        교회, 세상 속의 은혜의 수단 ― 포스트코로나 시대의 웨슬리안 교회론

        In the rapidly changing situation of the post-coronavirus era, how should the church understand its nature and function? We can understand the nature and function of the church only in its historical form. This study examines Wesley’s ecclesiology by exploring his Methodism which appeared in a historical form in the 18th century. Wesley’s ecclesiology was a combination of various traditions, and it changed over the course of his life. In the Church of England following the traditional Protestant ecclesiology, Wesley defined the nature of the church as ‘a congregation of faithful people’ and the actions of the church as ‘preaching the true Word of God and administering the Sacraments duly.’ However, Wesley was not confined within the framework of the Church of England but regarded the role and function of the church as important in saving and maturing the souls and further transforming the society. For Wesley, the church is the means of grace by which the grace, presence, or power of God can become more vital in the lives of individuals, in the fellowship of believers, in the society, and in the nation or the world. The church does not exist for itself, but for the salvation of the world. This ecclesiology is valid and useful even in the post-coronavirus era. 포스트 코로나 시대의 급변하는 정세 속에서 교회는 자신의 본질과 기능을어떻게 이해해야 할 것인가? 우리는 교회의 본질과 기능을 역사적 형태 안에서만 이해할 수 있다. 이 연구는 18세기에 역사적 형태로 등장한 메소디즘을 통해 웨슬리의 교회론을 탐구한다. 웨슬리의 교회론은 다양한 전통들의 혼합체였으며, 그의 생의 시기에 따라변화를 겪었다. 전통적인 개신교 교회론을 따르는 영국국교회 안에서 웨슬리는 교회의 본질을 ‘신자들의 회중’으로 그리고 교회가 하는 일을 ‘하나님의 참된 말씀을 설교하고 성례전을 적절하게 집전하는 것’으로 정의하였다. 하지만웨슬리는 영국국교회의 틀 속에 갇혀 있지 않고, 대중의 영혼을 구원하고 성숙하게 만들며 나아가 사회를 변혁시키는 교회의 역할과 기능을 중요하게 생각하였다. 즉, 그는 교회를 어떤 형태나 제도라기보다는 성서에 나타난 대로 하나의 활동 혹은 기능, 즉 세상 속에서의 선교로 보았다. 웨슬리에게 교회는 개인의 삶 속에, 신자들의 교제 가운데, 또한 사회와 나라 가운데, 그리고 온 세상 가운데 하나님의 은혜, 현존, 능력이 보다 더 체험될수 있도록 하기 위해 세워진 은혜의 수단이다. 교회는 교회 자신을 위해 존재하는 것이 아니라 세상의 구원을 위해 존재한다. 이러한 교회론은 포스트 코로나 시대에도 여전히 타당하고 유익하다.

        전통의 사람 존 웨슬리 -기독교 전통 안에서의 웨슬리 교회론 이해

        This study investigates John Wesley’s ecclesiology (or his understanding of church, ministry, and sacraments) in the Christian tradition. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, was a man of tradition. He inherited his rich legacy from various traditions, and the traditions were instrumental in shaping his ecclesiology. The major traditions on which he drew include primitivism, Anglicanism, Puritanism, and Pietism. He also, though not heavily, drew on the mystics of the Roman Catholicism and indirectly on the reformers. Primitive Christianity offered Wesley an ideal of the church and a model for his personal religious life and Methodist movement. The medieval mysticism, with its stress on inward religion and selfdiscipline, was influential upon Wesley, and its influence lasted throughout his life. Although there is no evidence of medieval Catholicism’s direct influence upon Wesley’s ecclesiology, the character of Wesley’s United Societies is akin to that of Tertiaries of medieval Catholicism in that they were both designed to be auxiliary to the parent body. Wesley drew certain themes such as sanctification and discipline from the reformers indirectly through the Anglican and Puritan traditions. The Anglican tradition was the initial influence upon and a lasting contribution to Wesley’s ecclesiology. Particularly the early Wesley was attached to the High-Church Anglican churchmanship and was enthusiastic to share in its sacramental life and to induce others to do the same. His High-Church Anglicanism, however, clashed with the evangelical conversion of 1738, and later was overshadowed by the combined influence of Puritanism and Pietism. From the Puritans Wesley drew an image of the Christian disciplined life and the instructions in its practice. Puritanism was also a main contributor to Wesley’s unorthodox churchmanship after he became a field preacher in 1739. From the Pietists Wesley learned the importance of the role and training of laity and was impressed by their discipline and enthusiasm for mission. The particular influence of the Pietists was most prominent in the creation and development of Methodist Church organization. Pietism also permanently influenced Wesley’s soteriology, in relation to which he established the character and validity of his ecclesiology. In a sense, Wesley’s ecclesiology was an amalgam of the multiple traditions that he inherited and sought to appropriate in a creative eclecticism. Investigating the historical sources which assisted Wesley in shaping his ecclesiology, this study examines Wesley’s doctrine of church as a whole in relation to the concept of salvation, since soteriology took the central place in his understanding of church. Wesley, with his highly developed sense of mission, shaped and developed his evangelical, functional understanding of church, responding to the spiritual needs of the people he sought to serve.

        Enhancement of Gene Delivery to Cancer Cells by a Retargeted Adenovirus

        The inefficiency of in vivo gene transfer using currently available vectors reflects a major hurdle in cancer gene therapy. Both viral and non-viral approaches that improve gene transfer efficiency have been described, but suffer from a number of limitations. Herein, a fiber-modified adenovirus, carrying the small peptide ligand on the capsid, was tested for the delivery of a transgene to cancer cells. The fiber-modified adenovirus was able to mediate the entry and expression of a β-galactosidase into cancer cells with increased efficiency compared to the unmodified adenovirus. Particularly, the gene transfer efficiency was improved up to 5 times in OVCAR3 cells, an ovarian cancer cell line. Such transduction systems hold promise for delivering genes to transferrin receptor overexpressing cancer cells, and could be used for future cancer gene therapy.

        “원시교회(Ecclesia Primitiva)” 개념과 이상에 대한 역사적 고찰

        In the history of the church, there have always been both a quest for the true church and a call for personal and communal reform and renewal. Most frequently the predominant model for this reform and renewal was the ecclesia primitiva. The notion of the ecclesia primitiva in the church history has most frequently referred to the apostolic church as portrayed in such New Testament passages as Acts 4:32ff, but has sometimes been extended to cover either the pre-Constantinian church or the whole patristic period. The first known use of the term ecclesia primitiva dates at least from the fifth century. One may find occasional references to the idea of the ecclesia primitiva in Merovingian documents. Also, during the Carolingian period, the idea of the ecclesia primitiva remained and was used primarily to signify the ideals of the common and apostolic life. The idea was current, especially among those groups interested in the reform of monastic and canonical life. The use of the term ecclesia primitiva is seldom found in the tenth-century documents but the idea remained and was widely revived in the middle of the eleventh century and later on was used to promote the ideal of monastic and canonical reform. The idea of the ecclesia primitiva was also associated with the search for the most perfect form of the Christian life. The idea became so common by the middle of the twelfth century that sometimes it was simply used to refer to the institutions believed to have existed in the early church, very occasionally implying that in the early church Christianity had not achieved the fullness of its development. In general the idea of the ecclesia primitiva in the Middle Ages was most commonly associated with the following of the apostolic life and the practice of having all things in common and living a simple and communal life. The reform on the model of the primitive church has been a primary motive for dissent since the early Middle Ages. Reformation, especially of the Anabaptists, was the culmination of the efforts to restore the primitive church. The ecclesia primitiva has been the model for the reform and renewal toward the true church within Protestantism as well as within Catholicism throughout the history of Christianity.

        압전성 $KAlSiO_4$ 단결정 육성 및 상변화

        Kalsilite (KAlSiO4) system undergoes a displacive phase transition from hexagonal phase with p63 space group to the phase with P63mc at 886$^{\circ}C$. The flux composition having kalsilite :K2O:B2O3=1:2:2 has enabled the growth of hexagonal kalsilite with the size of 0.5~1 mm at a slow cooling rate (0.3$^{\circ}C$/hr). On decreasing the cooling rate the size has increased and pyramidal (1011) faces are newly developed with the shape of (0001) and (1010) faces. Upon stirring (1011) faces are degraded. The space group of O1 and O2 are P21221 and C2221 respectively. Their orthorombic modification O1 and O2 are synthesized at relatively low and high temperature respectively.

        차량 시뮬레이터 접목을 위한 실시간 인체거동 해석기법

        Visual effects are important cues for providing occupants with virtual reality in a vehicle simulator which imitates real driving. The viewpoint of an occupant is sensitively dependent upon the occupant's posture, therefore, the total human body motion must be considered in a graphic simulator. A real-time simulation is required for the dynamic analysis of complex human body motion. This study attempts to apply a neural network to the motion analysis in various driving situations. A full car of medium-sized vehicles was selected and modeled, and then analyzed using ADAMS in such driving conditions as bump-pass and lane-change for acquiring the accelerations of chassis of the vehicle model. A hybrid III 50%ile adult male dummy model was selected and modeled in an ellipsoid model. Multibody system analysis software, MADYMO, was used in the motion analysis of an occupant model in the seated position under the acceleration field of the vehicle model. Acceleration data of the head were collected as inputs to the viewpoint movement. Based on these data, a back-propagation neural network was composed to perform the real-time analysis of occupant motions under specified driving conditions and validated output of the composed neural network with MADYMO result in arbitrary driving scenario.
