Since due to the nature of high-rise buildings, the increase of wind speed according to the height of a building makes it possible to use high wind power resources, many countries led by some advanced nations are recently making steady and persistently effort in introducing small wind turbine systems as a step to lower electric power load in high-rise buildings. The aim of this research is to propose an optimum application process of a small wind turbine system in high-rise buildings. To achieve this goal, the case study on the applications of high-rise and tall buildings was conducted and selected the best application among them. With considerations based on the results, an application process which is verified by actually selecting a high-rise building was proposed.

Speed and torque controls of induction motors are usually attained by the application of position and speed sensors. However, speed and position sensors require the additional mounting space, reduce the reliability in harsh environments and increase the cost of a motor. Therefore, many studies have been performed for the elimination of speed and position sensors. This paper investigates an improved sensorless control of an induction motor. The proposed control strategy utilizes the MRAS(Model Reference Adaptive System) for estimating the speed of a sensorless induction motor. The proposed algorithm is verified through the simulation and experimentation.

Depth-sensing indentation is widely used for evaluation of mechanical properties of thin films. It is generally accepted that the most significant source of uncertainty in nanoindentation measurement is the geometry of the indenter tip. Therefore the successful application of the technique requires accurate calibration of the indenter tip geometry. The direct measurement of geometry of a Berkovich indenter was determined using a atomic force microscope. The indentation geometrical calibration of contact area was performed by analyzing the indenter tip profile. The equations of area functions were proposed for nanoscale thin films.

Plans are needed to reduce energy consumption in each countries and Korea ,as the world is highly interested in green growth and environment conservation. This is an elementary study for the application of optimal heating and cooling system for future housing, material research was conducted on conventional and latest heating and cooling system, and optimal alternatives proposed. The result of this study is summarized as follows. Radiant floor heating was applied in current, but it will should be advantageous combination of convection cooling systems and radiant heating systems with smaller capacity, due to high insulation.
