To develop the agriculture productivity potential in the tropical and subtropical regions in relation to world's population of the future is very important. Total world's population in 2110 will reach 10.5 billion and the 95% of the population expansion will occur in previously asserted regions. The inappropriateness area for agriculture production will have mostly high population increase, and the highest rate of population increase will be in Africa. Where the population supporting capacity will be a critical situation are Central America, Southwest Asia and Africa by 2000, and these 3 regions would face in difficult situation, although it would be taken increasing level of material inputs to produce better yield. For improvement of the rate of self-supplied food in tropical and subtropical developing countries, it should be taken several scheme, namely, the accelerated development of irrigation, the expanding of cultivation acreage, high productivity level per unit area, soil conservation measures, etc. Finally, it seems that an exhaustive study on the tropical and subtropical agriculture and the appropriate agrotechnology are highly significant to feed it's population from it's own lands, and at the same time it would need resolute capital investment and technology from developed countries.

Cassava, tropical tuber crop, is plying still an important role as human food in tropical climatic zone. Tuber of Cassava is powerful suppliers of food energy but poor sources of protein deficiency can be partly overcome, however, by consuming cassava leaf or other legume grains. Nutritionally adverse factor such as cyanide toxity in cassava has been observed but their effect can be minimized by new variety, better balancing dietary rations. The different detoxification methods such as heating, chopping, boiling and fermentation are mentioned The major processed forms of the cassava tuber and leaf such as gari,farinha de mandioca, meal of retted cassava, cassava chips and fellect, cassava starch,cassava leaves and Saka saka are reviewed in the paper. In the end, the economic Importance,world trade are also shortly discussed.

In order to calculate the daily intake amount of NO_3 for Korean, it is necessary to evaluate the basic information on average NO_3 content in beverage & drinks like another major sources for NO_3 such as vegetables, milk, grain, fruit and water. This experiment was aimed to find out the average content of NO_3 in favorite drinks for Koreans, the content of NO_3 in 5 sorts of tea, 7 coffees, 5 beers and 14 Korean traditional teas were investigated by 3 manufacturers in 5 duplications. The NO_3 content in Korean traditional tea show between 15 and 49ppm, but Brown rice-Green tea and Green tea have lower value than Red tea, Duchung tea and Jasmine tea. The lowest concentration among the Korean traditional tea shows in the Tea water boiled with burned rice(Sungryung tea). Chrysanthemum tea has the highest value among the imported teas, but Yongjeongmyeong tea has the lowest one. Red teas imported from Sri Lanka. USA show 30-33ppm which is similar to Korean red tea. The NO_3 content in de-caffeined coffee has the lowest value ever, but instant coffee such as Maxim coffee and Choice coffee show 44ppm and 47ppm respectively, whereas Raspberry coffee and Hazelunt coffee show relatively low concentration between 20 and 24ppm. But beers have lower value in NO_3 content compared to another beverage such as tea, coffee and Korean traditional tea. There is no difference between Korean produced or imported beer in terms of NO_3 content, but the lowest value was shown in Heinecken beer.

There are several types of Eco-village developed in advanced countries including urban, suburban and country style. For the establishment of Eco-village in Korea, it was focussed to introduce the country style which has been developed intensively in European countries such as Denmark, England and Germany. As a key concept for Eco-village it was explained briefly and discussed on the renewable energy (wind power park, bio-mass and solar energy collector and heating system), eco-architecture, methane gas device, living machine(wastewater treatment facility) and organic farming. It was also discussed how important the basic standard and guidelines for organic agriculture to run Eco-village as a whole system environmentally sound and why it is so much essential for the system. For this reason major principles of international applicable standard(draft) for organically grown foods by FAO/WHO Codex alimentarius was shortly described. In the paper the Eco-village concept for country style is considered as one of very suitable type for Environmental Agriculture Districts Program which Korean government is going to establish in the near future. In conclusion it was also suggested that the positive participation of organic farmers, enthusiastic engagement of inhabitants and support strategy of government or NGO groups might play very important role for successful management of Eco-village ecologically sound and economically sustainable after establishment.

The top country of organic agriculture becomes nowadays well known Germany in terms of technical levels not only in the field of organic plant & animal production but also food processing & marketing. In this paper, 3 main factors which exerted a strong influence on the evolution & development of German organic agriculture in Germany were discussed.First, German Universities such as University of Bonn, University of Giessen, and Hohenheim University established Dept of Organic Agriculture and offers the organic agriculture major in the Master & Ph D course, while University of Kassel established College of Organic Agriculture and offers 23 major courses in various organic agriculture sectors. Furthermore most agriculture colleges in Germany offers some organic agriculture subjects to the students, because organic agriculture is one of the emerging industries in the agricultural sector, and farmers and consumers pay a great attention. There are 50 universities which offer agriculture courses in Korea, nevertheless none of Korean university offers Dept of Organic Agriculture. Second, German federal government established National Institute of Organic Agriculture in Trenthorst and tried to develop new scientific technology and skills for organic plant and animal production. And these new technical information was transferred to organic farmers through Demonstration Farm which is located in more than 200 sites. Third, Organic Agriculture Extension Service Center such as Kompetenzzentrum Oekolandbau Niedersachen (KÖN) was established in each states from 2002. These Organic Centers offer various advices for organic farmers verified scientifically or and the technical package for conversion farmer too.
