Abdominal cystic lymphangiomas arising from the mesentery, omentum and retroperitoneum are rare and occasionally confused with other cause of acute abdomen. Sixteen children who underwent surgery for abdominal cystic lymphangioma between 1984 and 2005 at the Division of Pediatric Surgery, Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center were evaluated retrospectively. There were 9 boys and 7 girls. Age ranged from 12 days to 13 years (mean age: 4.7years). The cysts were located in the omentum (4 cases),mesentery (9 cases: jejunum: 3, colon: 6). retroperitoneum (2 cases) and pelvic cavity (one case). The cyst content was hemorrhagic (8 cases), serous (5 cases), and inflammatory (2 cases), and chyle (one). Prenatal diagnosis was made in 3. The clinical features were variable, but abdominal pain, mass, and abdominal distention in order. There were 3 emergency operations in patients with complicated cyst, who were suspected of having panperitonitis and volvulus preoperatively. Complete excision was accomplished in all cases. There was one mortalityin a newborn with E.coli sepsis. Intestinal obstruction developed in 2 cases in long-term follow-up. No recurrence was observed. Although intraabdominal lymphangioma arising from mesentery, omentum and retroperitoneum are rare, it should be considered as a possible cause of acute abdomen.

The effects of blast furnace slag, hwang-toh, and reinforcing fiber on the physical and mechanical properties of porous concrete using blast furnace slag coarse aggregates have been evaluated in this study. The effect of the depending on replacement ratio of blast furnace slag to cement was investigated such that the replacement ratio was varied to 0 %, 25 % and 50 %. Also, the replacement ratios of hwang-toh were 0, 20 and 30 %. The polyvinyl alcohol fiber was used for the reinforcing fiber. A series of pH, unit mass, and void ratio tests have been performed to study the physical properties of the porous concrete using blast furnace slag coarse aggregates with the polyvinyl alcohol fiber and the replacement ratios of blast furnace slag, hwang-toh, while a series of compressive tests have been performed to evaluate the strength property depending on polyvinyl alcohol fiber and the replacement ratios of blast furnace slag, hwang-toh. The test results indicated that the physical and mechanical properties of porous concrete using blast furnace slag coarse aggregates is affected by the replacement ratio of blast furnace slag, and the fiber contents. According to the tests with polyvinyl alcohol fiber contents, the void ratio was decreased and the compressive strength was upgraded.

최근 경제 불황은 미국 경제에 커다란 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만, 이러한 경제 불황이 병원의 자산 투자에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지는 연구가 되지 않았다. 따라서, 이 연구는 병원 고정 자산의 구조를 경제 불황의 전, 후로 비교 분석 하고자 한다. 이 연구는 2006부터 2010까지 5년간의 미국 텍사스 병원 데이터를 사용했다. 이 연구는 2008년의 미국 경제 불황에도 불구하고, 병원들은 고정 자산 투자를 늘린 것을 발견했고, 영리 병원과 비영리 병원간에 고정 자산의 투자 변화가 다르다는 것도 발견했다. 예를 들면, 비영리 병원은 경제 불황에도 불구하고 고정 자산을 늘린 반면, 영리 병원은 고정 자산 투자에 변화가 없었다. The recent financial crises affected the US economy. However, how this financial crisis affected the asset investment trend in hospitals has not draw much attention from researchers. This study describes and analyzes the fixed asset investment structure across hospital ownership two years before and after a financial crisis using Texas hospitals data from 2006 to 2010. The finding shows that Hospitals increased fixed asset investment after financial depression in 2008. Also, we found that hospitals’ asset investment differs significantly by hospital ownership. Not-for-profit and government hospitals increased fixed assets after the financial crisis, while for-profit hospitals did not change their asset investment plan responding to financial crisis.

This study aims to suggest user centered bike road routes for daily commuting purpose in Seoul Korea. Bike commuting, as one of outstanding bike ride activities in everyday life, is expected to present realistic bike use. Since previous literature mostly focused on traffic laws, bike lanes` technical length, and bike riders` stats, most researches have limitations in increasing actual bike use. Believing that user centered bike roads are the most important factors in bike ride, this study intends to present optimal bike road routes for urban commuting in Seoul. Finding and suggesting appropriate bike routes in transportation networks is composed of two parts. The first was to find population and employment clusters for the 30-40 years old. Large population clusters represent potentials of large bike commuting population. For this procedure, spatial scan statistics was utilized to find population clusters. The second was to provide optimal bike road routes in the city given several urban demographical needs and infra structures. In the analysis procedure, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied to reflect public needs for bike routes. The result presents that Eunpyeong-gu and Nowon-gu were chosen as population clusters, and Chongro-gu and Gangnam-gu as employment clusters. Consequently, 4 potential and optimal bike routes for urban commuting were presented.
