Bis(p-substituted phenyl) 2-decyloxyterephthalate의 액정 특성에 대한 치환기 효과

Eleven new compounds that are composed of bis(p-substituted phenyl) terephthalate unitand the decyloxy pendant as lateral were synthesized and their thermal and liquid crystalline properties were studied by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and on a hot-stage of a polarizing microscope. The ter-minal substituent groups of the compound were varied; X= -H(II-H), -F(lI-F), -CII(II-CI), -Br(ll-Br), -I(II-I), -$NO_2(lI-NO_2$), $-CF_3(II-CF_3$), -$OC_2H_5(II-OC_2H_5$), -$OC_4H_9(II-OC_4H_9$), -$C_6H_5(Il-C_6H_5$). The compounds of $II-OC_2H_5,\;II-OC_4H_9$ and $II-C_6H_5$ were monotropically nematic. In contrast, the compounds of Il-H, II-F, II-Cl, II-Br, II-I, $lI-NO_2$, $II-CF_3$, and II-CN did not show liquid crystalline properties. 비스(파라-치환페닐)테레프탈산 에스테르의 중앙 테레프탈산 벤젠고리 측면에 데실옥시기가 결합하고 있는 열한개의 새로운 화합물을 합성하였고, 이들의 열적 및 액정 성질을 DSC와 가열판이 부착된 편광현미경을 사용하여 조사하였다. 메소겐의 말단 치환기 X= -H(II-H), -F(II-F), -Cl(Il-Cl), -Br(Il-Br), -I(II-I), -$NO_2(lI-NO_2$), $-CF_3(II-CF_3$), -$OC_2H_5(II-OC_2H_5$), -$OC_4H_9(II-OC_4H_9$), -CN(II-CN) 및 -$C_6H_5(Il-C_6H_5$)로 바꾸었다. $II-OC_2H_5,\;II-OC_4H_9$, 및 $II-C_6H_5$는 단방성 네마틱 액정이었으며, II-H, lI-F, II-Cl, Il-Br, II-I, $II-NO_2$, $II-CF_3$, 및 Il-CN은 액정이 아니었다.

In this paper, quasi three-dimensional design method was used to develop for R134a centrifugal compressor included in ice storage system. The calculation in impeller passage was conducted by a combination of stream function of in hub-to-shroud and blade-to-blade. Compressor design conditions was determined from thermodynamic cycle analysis of ice storage system. In present development, interesting parameters for design were rotational speed, number of blade, swirl parameter and flow angle of impeller. The verification for designed compressor was carried out from three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis. The result of analysis is fairly matched with objective of design condition.

옥시폴리메틸렌옥시 유연격자를 갖는 새로운 H-자형 쌍동이 분자의 동족계열 액정화합물(PPPA-n)을 p-페닐페놀과 ${\alpha},{\omega}$-bis(2,5-dicarboxyphenoxy)alkanes 산염화물의 에스터화반응에 의하여 합성하였다. 유연격자의 길이는 옥시에틸렌옥시(n=2)에서 옥시데카메틸렌옥시(n=10)로 바꾸었다. 이들의 열역학적 값은 시차주사열분석기에 의하여 측정되어졌고,액정성은 가열판이 부착된 편광현미경에 의하여 조사되어졌다. A homologous series of new H-shaped twin liquid crystal molecules (PPPA-n) with flexible spacers, oxypolymethyleneoxy, has been prepared by esterification of acid chloride of $\alpha$,$\omega$-bis(2,5-dicar-boxyphenoxy) alkanes with p-phenylphenol. The length of spacer was varied from oxyethyleneoxy (n=2) to oxydecamethyleneoxy (n=10). Their thermodynamic data were measured by differential scanning calorimetry and liquid crystalline properties were investigated by a hot-stage polarizing microscope.

A new homologous series with the general formula in which n is the longitudinal alkyloxy group, n=1-10, was synthesized. The thermotropic and liquid crystalline properties were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and on the hot-stage of a polarizing microscope. All of the new compounds were monotropic and texture observations proved that all investigated homologues with n=1-10 exhibited nematic phases. Also, the compounds showed pronounced alternation effects in the homologous series with constant lateral bridging group, oxydecamethyleneoxy, but increasing longitudinal chains, n. n=1-10으로 종축방향의 알킬옥시기를 갖는 아래 구조의 새로운 동족계열 화합물을 합성하였다. 이들의 열적 및 액정성질을 DSC와 가열판이 부착된 편광현미경을 사용하여 조사하였다. 새로운 화합물들은 모두 단방성이었고, 조사된 동족계열, n=1-10, 화합물들의 구조는 네마틱상을 나타내었다. 또한 화합물들은 일정한 측면 다리기, 옥시데카메틸렌옥시,를 가지며 종축사슬, n을 증가시켰을 때 동족 계열내에서 교대효과를 나타내었다.
