시화ㆍ안산지역 유기화학계 사업장의 악취농도 측정과 TOER 산정

Malodors from 5 companies manufacturing organic chemicals in Siwa-Banwol industrial area were collected to measure the dilution factors and odor emission rates(OER) were calculated from each emission flow data. Observance of the current Korean offensive odor law for each emission sources were considered and some of emitted odors were confirmed to be over the odor limit. In oder to expect affecting distance of odors from each company, total emission rates (TOER) were calculated from sum of OERs of each company. As a result, company A showed the relatively low level of TOER, i.e. 104㎥/min and odors from A were confirmed to be rarely reachable to the nearest residential area. But TOERs of the companies, B, C, D and E were calculated to have about 105㎥/min and we could expect the residents within 1 ~ 2km from each company to be affected by malodors emitted from these companies. During the investigation of odor emissions, some of the facilities were under suspension and it would be necessary to take a longer investigation to expect the odor affection area more exactly. 시화ㆍ반월공단 중 5개 유기화학계 사업장의 배출구에서 악취시료를 채취하여 악취농도를 측정하고 가스 유량으로부터 악취배출속도(OER)를 산정하였다. 측정된 악취농도로부터 현행 규제기준에 대한 준법성 여부를 판정해보았으며 그 결과 몇 가지 배출구 악취의 경우 현행규제기준을 넘고 있는 곳도 있었다. 또한 각 사업장 내 배출구의 OER 합으로부터 각 사업장의 악취영향권을 간단히 예상하기 위해 TOER을 계산하였다. 그 결과 A사는 104㎥/min의 낮은 TOER를 나타내어 A사로 인한 악취 영향은 매우 미비할 것으로 예상되었다. 그러나 B, C, D, E 사업장의 경우 105㎥/min로 사업장에서 1 ~ 2km 이상의 거리에 있는 주거지의 경우 악취 영향이 미미할 것으로 예상되었다. 그리고 조사 당시 일부 사업장이 정상 가동하지 않아 각 사업장의 모든 배출구에서의 조사가 원활히 이루어지지 않았으며 정확한 예측을 위해서는 장기간에 걸친 조사가 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

Scale inhibition effect of the physical water treatment device that emits zinc cation in water was evaluated. The inhibition effect of scale formation was confirmed by the difference in precipitation amount of calcium carbonate prepared from calcium chloride and sodium carbonate solution with distilled or zinc ionized water. For measuring removal effect of solid calcium carbonate on the filter paper, the ground water passed through the ionizer or not was poured on the filter paper and the differences of weight loss of solid CaCO3 were observed. In the experiments for inhibition, the addition of zinc ion did not appear to change the amount of calcium carbonate precipitate. On the other hand, zinc ion leaving the filter clumped fine calcium carbonate particles to increase turbidity, and it was estimated that scale particles expected to have grown by zinc ions were discharged by water flow. Although the concentration of zinc ions from the ionization device is only tens of ㎍/L, the exposure of zinc ions for a long period of time was expected to slowly release the scale generated on the inside wall of the pipe.

simultaneous analysis of the odorous compounds designated by law in Korea and Japan was examined with the thermal desorber gas chromatography-mass spectrometry using one column. The approximate concentrations of trimethyl amine, acetaldehyde, methyl mercaptan and dimethyl sulfide were estimated. Styrene, dimethyl disulfide, propionaldehyde, n-butyl aldehyde, i-butyl aldehyde, n-valeraldehyde, i-valeraldehyde, ethyl acetate, toluene, xylene, methyl i-butyl ketone and i-butanol were detected at concentrations of the detection limits of their threshold values.
