Magnetic Resonator Design for Wireless Power Transfer Using a Mathematical Design Approach
신현도,유정훈 한국정밀공학회 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.19 No.9
In this study, we propose an unprecedented structure of a metallic magnetic resonator to harvest the magnetic energy for the wireless communication in a very high frequency range using the phase field design method. For the finite element analysis of electromagnetic wave propagation in the very high frequency range, the skin effect is a critical factor to determine the performance of the device so that the highly refined mesh generation is required to deal with the skin effect. In this study, we propose an artificial conductive material and a modified interpolation scheme based on the sigmoid function to deal with the skin effect. The proposed conductive material is derived from the complex permittivity and it is approximately regarded as a perfect electric conductor condition. The reaction diffusion equation combined with double well potential functions is applied as the update scheme for the phase field parameter. For the electromagnetic wave analysis in a transverse magnetic mode, the Helmholtz equation derived by Maxwell’s equations is solved as the governing equation. The derived optimal structure is reformed by employing a post processing scheme that determines the clear boundary to improve the performance and manufacturing feasibility of the final result. Finally, we propose a symmetry model based on the derived optimal model and its performance is verified by numerical simulations.
Tunable Waveguide Bandpass Filter Design Using a Sequential Design Process
신현도,유정훈 한국정밀공학회 2017 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.18 No.6
In this study, a symmetric waveguide bandpass filter is proposed using a systematic design process. The waveguide device is designed to control the operation frequency range by changing the metallic barrier width in the system and the finite element method is employed for numerical analysis. We used topology optimization based on the On/Off method for initial concept design with the design objective to maximize the transmitted electric intensity at the target frequency. Detail two-dimensional metallic structure for a tunable bandpass filter was determined through successive parametric studies using the shape primitively derived from the On/Off method. The performance of the proposed waveguide system was verified by numerical simulations and experimental measurements.
Two cases of pyogenic liver abscess due to Klebsiella pneumoniae in immunocompetent children
신현도,이명섭,홍준표,김태환,김도중,유지형 대한소아응급의학회 2019 대한소아응급의학회지 Vol.6 No.1
Pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) can be caused by bacteria entering the liver via the portal vein or primary bacteremia, or it can be cryptogenic. Recently, Klebsiella pneumoniae has been increasingly found as a PLA pathogen. PLA due to this bacterium often leads to formation of extrahepatic abscesses. The treatment of choice is dual therapy with insertion of percutaneous catheter drainage and antibiotic therapy. We report 2 cases of PLA due to K. pneumoniae in immunocompetent children. We successfully treated patient 1 with percutaneous catheter drainage for 18 days and 6-week course of antibiotic therapy. Patient 2 was treated with percutaneous needle aspiration and antibiotic therapy for the same period. In both patients, the PLAs showed the ultrasound-confirmed resolutions after the dual therapy.

Solidago virgaurea subsp. gigantea is native to Ulleung-do, island in East Sea, and cultivated as a vegetable in Korea. Rust fungus on this plant was first reported as Coleosporium asterum in 2014. Recent studies on Solidago-Coleosporium association mainly based on North American materials suggested that the Korean isolates of C. asterum on S. virgaurea subsp. gigantea reported in Korea might be placed in the C. solidaginis clade. Accordingly, to confirm this suggestion, three additional Korean samples were morphologically and molecularly studied and identified as C. solidaginis in current species concept. Three specimens on S. altissima (syn. S. canadensis) from China and Japan were previously determined to be phylogenetically differentiated from C. solidaginis, hinting at a cryptic species. Therefore, this is the first confirmed report on the presence of C. solidaginis on Solidago spp. in Asia.
