This paper presents a TD (Temporal difference) based weighted instance segmentation algorithm for consecutive images. The motivation behind this study is to enhance the segmentation capabilities of service robots, specifically those involved in restaurant cooking assistance. The autonomy of robots heavily relies on visual information through their sensors, and deep neural networks have shown promise in object segmentation. The proposed method employs a weighted segmentation method based on combined probabilities and segmentation history across consecutive images. It accumulates segmentation results in each frame and uses them in subsequent segmentation to reduce segmentation errors. The temporal difference method is based upon a probability map derived from instance segmentation, specifically the mask region-based convolutional neural network (Mask R-CNN) method. The experimental results focus on the segmentation of raw chicken parts for cooking materials, comparing the proposed method with instance segmentation. The experiments demonstrated that 29% of the images exhibited improved segmentation of target objects compared with the existing methods.

Purpose: Fungal secondary metabolite (mycotoxin) contamination in foods can pose a serious threat to humans and animals. Spectroscopic techniques have proven to be potential alternative tools for early detection of mycotoxins. Thus, the aim ofthis review is to provide an overview of the current developments in nondestructive food safety testing techniques, particularlyregarding fungal contamination testing in grains, focusing on the application of spectroscopic techniques to this problem. Methods: This review focuses on the use of spectroscopic techniques for the detection of fungi and mycotoxins in agriculturalproducts as reported in the literature. It provides an overview of the characteristics of the main spectroscopic methods andreviews their applications in grain analysis. Results: It was found that spectroscopy has advantages over conventionalmethods used for fungal contamination detection, particularly when combined with chemometrics. These advantages includethe rapidness and nondestructive nature of this approach. Conclusions: While spectroscopy offers many benefits for thedetection of mycotoxins in agricultural products, a number of limitations exist, which must be overcome prior to widespreadadoption of these techniques.
Generating Homogeneous Map with Targets and Paths for Coordinated Search

This work presents a new solution for coordinated search with a team of heterogeneous robots executing a time-critical mission. It is challenging to specify and represent search locations (targets) in known but dynamic environments as well as to find robotic paths to visit the locations. We propose a technique to construct an information map that includes locations of uncertain targets, and generate optimal paths. We especially focus on combining a satellite map that has global coordinates with local images gathered from an aerial robot. Specific targets are represented on a homogeneous coordinate system, so that different types of robots, capable to gather necessary information, may cooperatively conduct a mission. Once a homogeneous map is constructed, a centralized pathfinding algorithm can be applied. Our path-finding algorithm is to choose a set of paths, suggesting a proper number of robots along with their initial locations. In our work, robots can independently travel search locations, which may have dynamics or changes, but collaboratively cover all target locations. Through the experiments with real robotic platforms, we validate the generation of a map including targets and a choice of paths, and compare with existing algorithms.

이 연구는 2008년 제18대 국회의원 총선에서 나타난 광주광역시에서의 투표율저하 현상을 분석하여 한국 민주주의의 현 상태를 진단하고 발전을 위한 개혁의 단서를 얻고자 하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 연구는 먼저 지역지배정당의 권력 독점이라는 광주 정치의 특수성을 역사적 질적 분석을 통하여 밝히고 제18대 총선에서의 통합민주당의 공천 실패가 특별히 높은 무투표 현상을 가져오게 됨을 분석하였다. 이어서 유권자 설문조사의 결과를 활용한 양적 분석은 광주 유권자들이 타 지역에 비하여 민주정치 및 정당정치에 대한 만족도가 떨어지며 경쟁과 대안없는 지역 선거 정치에 대한 유권자들의 불만이 높은 무투표율의 원인임을 보여 주었다. Focusing on Gwangju's lowest turn-out rate at the 18th General Elections for National Assembly in 2008, the authors attempt to assess the current state of democracy in Korea. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses are applied to find out the causes for the dramatic decrease over time in the electoral participation of the city, whose residents are widely known for their high democratic zeal. By performing this critical case study, the authors argue that the extent of contestation among political parties matters in making democracy work. The authors find that Gwangju voters in 2008 were less satisfied with regional democracy and that their discontent with local politics helped lower the voter-turnout.

이온 교환막을 이용하는 축전식 탈염 (capacitive deionization, CDI)은 에너지 절약적인 친환경 기술로써 정수 처리, 경수의 연수화, 재이용수 처리 등에 활용이 되고 있다. 균질 이온 교환막이 현재 주로 CDI에 사용되고 있으나 새로운 기공 함침(pore-filling)막이 적용된 CDI 성능을 조사하였으며 상용 불균질막의 성능도 비교하였다. 또한 공급 수의 유량과 온도, 나트륨 염의 종류, 스페이서의 두께에 따른 CDI 성능을 측정하였다. NaNO<sub>3</sub>의 제거율은 NaCl 보다 약간 높았으며, Na<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>와 NaHCO<sub>3</sub>의 제거율은 NaCl 보다 낮았다. 조사한 실험 범위 내에서는 균질막 〉 기공 함침막 〉 불균질막 순으로 TDS 제거율이 높았다. 두께가 얇고 적절한 물성의 기공 함침막은 CDI 성능과 가격 경쟁력 향상에 유망한 이온 교환막이 될 수 있다.
