5-day working system should result in the increase of leisure. However it may be, there are many problems caused by both before and after putting in force the law. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the merits and demerits of weekly 5-day working system so as to help to prepare the system efficiently. The results obtained from the study are as follows : First, the current holiday/vacation system should be improved prior to enforcing weekly 5-day working system in due to consideration of the country`s hard economy. Second, it should be recommended that weekly 5-day working system and weekly 5-day school system be put in force at the same time. Third, in preparation for increasing leisure, not only individuals also the Government, the academic world, enterprises, and social companies should make an effort so as to establish systematic leisure and wellness programs. Fourth, to save foreign money wasted by a native travelling outside the country and make foreign money from foreign tourists travelling within the country, the local government as well as leisure & sight-seeing related companies should prepare by making every effort to induce both native and foreign tourists to visit the domestic sights. Finally, through the training of leaders who find the problems of poisoning of leisure, lead the clients to enjoy it properly, and help to fix healthy leisure culture.

The purpose of this research is groping for the role of leisure? recreation for building personality which is consistent with sensitivity and reason harmoniously after looking around the importance of sensitivity in modern society. The sensitivity society means that the society is constituted by two important natures (sensitivity and reason) of human, while the real society enforce to reason immoderately. The relationship of reason and sensitivity is not mutual exclusive or subordinate. We would rather say that they are a mutual cooperate relationship because the sensitivity plays a important role in inference and deciding an idea, i.e. rational contemplation. The many problems in real society are aroused by emphasizing on only reason in the natures of human. So, we can say that the leisure? recreation for building personality which is consisted of the reason and sensitivity harmoniously is demanded. As a specific method, we have to build the following capabilities through the leisure education and recreation, ㆍSelf-awareness & Self-management ㆍSelf-motivating ㆍSocial skill based on empathy In my opinion, rearing sensitivity an4 reason through leisure? recreation is a very important trial for recovering personality and completing the education for the whole man which is ultimate purpose of education.

중학생들의 여가활동 참여실태 및 여가 제약

The purpose of this study is to examine Present condition of the middle school students` participation in leisure activity and to identify constraining factors to participate in leisure activity them. Subjects of this study is 280 from 8 middle school in Seoul by Stratified cluster random sampling method. Questionnaire was used to examine Present condition of the middle school students` participation in leisure activity and to identify constraining factors to participate in leisure activity. Statistical techniques for data analysis is Frequency, Chi-square(x^2) and Means method. The researcher concluded as follows. First, In gender variable, male more participate in sport area for leisure activity and female more participate in taste & culture area for leisure activity. But all of them want to participate in sports area for leisure activity. Second, in grade, first and second grade more participate in sports area for leisure activity and third grade more participate in taste & culture area for leisure activity. But all of them want to participate in sports area for leisure activity. Third, in male, most constraining factors to participate in leisure activity is study & work, and in female, most constraining factors to participate in leisure activity is difficulty of choice that they will participate in what kinds of leisure activity. Fourth, in first and second grade, most constraining factors to participate in leisure activity is difficulty of choice that they will participate in what kinds of leisure activity, and in third grade, most constraining factors to participate in leisure activity is leisure activity fee.

Today’s sports field seems to target only at satisfaction of victory by triumphalism rather than mental and personal appearance. The triumph of sports bring us joy, satisfaction, and happiness. It would be evern better if mental, personal, moral, and ethical maturity are added up at the same time. However, unethical and immoral acts are increasing day by day. Drug abuse, violence, cheating, match-fixing, bad call, foul, embezzlement, and gamble are prevalent as day went by. To prevent these situations, moral and ethical education and system should be prepared. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to recognize the necessity of sports ethics and morality, and to disxuss about the countermeasures, roles, and solutions. The sports field is a mirror of our society. Our society will become sound if sports field is progressed more ethically and morally.

In the 21st century, there should be changes on the development according to the policy of Korean recreation. To open the new stage for the history of Korean culture, we need to do the following policies of leisure and recreation. 1. There should be new attitudes toward leisure and recreation. 2. To youth, we need to develop new programs of recreation. 3. There should be a positive recreation policy in the place of work. 4. There should be an active recreation policy in the rural communities. 5. With implementation of the local self-government, we need to develop new recreational programs for local residents. 6. The leader of leisure and recreation must be brought up in the adequate educational systems. 7. We need to maximize the using of the green areas. 8. Each universities must play a major role in the professional education of recreation.
