음악의 느낌을 형상화한 화예 작품 창작 - 輝(휘) -

The work was created through the self-expressive process in which inner perception of mood and emotion was expressed through the form and colors. The idea of the work was drown from sonic stimuli excluding visual motives where usage of visual motives drown directly were avoided and let the perceptive process of feeling, mood, sense and emotion form a composition. The researcher listened to the music 'MAMBO' from the label that contains concert of 40th memorial of 'El Sistema' and perceived the dynamic and lively breath of music as well as powerful explosion of energy. The researcher tried to describe the emotion of Venezuela and 'MAMBO' with white Edgeworthia chrysantha and LED lights. LED lights were positioned in parallel with Edgeworthia chrysantha and the number of lights were controled. The white flowers of scabiosa were used for the LED lights shine through their petals. The work ended by coloring with green paints at edge of Edgeworthia chrysantha. 본 작품은 청각적 자극인 음악을 듣고 그 느낌을 시각적 구성으로 표현하게 함으로써 음악으로 받은 느낌 자체를 감지적 과정을 통해 스스로형상화하도록 요구받았다. 연구자는 음악적 영감이라는 주제를 대하면서‘MAMBO’라는 곡을 통해, 살아 숨 쉬는 연주가 주는 역동성 속에 폭발적인 에너지를 느낄 수 있었으며 남미가 주는 밝고 경쾌한 느낌을 느낄수 있었다. 이어 행해진 이미지 리서치를 통해 음악과 남미의 느낌을 구체적인 형상으로 찾아갈 수 있었다. 리서치를 반복하면서 표현의 깊이와다양성에 대한 연구가 깊어질 수 있었다. 음악의 느낌을 헤어의 뿌려짐과 같은 모티브로 전개시켜 물결이 일렁이는 것처럼 곡선을 이루는 형태와 좀 더 단순화되고 간결한 형태인 사선을 사용하여 내부의 힘이 외부210 한국화예디자인학 연구 제35집를 향해 곧바로 솟아 품어져 나오는 형태의 두 가지 스케치를 전개시켜최종적으로 ‘MAMBO’의 느낌을 더 잘 살리는, 튕겨지고 솟아나는 형태로 정리되었다. 구성 단계에서는 화기에 스티로폼을 넣고 그 위에 삼지닥나무의 얇은 가지들을 부착하였고 삼지닥나무 중간에 LED전구를 넣었는데 전구의 방향을 다르게 배치하고 빛의 양을 조절하였다. 빛이 있는부분에 하얀색 스카비오사를 꽂아 얇은 꽃잎에 빛이 비추도록 하였다. 색이 화려한 색상의 꽃을 사용하지 않고 하얀색 스카비오사만 사용하여빛이 꽃잎을 투과하도록 작업하였으며 그린계열 색상을 삼지닥나무 끝부분에 채색하여 마무리하였다.

The Rice FON1 Gene Controls Vegetative and Reproductive De-velopment by Regulating Shoot Apical Meristem Size

Most plant organs develop from meristems. Rice FON1, which is an ortholog of Clv1, regulates stem cell proliferation and organ initiation. The point mutations, fon1-1 and fon1-2, disrupt meristem balance, resulting in alteration of floral organ numbers and the architecture of primary rachis branches. In this study, we identified two knockout alleles, fon1-3 and fon1-4, generated by T-DNA and Tos17 insertion, respectively. Unlike the previously isolated point mutants, the null mutants have alterations not only of the reproductive organs but also of vegetative tissues, producing fewer tillers and secondary rachis branches. The mutant plants are semi-dwarfs due to delayed leaf emergence, and leaf senescence is delayed. SEM analysis showed that the shoot apical meristems of fon1-3 mutants are enlarged. These results indicate that FON1 controls vegetative as well as reproductive development by regulating meristem size.

가구 용어 연구 II - 전통가구 종류 및 경첩을 중심으로 -

This study describes the furniture terms in English relating to the types (Jang, Nong, Bandazi) and hinges (Gyeongchup) of traditional Korean wood furniture considering furniture globalization. Traditional Western chest, commode, wardrobe, cupboard, secretary, cabinet, and bookcase, which store something such as clothing, books, tablewares, small things and so on, could be compared with the Jang, Non, and Bandazi in terms of the pieces' use in researching the terms between English and Korean language. Hardwares decorating surfaces of the pieces, including the furniture types and details, were studied according to the shapes and the uses in order to explore the two terms. As a result, the terms of chest (Gaew), commode (Seolapjang), cupboard/buffet (Chanjang), wardrobe (Ottjang), cabinet (Jang), secretary (Jang), bookcase (Checkjang), and Half-opened chest (Bandazi) were analyzed and proposed in Korean and English language. In addition, the terms of the hinges between the two furniture were studied as well.

여성적 모티브를 가지고 행한 감각적 화예 작품 창작 - 손을 내어밀다 -

The research started from the sensitivity of the color, red. The research led the researcher to the fantasy and fairy tales through the red dress, red shoes, red cape, red lips, red finger nails and red tea cup. It ended to the old fairy tale of the Snow White and red apple. And also the researcher's attention was drown to the shape of hands shown on many images during the image research. Therefore the researcher started experiment on hand shape creation. Hands are very important tool to the artist. The researcher thought out a shape that hand is reached to something that is very dear to the owner of the hand. So the researcher made the shape of a hand out with vinyl tape and let the hand hold roses. Roses means desire or hope which was not fulfilled yet and reaching hand to the roses means that the owner of the hand is trying hard to get something. As the desire or hope was not fulfilled yet, the roses had to stay in a glass ball which is being seen but not fully free. Rosa multiflora were used to express strength and wildness of the desire. The shape of the hand was made after researcher's hand because the story of the work is made from the researcher's own story. 본 연구는 빨간색에 대한 감각적인 접근에서 시작되었다. 빨간 드레스에서 시작된 리서치는 펄럭이는 스커트와 빨간 구두, 빨간 망토로 이어지며 환상과 동화의 모티브와 연결되어졌다. 계속된 리서치에서 빨간색은 입술, 손톱, 찻잔과 같은 신체 부위와 소품으로 번져나갔으며 결국 백설 공주의 사과 모티브에 이르게 되었다. 또한 연구자는 이 이미지에 드러난 손의 모양에 이끌렸는데 이러한 관심은 손을 활용한 다양한 창작시도를 탐색하게 되었다. 테이프 조각(taping sculpture)과 비닐로 만든194 한국화예디자인학 연구 제35집볼륨 안에 사람이 들어가 행하는 퍼포먼스 사례에 영감을 받아 테이프조각(taping sculpture)과 식물 오브제를 결합한 화예작품의 가능성을 탐구하게 되었다. 앞서의 다양한 이미지로부터 받은 영감을 기초로 하여다양한 스케치를 행하였다. 그 가운데 손을 내밀어 자신이 원하는 것을쥐는 형상을 조형화하였다. 손은 예술가에게 아주 중요한 수단이다. 그수단을 이용해 갈구하던 그 무엇인가를 얻는 모습을 표현했다. 실생활에서 가장 흔하게 볼 수 있는 OPP투명테이프를 사용하여 연구자의 “손”의형태로 제작이 되었다. 손 안의 장미는 아직은 완전히 펼쳐지지 않은, 그러나 그 안에 펼쳐짐이 보이는 욕망이나 희망과 같은 것이었기에 다소갇혀진 그러나 투명한 유리볼을 이용하여 표현하였다. 꽃은 예쁘고 가지런한 화훼용 장미가 아닌 들장미 느낌인 원예종- 목향장미(Rosa multiflora var. platyphylla Thory)를 사용하였다. 거칠지만 힘차게 피어나는 모습을 보여주고 싶었다. 여성적 색인 빨간색에서 출발하여 다양한이미지 리서치를 통해 결국 자신의 내면을 들여다보고 형상화한 작업이되었다. 이번 작업을 통해 조형화 작업을 행할 때 자신의 내면을 들어다보는 것과 시각적으로만 보여 지는 형태가 아닌 그 이미지에서 느껴지는분위기를 읽는 법을 배울 수 있었다.

Comparative Transcriptome Analysis Reveals Gene Regulatory Mechanism of UDT1 on Anther Development

The tapetum plays a crucial role in pollen development by nursing and releasing the microspore. The tapetum undergoes programmed cell death (PCD), and appropriate timing of PCD is essential for microsporogenesis. Undeveloped Tapetum1 (UDT1) is known to function in anther development, but the regulation mechanism of tapetum differentiation and degeneration by UDT1 is largely unknown. Through comparative transcriptome analysis, we selected 100 genes as udt1 downregulated genes. The biological process related to the negative regulation of translation is the most enriched in udt1 downregulated genes. It is attributed by ribosome inactivating proteins (RIPs), but the role of RIPs is not well defined, and they are assumed to participate in tapetal PCD. Lipid transport is another overrepresented Gene Ontology (GO) term in udt1 downregulated genes, indicating the functional loss of the tapetum as the nursing cell. Using comparative analysis and real-time PCR, we infer that UDT1 can trigger tapetal PCD by controlling the expression of RIPs and three aspartyl proteases (AP) grouped with OsAP37, which is well known as being involved in tapetum degeneration.

Experiencing the Art/Craft/Handmade/Studio Furniture Aesthetics in Postmodernism Theoretically (II) -Interpreting the Postmodern Furniture Aesthetics in terms of Symbol and Metaphor-

This study explored interpretation of the symbolical and metaphorical aesthetics in experiencing art/craft/handmade/studio furniture theoretically for ‘wood culture experience class’ or ‘wood love experience class’ by the Korea Forest Service because the class tends to focus on making simple wood works involved just in the practical part. Qualitative conceptual analysis as the principal methodology was used to achieve the theoretical context in the experience programs. After the lesson one on defining the postmodern aesthetics in New Design furniture as metaphor in the previous paper, I developed lesson two for an aesthetics of art and everyday life with wood furniture which expresses the metaphorical and symbolical aesthetics appeared as New Design furniture in postmodernism. As statement of objective in the second lesson, I explored that students in elementary schools personally transform and interpret the postmodern aesthetics of New Design furniture metaphorically with the meanings of symbol. As a result, the students will be able to write about the aesthetics of New Design furniture as metaphor in interpretation transformed by his/her perspective of a piece of selected New Design furniture.

On-line 판매 및 배송용 분화류를 위한 지류 포장 상자의 표준화 연구

본 연구에서는 최근 급증하고 있는 on-line 판매 및 배송용 분화류를 위한 지류 포장상자의 개발 및 표준화를 시도하였다. 관상용인 란(호접란, 풍란, 심비디움 등), 허브, 선인장 등과 같은 분화류는 해마다 급속도로 판매가 증가하고 있는 실정이지만, 이들의 운송 혹은 배송을 위한 전용 포장 상자가 부재하였다. 따라서 on-line 판매 및 배송용 분화류를 위한 전용 지류 포장 상자를 설계 및 제작하여 포장된 분화류의 고급 브랜드화, 운송 중의 안전성, 운반의 편리성을 도모하였다. 또한 개발된 포장 상자의 허용 하중, 내부 지지대의 적정 설계, 분화류의 다양한 크기에 맞는 포장 상자의 치수 등을 고려하여 표준화 시안을 마련하였다. This paper was a study on standardization and development of paper boxes for packaging flowerpots for on-line sale and delivery. The boxes for packaging flowerpots have hardly been developed so that a standardization for the boxes was required for better packaging than before. Specifically, sales of orchids, herbs, cactus and so on have rapidly growing up every year. As a result, the development of a new design in addition to the standardization of the paper boxes for packaging flowerpots in various sizes were made based on consideration including high class design, safety and convenience during transfer or delivery, the maximum load of flowerpots, design of interior pedestal, and various dimensions for different sizes of flowerpots.

한국 전통 목가구에 내재된 솜씨/기술의 패러다임 전환Ⅰ - 반닫이를 응용한 콘솔 연구

<P>In the postmodern era, this study explored to change the conventional paradigm of the Korean traditional furniture through the development of unique consoles modified from Korean inherited Vandazi which had been used as a kind of small chests. It was suggested that Vandazi that had been widely used by people from all levels of society since remote age in Korea has not been regarded as contemporary furniture for our modern living style. On the other hand, the console tables, which appeared in Roman furniture and in later European furniture from the Middle Age onward, are easily found in a Korean living life space, which led to their excessive imports from Europe and America. Therefore, so as for Vandazi to compete against the foreign consoles, it had to be modernized by adapting itself to the modern living space for a stand-up living style. In order to achieve Vandazi"s superiority in a furniture market, it was modified in a modern fashion by removing the front and the side of Vandazi for making it easy to receive and pick out things, and also by fitting up tiny metal ornaments called Jangseok. For economic reasons, modified Vandazi was made of old-aged chestnut, which has not been widely used as furniture wood, and cheap ailanthus. In addition, the Vandazi design was simplified by removing unnecessary ornaments for the purpose of saving labor costs. The newly-developed Korean consoles from Vandazi are distinct from the foreign consoles by representing their own identities in Korean furniture with differentiation from the foreign consoles, convenience in use, and economical efficiency. It is expected that the development of the Korean console through this study will make a turning point able to raise a market share of the Korean traditional furniture which has not been regarded as competitive products in furniture market.</P>

캐노피 침대 연구

This article explores a canopied bed coming from the tradition known as the Medieval origin in the history of furniture that has been developed and popularized until now. The canopy that protects the private life, keeps from bug or mosquito, and keeps the warmth is defined as both the roof and curtain on the bed. Today’s canopy bed, the word, we use and call means a bed with canopy in the 15th century. At that time, the great canopied bed built with elaborated wood carving and inlay symbolized the rank so that the high class exclusively was able to use the huge bed with canopy. Today there are various canopied beds including the luxurious and big bed with canopy in a huge room with a swimming pool. Hence, the symbol of the high class in the Medieval period that used the bed is similar to the symbol of the rich that today is able to afford it. The contemporary canopied bed shows various shapes such as pendent style, stand style, wall-hanging style, and mixed style, using various materials such as fabric, wood, steel, and plastic, satisfying adult and children not only indoor but also outdoor. Therefore, with the result studied theoretically and practically, the designers related will be able to inspire their own concept with creativity in order to convey and communicate the meaning with the user in creating the canopied bed for a contemporary interior.
