Digital representations of products and parts have largely replaced physical drawings as the form in which product data are stored, analyzed, and communicated among the people contributing to the design of an automobile. Many individuals and companies participate in the design of an increasingly complex automobile; hence, the design process depends critically on team members' ability to share information about essential design elements. These trends have elevated the importance of the quality of product data and its efficient exchange. In this paper, we show state-of-the-art on Product Data Quality(PDQ), and activities of PDQ assurance. And we propose a novel design history-based approach for diagnosis and healing of a CAD model.

Automotive engineers involved in a new car project use various CAD systems that are chosen based on work requirements. For example, engineers in Hyundai Motors are using Pro/Designer and Alias for the style design, but they use CATIA to design parts and assemblies, ANSYS for FEM analysis, and Pro/Engineer to design engines. Because they use different CAD systems, they have difficulties in collaborative design. Data, which contains errors, is transferred between CAD systems. It is difficult to find out such errors in a large CAD model. An evaluation method for CAD models has been developed in this study. This diagnosis tool analyses a STEP or an IGES file generated from a CAD system, and produces a quantitative error report. The tool has been tested with actual data sets. This paper proposes an algorithm that produces mathematical error values of entities of IGES models that have geometrical data, and entities of STEP models that have topological data, and inspects every part of a model. To develop this system, we have used the OpenCASCADE kernel, which is an open source kernel developed by Matra Datavision of France.

Tip-tilt Simulation of a 3-DOF Secondary Mirror of Giant Magellan Telescope

The object of this study is a 3-DOF secondary mirror of Giant Magellan Telescope, which is a 3-DOF parallel manipulator. In order to analyze the kinematic characteristics of this mechanism, the forward kinematic equation and inverse kinematic equation are calculated respectively. To verify the performance of the secondary mirror, a series of experiments are carried out, and some relative experimental data about tip-tilt movement is obtained. To observe the tip-tilt movement of 3-DOF secondary mirror using a computer program, instead of conducting real experiment, a dynamic simulation module and a customizable simulation module are developed. Through comparing these two simulation results, the tip-tilt characteristic of 3-DOF secondary mirror can be visualized and supervised obviously, it also lays a solid foundation for kinematic calibration of this mechanism.
섬유 공장의 안전 교육훈련을 위한 ISM 기반 가상환경 시나리오 설계

Recently, research has actively examined applications of virtual reality technology in the field of safety education training to effectively respond to risk factors in abnormal situations. In this paper, we propose a virtual environment scenario design method based on the industrial secure module (ISM) for safety education training for dyeing machines and tenter machines, which are the core facilities of a textile mill. First, by analyzing the working environment of the actual textile process, the accident risks according to the process are classified for each type to identify the cause of the accident and its potential impact. Based on this, after creating an ISM document consisting of 172 items, the types and causes of accidents are linked according to the flow of the process to graphically illustrate the scenarios necessary for the establishment of a virtual environment. Finally, using this scenario, we build a virtual experience environment for safety education training in a textile mill. The ISM-based scenario design method can be effectively applied to the development of various education training programs.

Long time ago the purpose of dental implants were not for recovery such as natural teeth, but now in the area has been progressing rapidly of the tooth damage, anodontia and masticatory movement for recovery. Dental implants function and esthetics was also an important factor. Dental implant is composed of Fixture and Abutment and Crown, in past studies were intended to focus attention on osseointegration with Fixture to success rate of surgery, while the current aesthetic other natural teeth and good match that has been placing emphasis on Abutment. Accordingly, Abutment has various designs of type and size of model name. The dentist should choose the most appropriate Abutment considering the radiographic images of the patient. In this study was implemented that the dentist can choose expert system for Best Selection of Dental Implant Abutments more systematically. The system was that based on anatomical information and included rules for selection abutment. And also considered both the patient"s physical and anatomical at the same time. Implementation that the E"s Abutment product information, classify the type of fuzzy rule base and practices based on statistics case base were stored in the expert system program. Deduced from the analysis of the results window, as a result of the CAD system to model is visualized through CAD Modeling Viewer.
