        조명시스템의 경제성에 크게 영향을 주는 요소들을 보면 초기 설비비, 보수비, 전기요금 등이 있다. 이 중에서 보수비는 램프 교환비, 램프교환 인건비, 청소비로 구성되어 있으므로 보수계획에 따라서 조명시스템의 경제성이 다르게 나타난다. 따라서 설계초기에 어떠한 조명시스템이 경제적으로 유리한가를 예측하는 것은 중요하다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 국내에서 평균조도를 계산하는데 사용되는 ZCM에서의 보수율 구성 요소들을 변화시켜 보수율 값을 산정한 후 조명시스템의 경제성 평가를 위해 개발한 WEELS(Worksheet for Economics Evaluation of Lighting Systems)에 적용하여 조명시스템에서 보수율의 중요성을 보였다.

        Although use of chemical and biological markers has been widely used by numerous oncologists, there may be problems such complex and time consuming procedure. Recently, the relationships among the cell structure and the mechanical properties have been studied because the cancer cells can be characterized by varying mechanical properties associated with the disease state. In this paper, a novel characterization method for a breast cancer cell (MCF7) and normal cell (MCF10A) is suggested using frequency response through cell deformation. A single cell is placed on the laminated PZT actuator, and the microcantilever, which does not have a sharp tip, but a flat contact surface, is placed on the upper surface of the cell to deform the whole cell. The PZT actuator excites the single cell and its deformation is then evaluated from the displacement of the cantilever by measuring the voltage output through a piezoresistive sensor. These results indicate the higher frequencies and pre loads offer the larger differences between the cancer and normal cells, which is enough to diagnose them in magnitude and phase.

        This study was performed to estimate the emission rate of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and to evaluate the risk level affected by indoor air pollutants (IAPs) in 27 new apartments (prior to residence) in Seoul City from December 2004 to March 2005. The indoor air pollutants investigated in this study include formaldehyde, several aromatic VOCs (benzene, toluene, styrene, xylene, and ethylbenzene). All measurements were made based on the standard method of Ministry of Environment in Korea. The indoor concentration levels for benzene, xylene, toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene, and formaldehyde have significant increase trend 5 hours after closing windows and doors. Levels of air pollutants did not exhibit significant difference between living rooms and bedrooms. The air exchange rates by the concentration decay method using SF6 were 0.37 for low floor, 0.32 for middle floor, and 0.75 for high floor. The emission rate showed the highest level in the middle floor and second one in the low floor, when estimated by the IAQ model for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, styrene, and formaldehyde. Considering the above result, it is suggested that the estimation of emission rate be considered when the new apartment is designed and constructed with respect to construction materials to emit low VOCs. Moreover, the related regulation should be established for IAQ management.

        우리나라 일부 석면 함유제품에 대한 실태조사

        This study was performed to investigate the current status, in Korea, of the production of asbestos containing products (ACPs) such as asbestos cement products, asbestos friction materials, asbestos joint sheets, asbestos textile products, and other asbestos-containing products from May 2 to July 30, 2007. The information on ACPs was obtained through written questionnaires from 16 of the 27 companies that produce ACPs in Korea. The production amounts of asbestos containing gaskets were 70 tons in 2004, 90 tons in 2005, and 55 tons in 2006 in 4 companies and that of asbestos friction materials were 435.5 tons in 2004, 540.4 tons in 2005, and 454.3s ton in 2006 in 10 companies. The type and number of ACPs were:- 19 asbestos cement products, produced by 2 companies; 47 asbestos friction materials produced by 18 companies; 12 asbestos joint sheets productes by 4 companies; 18 asbestos textile products from 3 companies, and 6 other asbestos products from 5 companies. The database of ACPs was constructed to include the products name, identification number, name of company, production year, composition, asbestos content (%), usage, specification, and a picture. The database will be used to efficiently identify ACPs and to avoid asbestos exposure in workers and the general population.

        조선업 용접작업장의 공기중 입자상물질 및 구성성분에 관한 연구

        This research was performed to evaluate the airborne personal concentration of hazardouse materials during the process of ship construction and surveyed from May 23 to June 30, 2007 in Kyungnam West Distirct, Korea. The subject was 94 ship construction workers exposed to welding fume and respirable particulate. The airborne concentrations of those were compared to Permissible Exposure Limit(PEL) from the Ministry of Labor in Korea. The airborne concentration of 23 samples(48.9%) of welding fumes was less than 5㎎/㎥, that of 16 (34.0%) was between 5 and 10㎎/㎥, and that of 8 (17.0%) was greater than 10㎎/㎥. The airborne concentration of 27 (57.4%) of respirable particulate masses was less than 5㎎/㎥ and the othere are greater than 5 ㎎/㎥. The welding fumes were identified containing the heavy metasl such as Fe, Mn, Zn, Mg, Ca, and Cu. The respirable particulates has similiar tendency with welding fumes in the component of heavy metals. But the concentration of Ca, Cu, Cr, and Ni turned out to be higher in welding fumes. Twenty (42.6%) of the 47 samples of welding fumes were exceeded PEL. In the heavy metals in welding fumes, ten (21.3%) of the 47 samples of Mn were exceeded PEL. Based on the results, the higher airborne hazardous materials were still exposed to wokers in ship construction process. It is suggested that the appropriate engineering control be applied to minimize the exposed cocnetration in ship building processes.

      • 화학물질 분류 및 표시 국제기준의 국내 적용방안에 관한 화학물질 관련 업종별 실태 조사

        The main purpose of this research is to formulate best policy measure to minimize the expected problems when adopting and implementing GHS system in Korea and to draft the revision proposal for Industrial Safety and Health Act taking into account of unique domestic situation. The research method is to conduct a survey for 2 month period from early April to late May in 2006 to 830 randomly selected chemical manufacturing, importing and exporting, and consumption companies out of all the companies surveyed by the Ministry of Labor under 2004 Work Environment Status National Survey. A total of 610 survey was collected and analyzed. The results of this thesis is summarized as follows ; First, based on the survey analysis it is vital to conduct a national PR using pamphlet, internet, and daily newspaper and to provide technical assistance such as training expert and publishing GHS manual by expert organization such as Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) for early settlement of GHS in Korea. Second, it is also needed to give a grace period of 1 to 2 years to minimize the dramatic impact for industry, to encourage the establishment of the GHS team utilizing safety managers within companies, and to develop and distribute the standard GHS software by government. Third, taking into account of difficult situation of small companies, KOSHA needs to provide a full technical and financial support for companies with less than 100 employees and especially for chemical manufacturing companies. Fourth, it is also needed to operate an Interministrial GHS Committee (IGC) involving 7 related ministries for smooth GHS implementation and to develop an infra by sharing responsibilities among related ministries and establishing internationally recognized organization for hazard classification, labelling, and MSDS.
