In present, prevention and early detection of the disease are the most important and effective strategies for human health. Stomach cancer respectively produce a aceton odor and ammonia odor. Accordingly, quantitative and qualitative analysis of odor can be a effective means for early diagnosis and detection of diseases. To get a reliable electronic nose system, the sensor array consisted of conducting polymer materials as the base material, which were synthesized by chemical and electrochemical polymerization method using monomer(pyrrole, aniline, thiophene) and some dopants on a substrate with comb type electrode. They have good selectivity and sensitivity for various odorss. The microstructure of sensing materials was analyzed using UV-Vis-NIR and SPM. Each sensor has been characterized by electrical measurements for odors in a various concentration range.

The SnO₂/Al₂O₃/Nb₂O_5 thick film devices added SiO₂ were fabricated by dipping, sputtering and addition of powder, respectively. The products of CH₃CN vapor by the oxidation reaction on the thick film devices were CO₂, H₂O, N₂O and nitric acid complex(NO_x and H₂O). From these products, the adsorbed species were thought to be CO, O-H and NO_x. The thick film s added SiO₂ showed the negative sensitivity to CH₃CN vapor by oxidizing agents(NO_x). The devices fabricated by dipping of (G₂H_5O)₄Si solution showed high sensitivity and selectivity to CH₃CN vapor. Optimum added amounts of Nb₂O_5 and operating temperature were 1.0 wt% and 300℃, respectively.

대기환경가스 중 CO_2 및 SO_x 를 감지·정량할 수 있는 고체전해질 소자의 제조공정을 개발하고 그 가스 감응 특성을 조사하였다. CO_2 가스감지소자의 감지체로는 Na_3PO_4 와 ZrSiO_4 분말을 혼합하여 이를 열처리하여 얻은 NASICON 을 이용하였으며 선택성 부전극으로서 알칼리 금속계 탄산염의 막을 이용하였다. NASICON CO_2 감지소자는 0 ∼ 3000 ppm 의 CO_2 가스농도영역에서 우수한 감도를 나타내었으며 습도에 의한 영향을 최소화하였다. Na 이온전도체인 NASICON 은 전술한 분말합성법 이외에 sol-gel 법에 의해서도 합성하였으며 두가지 경우의 이온전도체에 대한 특성을 비교하였다. SO_x 감지소자의 감지모체로는 건식법에 의해 합성한 NASICON 을 이용하였으며 알칼리금속계 황산염을 부전극으로 사용하였다. 여러가지 열처리조건에 따른 재료공학적 특성을 비교하고 SO_x 에 대한 감지 응답 특성을 조사하였다. The purpose of this study is to develop the solid electrolyte sensors to detect CO_2 and SO_x as the principal air pollutants. To fabricate CO_2 and SO_x sensors, use synthesized NASICON powder (Na ion super conductor) by two different methods, dry and wet chemical methods. The NASICON powder by dry method was prepared by using the mixture of Na_3PO_4 and ZrSiO_4 And NASICON by wet chemical method was abtained by mixing the solution of several alkoxides (tetraethoxysilane, sodium ethylate, zirconium n-propoxide and tributyl phosphate). The NASICON cells prepared showed very good sensitivity to CO_2 gas. The correlations between emf and CO_2 concentration at various temperatures between 300 and 500 ℃ were abtained. The linearity observed at each temperature showed that the correlation follows a Nernst equation in the test range of 300 ∼ 3000 ppm CO_2 quite well. The observed Nernst slope of 77 ㎷/decade at the cell temperature of 500 ℃ coincided with pretty well with the theoretical value. From the correlations between emf and SO_2 concentration at various temperatures between 400 and 550 ℃, the observed linearity at each temperature also showed good agreement with Nernst equation in the test range of 5 ∼ 90 ppm SO_2. The change in emf value for the change in SO_2 concentration from 5 to 90 ppm was about 83 ㎷.
(Cu_(1-x) Ag_x)_2 Cd I_4 Thermistor의 製造 및 그 電氣的 特性

(Cu_1-xAg_x)_2 CdI_4 (0≤x≤1) thermistors were fabricated by sintering the mixture of CuI, AgI and CdI_2 at 250℃ for one hour. The electrical properties of (Cu_1-xAg_x)_2 CdI_4 complexes were also investigated. The x-dependent critical temperature for the thermistors was in the range of (30―65)℃. The sample for x=0.5 showed the highest resistance anomaly index, 3.5.
리티움 이온 전도체를 이용한 CO2 센서의 제조 및 그 특성

Carbon dioxide gas sensor, which has inner heater, was fabricated using Li ionic conductor as raw material which was synthesized by sol-gel method. It had either Au electrode or Pt electrode as the metal electrode of sensing electrode part, and carbonate mixture was used as sensing electrode material of low operating temperature about 250℃. Sensing characteristics to carbon dioxide gas, and interference to carbon monoxide gas and hydro carbon gases were investigated. The sensor using Au electrode showed the sensitivity of 25 ㎽/decade and the sensor using Pt electrode showed the sensitivity of 26 ㎽/decade for the variation of carbon dioxide gas concentration, respectively. The sensor using Au electrode showed good selectivity compared to that using Pt electrode for carbon monoxide gas and hydro carbon gases. From the above results, the CO₂ sensor with Au electrode is very useful to measuring the CO₂ concentration.
