        본 연구에서는 Nayfeh등과 이원경과 소강영은 조화가진하의 핀과 꺽쇠로 고정 된 보(hinged-clamped beam)의 강제 진동 해석을 통하여 점근적으로 안정한 정상상태 응답이 둘 이상 존재할 수 있음을 알게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 이 경우에 접근적으 로 안정한두 정상상태 응답을 구하고 이들 안정한 해로 각각 흡인되는 초기조건들의 집합인 흡인영역을 보간사상법(interpolated mapping method)과 직접 수치적분에 의해 구한 후 서로 비교하였다. A nonlinear dissipative dynamical system can often have multiple attractors. In this case, it is important to study the global behavior of the system by determining the global domain of attraction of each attractor. In this paper we study the global behavior of a forced beam with two mode interaction. The governing equation of motion is reduced to two second-order nonlinear nonautonomous ordinary differential equations. When .omega. /=3.omega.$_{1}$ and .ohm.=.omega $_{1}$, the system can have two asymptotically stable steady-state periodic solutions, where .omega./ sub 1/, .omega.$_{2}$ and .ohm. denote natural frequencies of the first and second modes and the excitation frequency, respectively. Both solutions have the same period as the excitation period. Therefore each of them shows up as a period-1 solution in Poincare map. We show how interpolated mapping method can be used to determine the two four-dimensional domains of attraction of the two solutions in a very effective way. The results are compared with the ones obtained by direct numerical integration.

        Objective: To investigate the influence of the swallowing posture and liquid thickness on the easiness of pill swallowing in healthy adults. Method: The subjects were 12 healthy young group (19-40 years) and 10 elderly group (65- years). Each subject was examined under videofluoroscopy while swallowing barium-containing placebo pills with six different methods: free fluid with neutral (FN), chin down (FD), chin up (FU), head rotated to left (FL), head rotated to right postures (FR), and thickened fluid with neutral posture (TN). The subjects rated their ease of pill swallowing on a 5-point Likert scale. Time variables were evaluated from the videofluoroscopy images. Result: FD, FU and FL were rated significantly less comfortable than FN for pill swallowing. Duration from the start signal to the mandible angle and to laryngeal elevation was significantly prolonged with FD and FL compared to FN. Duration from the start signal to the upper esophageal sphincter was significantly prolonged with FD compared to FN. There were no significant differences on either easiness of swallowing or the time variables between FN and TN. Duration from the start signal to the mandible angle and to the upper esophageal sphincter was significantly longer in the elderly group than the young group with all swallowing methods except FU. In the elderly group, duration from the start signal to laryngeal elevation was significantly shorter with FU than FN. Conclusion: Chin down posture is uncomfortable and prolong swallowing time during pill swallowing. In the neutral posture, pill swallowing with thickened fluid is comparable to that with free fluid. Chin up posture may shorten pill swallowing time in elderly.

        Presynaptic Dysfunction by Familial Factors in Parkinson Disease

        Parkinson disease (PD) is the second most prevalent neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer disease. The loss of specific brain area, the substantia nigra pars compacta is known as a major etiology, however it is not fully understood how this neurodegeneration is initiated and what precisely causes this disease. As one aspect of pathophysiology for PD, synaptic dysfunction (synaptopathy) is thought to be an earlier appearance for neurodegeneration. In addition, some of the familial factors cumulatively exhibit that these factors such as α-synuclein, leucine-rich repeat kinase 2, parkin, PTEN-induced kinase 1, and DJ-1 are involved in the regulation of synaptic function and missense mutants of familial factors found in PD-patient show dysregulation of synaptic functions. In this review, we have discussed the physiological function of these genetic factors in presynaptic terminal and how dysregulation of presynaptic function by genetic factors might be related to the pathogenesis of Parkinson disease.

        위전절제술 후 변형된 위장관 구조를 가진 환자에서 소장내시경을 이용한 총담관 담석 제거

        Billroth II 또는 루앵Y (Roux-en-Y) 연결 등의 수술을 받은 환자의 경우 변형된 해부학 구조 때 문에 유두부 진입이 쉽지 않아 역행성 담췌관 조영술의 성공률이 낮고, 합병증 발생률이 높 다. 이 런 환자에서 성인용 또는 소아용 대장내시경, 캡을 장착한 직시경, 또는 소장내시경을 이용 한 방 법들이 시도되고 있다. 최근에 많이 보고되고 있는 소장내시경을 이용한 방법은 비교적 높은 유두 부 삽입 성공률과 시술 성공률을 보이나, 긴 부속기구가 필요하다는 단점이 있고, 이 때문 에 "짧 은" 이중풍선 소장내시경을 이용하는 방법도 이용되고 있다. 저자들은 단일풍선 소장내시경 과 overtube를 이용하여 유두부에 도달한 후 직시경으로 바꾸어 ERCP를 시행하여 총담관 담석 을 성공적으로 제거한 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is often unsuccessful in patients with surgically altered gastrointestinal anatomy such as total gastrectony with Roux-en-Y anastomosis because of the long length of afferent limb that makes it difficult to reach the major papilla. In such cases, alternative approaches, using adult or pediatric colonoscopies or conventional forward-viewing upper endoscopy with transparent cap, have been challenged. Recently, methods using double- balloon or single-balloon enteroscopies have been reported. However, these methods can be used limitedly as long length ERCP accessories are not commercially available. We here report a case of successful common bile duct stone removal by single-balloon enteroscopy (SBE)-assisted ERCP with an overtube-assisted technique in patients with surgically altered Roux-en-Y anatomy. Compared with others, conventional length of accessories can be used for therapeutic ERCP in this method. SBE-assisted ERCP with an overtube-assisted technique can be useful salvage technique in patients with surgically altered gastrointestinal anatomy.

      • 푸리에공간에서 위상정보를 이용한 패턴인식과 그 응용에 관한 연구

        This thesis studies on the pattern recognition algorithms in Fourier domain and proposes two improved methods. Three methods are studied on and the performances of them are compared and applied to the pattern recognition of printed numbers in the car-licence plate, and two improved methods are proposed in this application field. The first method which uses the correlation in Fourier domain, and the second method uses only the central part of correlation-images, and the third, phase-only-correlation method, uses only the phase of images. The conventional method which uses the correlation as it is shows the low performance, the proposed method adopted the algorithm which uses the central part only in the correlation-images. In particular, the performance of this method can be improved by applying the algorithm to the black and white images after preprocessing. As well as this method, for the phase-only-correlation method, the performance of recognition can be increased by multiplying an appropriate constant to the amplitude before inverse Fourier transformation. The phase-only-correlation method recognizes the patterns by the magnitude of peak which appears at the center of the image which is obtained by inverse Fourier transformation of the correlation images which consists of phases only. Two methods also shows the high performance in the recognition of numbers which includes noises. In the experimentaion, 10 standard images and 10 number-images in the car-licence plate are used. The black-and-white images from the images and the images with Gaussian noises are also used. The experimental results show the proposed methods are very valid to the recognition of numbers in car-licence plate and they shows higher performance for black-and-white images.

      • 영어 여격구문의 통사적 측면 연구

        In this study, various syntactic properties of dative constructions in English are analyzed in order to examine what the proper dative structure is. Two possible syntactic structures of dative constructions are hypothesized: binary and ternary branching. After reviewing two general approaches, this study provides a model of the binary branching construction which is effective in language acquisition from learn ability perspective. According to this view, both children and adult speakers are led by a general tendency to choose a reduced from over an expanded form. This proposal is also supported by simplicity and economic point of view. Chomsky proposes an alternative analysis of dative structures, one that attributes asymmetry among complements to a source of other than PP structure. According to Chomsky, dative sentence is actually derived from structure of the form by extraposition of the PP to indirect object. In dative sentence, the direct object is in fact an "inner object" forming a constituent with the verb that excludes the surface direct object. Here, there is an underlying asymmetry between dative verb complements. The indirct object which is the recipient in the paper, is in the structural domain of the dirct object which is the theme in this paper, but not conversely. Actually, Chomsky's proposal has double case assigners, one is structural case assigner, the other is inherent case assigner. Essentially, the present proposal is adequate to have unique case assigner structurally, when the theme c-commands the recipient or the benefactive asymmetrically in dative constructions. Two possible theories of this dative alternation are examined: the first theory is that two forms are base-generated, and the other theory is that one of these structure is base-generated and the other is derived by transformations.

        An investigation into the modal interaction of an autoparameteric systemunder broad-band random excitation is made. The specific system examined is a spring-pendulum system with internal resonance, which is known to be a good model for a variety of engineering systems, including ship motions with nonlinear coupling between pitching and rolling motions. By means of the Gaussian closure method the dynamic moment equations explaining the random responses of the system are reduced to a system of autonomous ordinanary differential equations of the first and second moments. In view of equilibrium solutions of this system and their stability we examine the system responses. The stabilizing effect of system damping is also examined.
